  1. Thanks for the detailed response George. Can i justy ask you though, how did yo pay George? He is on about some PayPal payment scheme??
  2. You can paint the mudflaps, just as you can plastic bumpers. The issue is not one of the final paint type. The important issue is that you use a two pack sytem with an etching primer. Without the etching primer, the paint will come right off as it flexes. Hope that helps.:smug:
  3. Fluff, what colour are your calipers? I have a Granite Sky IS200 and was going to paint the calipers blue. I am now thinking of black with white stickers?
  4. Check out these stickers http://www.geocities.com/lunatikz808/page2.html One guy has silver calipers with black stickers on a silver IS 300 - Cool. Anyone know if these stickers are available in the UK??
  5. Thanks Johnny Boy, thats great. I'll give them a try.
  6. I know a bit about this one. The IS 200 has an internal motion sensor alarm. The sensors are located just behind the internal light on the roof panel. The sensors are moulded into the same light cluster and you should notice them as two nibs on the plastic. I know this because i just had my sensors changed at the dealership - not due to false alrams, but because the sensors dd not pick up any motion. Hope this helps!
  7. Hey, those clear fogs really suit the silver. were thet hard to fit??
  8. Thanks all, i'll look at the YP. I just feel soooo gutted. Thanks again.
  9. Boll???s, i've just kerbed the rear alloy - its only four weeks old! Standard IS 200 SE. It has not gouged the alloy much, mainly a scratch and small ding. Can this be repaired, or is it a case of having to replace the alloy?
  10. Is smoothright like Hammerite???, where can i get it. Halfords sell a caliper painting kit in various colours. The kit comprises the paint, a hardener laquer, and a pre clean spray - all for £20.00. What do you think ? Thanks.
  11. I have a 2002 IS 200 SE and must agree that the sound system is superb. Best i have ever had a standard in any car. I do have a query though. The dealer info says tha tthe SE & Sport model have eight speakers instead of six as found on the standard IS 200 - anyone know where the eight are?? i can only find six.
  12. Hi, does anyone have experience of painting the front and rear calipers? I would like to take them apart and paint them off the car if that is not to difficult.
  13. oh well! I guess i'll have to wait for the corrosion to start! Thanks for your help.
  14. I'm with Frizzell, 75% NCB Guaranteed. Me (34) and the wife (29) £670.00 with £150 excess. [Edited on 9-4-2002 by kamlex]
  15. Does anybody know if the 2002 IS 200's have redesigned alloys, or are they the regular ones that are supposed to corrode??
  16. My Lexus 2002 IS200 SE does not have an auto-dimming rear view mirror, although all the glass including the rear window is tinted. Only the IS300 has the auto dimming rear view mirror.
  17. I have a month old IS200SE and think the alloys are real easy to keep clean. Should i expect these to start pitting soon or would mine be the 'revised' type????
  18. Sorry to hear about your misfortune mate. If you can, use laminated glass instead of plate glass or toughened glass to replace. The sods will have their work cut out trying to get through laminated!
  19. Has anyone had an LPG conversion? If so, what is involved and what is the cost??
  20. Yep, they did change. They now have a smoked effect which looks seriously cool on the Granite Sky models as the new lights match the bodywork just fine.
  21. Supercharged, do you mean Autoglym interior shampoo, or Autoglym interior vinyl and rubber cleaner??
  22. Hi, i've had my IS 200 SE for three weeks now, from new. The plastic material around the door panels, dash, handbrake etc, are all in a non sheen material with hardly any shine. I'd like to keep it that way but all the products i come across leave a shine of varying degrees. I was advised to try the Autoglym interior vinyl / rubber cleaner but this also leaves a shine. I went back to halfords to get some more tips and the rep from Ripspeed told me to use Autoglym engine cleaner on the interior!! He said he uses it all the time and it does not leave a shhen. Before i go down this route, i thought i'd ask you guys.
  23. Sorry, i should have said plug!! I'm in your boat, i'd always carry the spare. The Bridgestone Potenza tyres @ £120 each aren't worth messing up with foam.
