  1. Oh not me dad, i wouldnt do that, i couldnt understand why it wouldnt work so i got the other and did a bit of investigating and found it was the first inverter that is a bit duff. i know they are £2.99 in Maplins but the voltage range is 180v to 800v output and the lexus ones run at 115v output, besides farnell have always been expensive. SO COME ON BOYS WHERE IS "TTE" THE PLATE MANUFACTURERS, ANYONE GOT AN E.MAIL FOR THEM. :(
  2. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh dear me, now ive got a broken invertor, who knows where TTE live i need a new one :o
  3. Hi. fitted mine today, NICE, dont need the doors now, if anyones interested in a pair of plat ice, let me know !!! :D :D :D :D :D :D
  4. Hello. Yes "tick in the box" for me too, front o/s corner has a nice matt finish, must be a "friday night" paint job. As a point of intrest my VW Bora 150 sport has a much better paint job than the Lexus. :o
  5. Can anyone tell me just how expensive the illuminated scuff plates are for the IS200 and how easy they are to fit. :duh: Thanks. G7UHF The dealer cant be bothered to call me back with a price
  6. Hello. Yes ive had the LS430's fitted for about 6 months on my IS200SE, easy to fit and look much better but you will need some orange bulbs to go in, in place of the clear ones. I got them changed under warranty as the others were collecting dirt and yucky muck around the edges otherwise about £20/25 a set i think. B)
  7. Hello. I too have had my side repeaters changed twice now due to dirt building up inside the lense, both times changed under warranty, the last time i had the LS430 ones fitted and yes they look much better. Remember you will need to put the amber bulbs in, inplace of the white ones you have now. I have to laugh when i see the SC430 with those IS side markers fitted. G7UHF.
  8. Hello to all armrest lovers. Thats a thought, i might ask if they could look at mine when the svc comes around, i would like it put right but im not going to loose any sleep over it, besides who would notice such a small gap, and it is small as you say, only a mm or so. I thought it may be a small increase in the length of the feet on the bottom of the new box you had to screw into the centre console, if you get the old box and put it on a flat surface you will see it is not level, but raised at the end which was nearest the gear controller, so as i see it, if the feet on the new box at that end are a fraction higher it would cause a bulge at a point forward of those feet. What do you think. Im off now cuz me brain hurts. Bad news guys, i want two power points in the boot, for me fridge and maglite charger. AND a decent light in the boot instead of that stupid candle. HELP ! please.
  9. Hello. I have just installed the armrest in my october 2000, IS 200 SE, i also have the same bulge in the centre console in the same place as you described. It took me about 1.5 hrs, being very carefull, and its only when the console is back in place that you can see the problem. I intend to investigate it later but for now im just happy to have it fitted and to be making use of it. The price on a good day from a uk dealer was £275 for the lot but i had to fit it myself, however it is not as hard as may first appear, just make sure you fit it on a day when you got out of bed on the good side !! :D Still overpriced though G7UHF.
  10. Seems to me that there is a nation of 200 owners who, for a reasonable price, would like to have the original arm rest fitted to there cars. Im just wondering if lexus uk has WOKEN UP to this fact and is prepared to allow a group buy at a more realistic price for some bits of plastic, foam and a patch of leather. HARD WORK isnt it lexus uk. G7UHF. (ANGRY)
  11. hello. Yes thanks for the input but the antenna i saw was approx 6" glossy and looked a lot better than the one they supply with the car. I bought something similar from the Honda garage but its not glossy otherwise its not to bad, reception is quite good. I see a lot of guys say "short antenna" in there cars profile so they must exist. As a point of intrest if anyone needs a replacement antenna for the 200 / 300 then Maplins do the same glossy finish antenna as on the car at a fraction of the price, about £8. G7UHF :hocus-pokus:
  12. Hello. Was in london recently and seen a IS200 with a short glossy radio antenna. Can anyone tell me where to obtain it, how much, and most importantly the performance on all bands compared with the original, as it may look good but if it dont perform then it aint much use, price would also be helpfull. Thanks G7UHF.
  13. Yes thats true, bought a 200se 2 yrs ago from new and asked for a sport spoiler to be fitted and yes they did, no problem. The car was from Jemca, Edgware, London. Now i want an armrest, could be hard work.
