  1. That was a good day guys :D If I remember correctly, Zee showed up at about 8pm just when everyone was going home :duh: then he tried to use the excuse of 'I have been at a stag do in Amsterdam' when we all know he just can't read a map
  2. Does anyone know where to get a reasonably priced air con compressor for a 1995 LS400? Went to have it re-gassed today and the compressor has seized. Lexus quoted me £1200 Found a place in the states that does reconditioned ones for $500, but that is without the clutch. What are the chances of the clutch being knackered as well? Cheers guys
  3. Hi guys, I am thinking of buying a set of genuine workshop manuals for my 95 LS400. I have found an auction on ebay and the guy is selling book 1 and 2 for $140 but these are for American and Canadian LS's. Does anyone know if they will be suitable for a UK car? (apart from the steering wheel being on the wrong side before anyone says it :P ) If not, does anyone know a decent supplier for these suitable for UK cars? Cheers
  4. I'm pretty sure you have to carry the compressed gas warning sticker with Nitrous cylinders. Nitrous Oxide is not a flammable gas though. It breaks down into Nitrogen and Oxygen when subjected to the high temperatures and pressures present in the cylinder during the compression stroke. The extra oxygen allows you to burn more fuel thus creating more power. Secondly, when the gas changes state from a liquid to a gas in the air intake, it reduces the air intake temperature massively, this makes the intake air more dense, again making more oxygen available for combustion. This is the same principle as putting an intercooler on forced induction cars. Cold air = more power
  5. Karen DeSantis at Lexus Sheffield told me that there is a 'getout' clause after 18 months of the 3 years. She said this is the crossover point where the car's value and the outstanding balance are equal, so you can hand the car back and walk away with no penalties. Contact Lexus Financial Services to confirm this though........
  6. Sorry to hear about the accident I would defintely try and get mine done at Lexus. My friend has a brand new MR2 and he had a prang. His insurance company told him to take it to one of its approved garages and it has had to go back 3 times for poor paintwork and panel fit. He is also having warranty issues with Toyota now because of having it repaired at a non Toyota garage. The way I see it is that you wouldn't take your LS to a Ford or Citroen garage for a service, so why take it to a none Lexus dealer for repairs?
  7. Gutted I couldnt make this Euro meet, I went to the first 2 and they were awesome. Make sure you visit Fanzig's and Daisy's Diner............ Say Hi to Jens for me too
  8. Thats the most rediculous thing I have heard all day Goosey - Blueberry rules! Next you will be saying that the kebabs at Fanzigs are no good.........
  9. Yes it moves fine with all the manual switches, so I know the motors are all ok. On the aircon fault, after consulting with Chris Shipley and Mick at Lexus Stafford (cheers again :D ), I reset ECU 'B' and faults 14 and 15 disappeared. I was told that that faults 21 and 24 were the solar sensors and nothing to worry about as these only clear in bright light conditions. This just leaves fault 23 which is as Colin says, 'abnormal refrigerant pressure'. This is one of only two faults that stops the compressor clutch operating, so I am faced with a dilemma - do I have the system recharged and hope there is no leaks, or have someone do a leak test and service on the aircon system? Does anyone have any idea of how much it costs to recharge the aircon? Cheers, Andy
  10. 2) PM 'maria', her husband's company might be able to help - based newbury 3) there's an ECU under one of the front seats that controls the seat motors, but, are you getting the 'beep' when you set '1'? cos if you're not, then it's not storing it anyway. I am getting the beep, it just doesnt move the seat every time. It moves the mirrors and steering column though.
  11. It fell straight into my lap. Sarah's dad just happened to spot on at a garage 2 miles from my house. He called in and it was the owners car and not for sale, but after a bit of haggling he convinced him to sell it. Its had 2 previous owners (1 of which was Gordon Lambs as a demo car) and has a history folder over an inch thick. Its done 176k but it is in amazing condition and runs like a dream. Its even got the optional sheepskin mats! WELL HAPPY WITH IT
  12. out of the closet Damm you Clawley :D I was trying to keep it a secret too
  13. Thanks for that Colin. Do you know what the fuse would be labeled as? I cannot find any fuse that says A/C or anything similar. Would the idle speed still increase if the gas was low?
  14. 1.) Yes it should have a tool kit and jack in the boot, the tool kit is located in a polystyrene holder that sits inside the spare wheel under the boot carpet. The jack is located on the left hand side of the boot, again under the carpet. 2.) The alloys are covered under warranty so get them to a Lexus dealer before may! 3.) The top slot CD player is the newer one so there should be no err3 problems. 4.) The 40k service is the same as the 20k I think - it cost me around £230 but shop around for the cheapest prices. It would be cheaper if you became a gold member and used your discount though.....
  15. Went to Sandals in Jamaica earlier this year, I reckon that would be a superb place for a honeymoon. Not a single brat in sight.............
  16. Sorry to hear about your bad news Sanj, my deepest sympathies :( Bournemouth in June sounds tempting...........
  17. Why not import an manual IS300 from Japan, it would already be RHD..........
  18. Gordon downloaded them from my memory card to his pocket PC, I guess he will put them on his website........
