The only repair manual I know of is the genuine LEXUS workshop manuals which the dealers have ! They normally come in sections (ie) Engine,Chassis & Body,but they can be expensive-anything up to £50 each [Edited on 18-2-2002 by Chris Shipley]

There happens to be a Scalatti Red IS200 Demonstrator at the dealership where I work,which is for sale at the moment Does look mighty fine in red !

Go into your nearest toyota or lexus dealer because the do a good quality wheel cleaner !

I agree ! This is the second winter that I've had my IS200 SE.As long as you take easy and are not heavy on the accelerator then you will be alright,besides we don't get that much snow in the uk ! [Edited on 12-2-2002 by Chris Shipley]

It could be but there are about 3 oxygen sensors situated on the exhaust system

It was a standard UK Impreza with 218 bhp 0-60 time was about 6.3 seconds. The running costs were a bit high so I traded it in for a brand new IS200 SE.The new car costs were about the same but I got a lot more std equipment in the IS200 including satelite navigation The Impreza is now in a salvage yard somewhere in the country due to the fact that the new owner lost control of it and drove it into a stone wall

The IS200 gives a bit better mpg than my last car which was an Impreza Turbo.I got roughly 20 mpg from it and about 17-18 mpg if I kept the turbo spinning.Now I get about 27-30 mpg from my IS200 [Edited on 26-1-2002 by Chris Shipley]

All IS200 Drivers beware I have heard this afternoon from my local Lexus dealer that an IS200 owner from Bradford had been carjacked by four men.They attacked him and have stolen his IS200. Make sure you keep your doors locked in built up areas !

My wheels 17's started to blister before the car was three months old.The car has now done 8000 miles and the wheels are completeley knackered ! I have spoken to my local dealer in Staffordshire and they said they are going to replace the after the winter.They also said they have replaced loads and that it is still an ongoing problem

Luckily the only problem I've had so far with my 8000 mile IS200 SE is the wheel corrosion. But I haven't had them replaced yet because LEXUS are supposed to be modifying them ! i.e the back of the wheel is going to be powder coated. Apparently LEXUS GB have returned two large freight planes full of corroded wheels to LEXUS JAPAN
