  1. I would'nt even bother looking for it, when you go to the trouble of getting one, fitting it, then seeing it on you will wonder why you ever bothered in the first place. I just bought a HID torch instead, now that is bright, lights the boot up lovely, and so it should at 35 watts. G7UHF.
  2. I had this problem too in the centre of Birmingham, called the R.A.C the engineer said the battery fitted by the manufacturer is not the one recommended by the R.A.C and told me to get a XM650L, CCA525, 60Ahr battery for it, at least thats what it said on his computer. I've said all along the battery is'nt up to the job and its nice to see that others are having the same problem, the more complaints the better.
  3. Many thanks for your help, will check it out. Regards. g7uhf pity i couldnt get a reply from someone on....... "GOLD"
  4. Does anyone know the colour of the auxiliary wire, to be found in the drivers footwell fuse compartment. I need to fit a 2way radio and think it maybe best to wire it to this point. Many Thanks.
  5. and my pacemaker battery has just been replaced , you could borrow that.
  6. As from Monday 4th August Lexus/Toyota Coventry has changed hands from Nick Whale to Listers, will things improve from the low standards achieved to date. PS. im a gold member without the Avatar, honest !
  7. I've got 6 Piaa 9006 extreme whites if anyone interested, i cant wait to get rid of them. :yack: using 4 H.I.D's now :D :D :D
  8. I had Piaa extreme white bulbs on my IS200 they are now languishing in the outhouse as i think they are c*** just highly over rated, expensive, halogen bulbs with a bit of blue paint on to make them look prety. I have now fitted 2 sets of H.I.D's from www.HID-Online.com to the low beam and the foglamps, there a tad bright i must say, and a whole heap brighter than the IS300 factory fit H.I.D's. :D :D :D
  9. So how do we do that then, im assuming it cant be that hard and as it does'nt come under the official secrets act i belive someone will tell us in graphic detail. <_< ( how come i never use gold, what a waste of £25.)
  10. My tyres have been on for 2yrs 8 months now with no problems but the car has only done 25k, spare unused as yet, as for the make of tyre, Dunlop SP Sport 9000. You will be aware that tyres can be sent back to the manufacturer under complaint.
  11. Buzz, when you say trailer do you mean your now living in a horsebox.
  12. Ive sent you a pvt on this one, hope you get it ok. :D
  13. TTE number is AM28831 and the other number on the box is PZ439-C0180-00 one of those numbers will be correct.
  14. Buzz, Dream on sister. Im already donating the 29" to the trailer park. :D :D
  15. Hi George, you wont like this but that second set of H.I.D's i bought are now in the fog lamps and work perfectly, had to change the fuse up to 20 amp from 15 amp. Am going out in the countryside tonight to give them a try. :D
  16. Buzz, when you goin to move off that mobile home site, get a proper job and buy a real house like the rest of us.
  17. Hello George. Bad news im affraid, the high beam wont work ! I conected them up and found that when you put the low beam on the high beam came on as well. I phoned the office, spoke to Janet (who knows everything there is to know about everything to do with H.I.D. and the history of the entire universe) she offered a few sugestions on how to alternatly fit them, one of which is to remove the entire wiring harness they supply, make up a short lead using the harness and plugging the 9006 plug straight into the inverter the output then goes to the H.I.D. lamp, change the fuses in the fusebox infront of the battery from 10 amp to 15 amp for the low beam, and away you go. It works because that is how mine is, no problems and its a lot neater with no trailing wires to the battery. Let me know if you want more details, if you dont want to make up your own short lead they will supply 2 ready made for the job. The lead allows you to connect the plug that would go on the back of the halogen bulb directly to the inverter but the polarity is wrong so the lead, when made will switch the polarity for you. :D
  18. LOC Police, + "severe"+ dressing down, Yummy i cant wait. :winky: :D
  19. I've just fitted these HID lamps (4100K) to the low beam, i am very impressed with the difference, so much so that i have ordered them for the high beam too, they should be here on wednesday. The first set took about 1 hour to fit and are also 4100K to match, needless to say i will be out driving on wednesday evening. This product is highly recommended for anyone with a 200 who is not satisfied with the factory fitted lamps, all i need to do now is the fog lamps ! and get rid of those HIGHLY OVER RATED, EXPENSIVE, Piaa bulbs. :D
  20. I use mine to plug in the D.A.B. radio and the minidisc, would love to see a D.A.B. radio in the car as standard, minidisc slot and a port / ports for the lastest technology. :)
  21. These remote keys operate on a spot frequency of 433.920Mhz in the UHF band which happens to be within the UK Amateur Radio allocation of frequencies. However because the receiver units in cars are so **** poorly made they are wide open to any other radio transmissions made on frequencies approximatly 4Mhz either side of the centre frequency of 433.920Mhz. Furthermore the key will have a transmit power of about 10 milliwatts, compare this with an amateur radio station who can be licensed to use up to 400 watts and a buisness or government radio system which can use high amounts of power to cover there needs and you can see the problems. The difficulties you are encountering will be due to the high number of 2way radio systems in use in the city centres today and i forsee the problem will only get worse. Most amateur radio operators do not live in the city centres due to the high levels of electrical noise and other business/government radio operators which make conditions unworkable. Cellular G.S.M. radio masts have no effect on these receiver units as they operate in the 900 to 950 Mhz band, double that of your key. Flourescent lamps, street lamps, and anything else not connected with radio will have no effect on the operation of the key, other than a flat battery. If you do get problems hold the key VERY close to the lower edge of the windscreen and move it around slowly while pressing the button untill the doors unlock (UNLESS SOMEONE CAN TELL US WHERE THE RECEIVER UNIT ANTENNA IS LOCATED) in which case get the key as close to it as possible and you should be ok. M.J.S.Electronics/ ( ham radio operator)
  22. Hi Wallace / guys. I bought G7 UHF as its the station callsign and because it was available at £499, so together with my illuminated scuff plates, i can see non of them when im driving, how good is that.
  23. I wonder if someone could explain to me why it is that when you return to the dealer with "the wheel problem" under warranty, you are offered "refurbished wheels"and not brand new replacements, second set now showing signs of corrosion. Im thinking that we are been short changed here, after all if you go to the dealer with other problems you get a brand new replacement and not a refurb. If your wheels are not up to the job Lexus dont ask me to make allowances for your problems. I'll be back. Gold member now, where do i get the logo from.
  24. My pet hates are - no power point in the boot or for the rear passengers, and check out that poxy light in the boot. As for the navigation, dont bother its not worth the money, if you want a navigation system buy the "Garmin Streetpilot3" and you can always use it portable for less than half the price. Otherwise not bad, very popular with thieves.
