  1. Good point come to think of it I got higher MPG on Bridgestones alan
  2. ....and what VIN's? Are we talking of the recall that originally coincided with the seat belt recall? If so my DVD was changed at the port of entry and didn't require recall (although the belts did) and mine was delivered December 2005. It is a software upgrade only ie new disk for the Satnav system Need a letter fromlexus though to have it done alan
  3. This is a common rattle and AFAIK it's normally cured without problem. I also get the rattle from time to time and have resorted to thumping the centre speaker cover which does the trick :) There are two causes one is the entire dash needs removal the second is simply putting some felt around the radio and aircon grill It sounds like yours needs the dash out ALL lexus dealers are aware or these rattles and should be able to fix I have had two done in a year Write to Gill want at Lexus and complain they will send a senior person out to sort the car..HOw old is it? alan
  4. Ticking sound cured Needed a small adjustment to the window Lexus woodford said it was the first one they had done so far...all quiet...for now alan
  5. One of many 'nanny' features that cannot be disabled EU partly to blaimalan
  6. I have some and will try else its in for a few days so see waht Lexus say/do alan
  7. Hi that is what I get on average but on pure motorway run at 70 with no traffic close to 40 alan
  8. Going to take it in on Wednesday will post the outcome alan
  9. Were the petrol tanks all filled to the same level before starting your journeys? I find that if I fill my IS250 until the pump shuts off I get artificially high mileage on the tank mileage for the first 50 miles or so. Only when the level is low enough for the needle to move off the high mark does the tank mileage indication read a more accurate MPG. oldcro The tanks were filled to the brim Not the same fuel though The MPG increased from low to high 37 seems the average at 70 MPH Aircon off. I also wondered about the 41..how accurate are the onboard computers..has no else had that MPG in a 250SEL Can engine tolerances be that different? alan
  10. HI I forgot to say all the cars had less than 2500 on the clock One drive was on a very warm day thanks alan
  11. Having driven quite a few IS250s on the exact same drive ( motorway) in similar conditions I find that while one gives 41 MPG another did 37MPG and a third 34.7MPG I wonder why similar cars show quite a range of fuel economy..Anyone have any ideas. Thanks alan
  12. Well At last I had 18 inch wheels fitted with Dunlop tyres As Tel found the ride is bit softer ..the road holding feels better too.. not sure if its the tyres or wheel size but I would not have Bridgestones again alan
  13. HI My car has started to make a ticking sound from the drivers window. Has anyone had this problem I wonder if the glass needs adjusting Also As the rain has started( at last) the wiper blades seem to 'rutt' over the windscreen as they reach the return at the top..could it need new blades already( after 8 months)..if so this will be a wear and tear item.... and I sure costly thanks alan
  14. HI I see Lexus sales in Europe have doubled in the last 12 months Anyone have any idea if this is due to the IS..if not which other car is selling so well Alan
  15. To be honest, I know not alot about the injectors, but thats a different issue. I've only read on here whats happening, but I am assured that the newer IS220's coming through have been sorted, drive just like the 220d sport, which is a brilliant drive. Aaaaaaanyway. I'll always be honest when it comes to Lexus, cos there's no point telling tales, and to be honest, there's nothing to lie about. We make great cars and give better service than the others, and we're still trying to get better, with the new model line up thats coming, we're miles ahead of the competition. Aint life great!! :D The more you drive the lexus the better it gets. I am sure I would not change it any other make on the market at present. I had a BMW 3 series new diesel and the finish, sound system, leather are all inferior..not made up by better road holding and on run flats..talk about a hard ride. The original complaints us lexus Is 'pioneers 'had were were justified and I would like to think that thanks in part 'to our decisive action there is not ONE recent post on rattles etc. To me that is what the forum is al'l about to enjoy the positive and help lexus to fix the few issues that would make this car 5 stars plus alan
  16. Wicked wheels are very good Our local Lexus dealership use them as well alan
  17. thanks that explains the rattles..not a May build when things seemed to get better alan
  18. I am waiting for lexus to quote me on the Hoshis Tyres ...I have a good dealer near quoted for the dunlops 120 pounds each fitted..What did you pay for them alan

  20. I've only had it a week and I commute into the West End and get 26-27. I had 32 to Bham at the weekend though having said that I drive it like a VTEC to really get it driving 22 MPG in heavy traffic 41 motorway steady combined 27 mpg alan
  21. I want to sell mine and buy 18 inch wheels mine are under 100o miles with 1cm scratch on onewhich I have had painted by wicked wheels and look brand new I hope to recover about a half of the cost of the 18 ...you can hope alan
