  1. The offset is the distance from the centre line of the wheel to the wheel mounting face. If the mounting face of the wheel is closer to the car than the centre line of the wheel (as in a lot of deep dish wheels), then this is a negative offset. If the mounting face of the wheel is further away from the car than the centre line of the wheel (as most if not all Lexus wheels are), this is a positive offset. The number is the offset distance in millimetres. I am not sure what the ET stands for but I think it is just some sort of abreviation for offset. In theory, as long as the offset is the same, wider wheels should not be a problem. The things you have to watch out for with wider wheels are arch clearance and suspension component clearance.
  2. You do not need to change any of the electronic part of the ignition at all. You just need to get hold of a complete new lock set (ignition, 2 x door and a boot lock) which comes with new keys. You just then transfer the transmitter part from your old keys into the new ones. The entire lock set is not as expensive as you would think either (under £200 if I remember). PM Chris Shipley for a price :)
  3. Remember HArty, In my lads eyes. your car is the daddy! Nothing comes close. and he now wants a "teenage" lexus, as he puts it amongst his first cars.. On an unrelated note. When could I impose on you to make that modest lighting adjustment, mate? :D :zee: Not this weekend mate, I have a little something to fit to my motor Give me a week or two to get the bits and I'll get it fitted for you........
  4. Great meet again guys, apart from the little intervention by the local c**tstabulary :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: The crowds gathering round Zee's and Loz's motors were great, no other cars got close. Best part of the night had to be the white BMW 320 at the lights. He was revving the **** off it until Zee blipped the throttle! That supercharger whine got both guys in the front hanging out of the windows with a look of 'what the ****** have you got under the bonnet?' on their faces - it was absolutely priceless :D :D
  5. I have had very mixed results with mixing brands. My car came with Pirelli P-Zero Rossos as standard which were pretty reasonable, the rears wore out first which I replaced with Toyo Proxes. The car drove like a bag of ******* until I fitted Toyos on the front as well. Toyos are the best tyres I have ever fitted for grip BUT: I fitted another set of Toyos 3 1/2 months ago and the rears were down to the braiding on the inner edge after 3 months. Granted, this is probably down to me running about 80mm lower than standard but I would have expected more than about 6k out of them. I am currently running with Goodyear Eagle F1's on the rear and Toyos on the front with no trouble whatsoever. The Goodyears grip nearly as well as the Toyos, but it remains to be seen what they wear like. One thing is for sure though, I can't keep spending £300 on rear tyres every 3 months I might just have to start driving like Zee :zee:
  6. MMMMMMMMM Steak and Ale.......... Want to cruise down again then Lozzy boy? Give me a bell and we can do the when and wheres...... You meeting up with us again Zee??
  7. I'll be there between 6.30 and 7, but I will call you Chris and find out if you have moved onto Festival Park or not
  8. Just got back from seeing it, and I agree with you mate - not as good as the first two, but damm fine nontheless. The TX is more than a bit of alright :D
  9. Pull tweeter cover off, remove screw in door pull, remove little cover behind door release handle, remove screw, slide door release surround towards front of car (I think! try it both ways but be warned, it is very tight to get off), when you have done all this, pull panel off door at bottom, unclip door light cable and power window cable, then slide door panel upwards out of window runner. Hope this helps :)
  10. Nice one Rob, talk to you next week bud. Have a few for me, just sorry I couldn't come BTW I am collecting the 'merchandise' tommorow morning....................

  15. That looks f***in ace mate!!! Not long to go now.........
  16. I couldn't understand what you guys were on about when you said they looked dimmer than standard in daylight :duh: I put one in and compared it to standard and it was loads brighter. They have a bit too much of a blue tint in them for comfort though, so I expect to be pulled by the local constabulary before too long No doubt someone will now spend the next 2 hours replying with the legal and moral implications of having slightly blue tinted lamps on your car :shutit: :shutit: :shutit:
  17. I suppose it had to have one decent bit on it Johnny :D We were also talking about gas struts this weekend - I would be interested if anyone finds a suitable kit
  18. One option is to wait a couple of months and then contact Nemesis performance Matt, they are developing a new rear brake kit for the IS as we speak.
  19. Well what can I say?? It was a fantastic weekend with some stunning motors especially on the LOC and TOC stands. Even the weather didn't spoil it (even though it came pretty close on Saturday night ) It was great to meet some new faces as well as the older, uglier ones :D Sorry I didn't get to chat or say bye to everyone but I had to rush off on Sunday dinner Congratulations to Zee, Tim, Bazza and the TOC boys for winning the trophies, your cleaning rituals put mine to shame I am especially happy for Zee :zee: coz I know how much work he puts into his motor :zee: BIG thanks to Friedel and Gerald for coming over from TTE, they gave me some good advice on future projects :winky: The monster was looking mighty fine, I really can't wait to have a ride in that one!! Highlight of the whole weekend had to be the ride in the IS430 though, the look on peoples faces when they hear that V8 rumble is unbelievable B) I think we gave one old-timer a real 'brown trouser moment' when we silently creeped up behind him and gave the throttle a blip :D :D Well done to Mat, Steve and the rest of the organisers for making it a cracking show once again, cheers guys :)
  20. Zee's has got to be 'Chicks love the 'fro' :zee: :zee: :zee:
  21. Hi Fargo, I run a 8.0 x 18" rim on the rear, 44mm offset with 245/35/18's, 60mm lower than standard and it never catches, even with a full car. The exhaust on the other hand.............. :)