  14. I dont have to pay, but for those of you outside the warranty period it could be a suprise when the bulbs do go.
  15. Well good luck boys when a front fog lamp goes. I bought 6 Piaa extreme white bulbs, when it came to fitting the fog lamps the original bulbs wont come out, so the nice dealer said, bring it up and we will change them for you, so off i go..... the dealer cant get them out either, breaking one bulb in the process. We will get you 2 new fog lamps for monday he says, warranty replacement. So beware if your bulbs go you may be in for a hefty bill as it wont just be bulbs you'll be buying, oh the cars just over two years old and he did say that this is an issue they are having with lexus. G7UHF.
  16. Hello. Take a look at the Garmin web site, look for the STREETPILOT 3 its the same price but you can move it easily from one car to the other in 2 mins, has voice guidance and colour screen, if you do buy get the DLX VERSION its alot more for a little more. G7UHF.
  17. Hello guyz. Anyone tell me where i can obtain a short glossy finish antenna for the sound system in a 200se, also how does it compare with the factory fitted antenna on all bands or should i not bother. Seen one on a 200 in London and it looked good, but looks aint everything. Oh the cost if known would be helpfull as well. Thanks. G7UHF.
  18. Hello. Sorry about the capitals thing, ok hope i can clarify the point, the battery on the car is the one fitted by lexus, but the R.A.C. engineer who looked at it when he came to get me started and said he thought it was not the correct one for the car so he checked his computer and the R.A.C. recommend a more powerfull battery, details of which i cant remember now. I dont want to "invalidate my warranty" on the car by fitting the one the R.A.C. suggest so i may chose to wait untill that has expired. It continues to be a problem. Hope that helps. G7UHF. Yes to clarify, the R.A.C. engineer and myself belive the battery isnt up to the job.
  19. MY NEW 200SE WAS VANDALISED BY SOME "LOVELY LITTLE CHILDREN" 7 WEEKS AFTER DELIVERY, DRIVERS DOOR, REAR QUARTER PANEL CUSTOMISED WITH SHOPPING TROLLEYS REPAIRED @ JEMCA EDGWARE RD LONDON, NICE JOB AS YOU WOULD EXPECT BUT £1270 AND JUST ABOUT TO GET MY PROTECTED N.C.D. what are you lovely little sods up to tonight. G7UHF.
  20. YES FUNNY OLE THING THAT, IVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, IF YOU ASK ME THE BATTERY AINT UP TO THE JOB, HAD THE R.A.C. OUT AND THE GUY SAID THE BATTERY FITTED IS NOT THE ONE THEY RECOMMEND, CANT REMEMBER WHICH ONE HE SAID WAS, BUT ANY R.A.C. MAN WILL HELP YOU BY CHECKING HIS COMPUTER, JUST KEEP CALLING THEM OUT ITS FREE, I DO. G7UHF.
  21. :duh: HELLO. THE PROBLEM IS THAT SOMEONE HAS DECIDED THAT ALL RADIO KEY FOBS WILL OPERATE ON A FREQUENCY OF 433.920Mhz IN THE UHF BAND, THE UK ALLOCATION OF FREQUENCIES TO RADIO AMATEURS IN THIS COUNTRY IS 430 TO 440Mhz ON A SECONDARY BASIS, AND WITH A MAXIMUM POWER OUTPUT OF 400 WATTS ITS EASY TO SEE HOW YOUR KEY FOB, PUTTING OUT ABOUT 10 MILLIWATTS TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CAR CAN EASILY BE TEMPORARILY DISABLED, I KNOW CUZ IVE TRIED IT. THE PRIMARY USER OF THIS ALLOCATION IS H.M.GOVERNMENT'S M.O.D MOULD SYSTEM AND THEY ALSO USE CONSIERABLE POWER. IM NOT SUGESTING THAT AMATEURS ARE TOTALY TO BLAME AS THERE ARE A WHOLE GROUP OF OTHER USERS WHO OPERATE ON NEARBY FREQUENCIES, AND BECAUSE THE RECEIVER UNITS BUILT INTO CARS ARE SO ***** POORLY DESIGNED THE RECEIVER WILL BE OVERLOADED BY A STRONG ENOUGH SIGNAL MANY Mhz EITHER SIDE OF THE OPERATING FREQUENCY. THE WAY TO OVERCOME THIS PROBLEM IS TO HOLD YOUR KEYFOB AGAINST THE WINDSCREEN AND MOVE IT AROUND UNTILL THE CAR UNLOCKS (we now need someone to tell us where the antenna is) THE SIGNAL SHOULD BE SUFFICENT TO UNLOCK THE CAR. NOW HAV'NT WE LEARNT A LOT TODAY GIRLS. AMATEUR G7UHF.
