Its really good. I commute 82 miles everyday. Peterborough to Leicester and back again. Thats front door to car park and car park to front door. Train costs: £18.80 before 9 or £11.15 after 9 (with the use of a 19-25 railcard) Car Cost: before setting off, i full tanked the car, and refulled again when i got back. 88.9p a litre - i used 8.911 liters which costs £8.72 for 82miles.. not bad for a 2.5l :-)

Heated Seats..
illestjt replied to illestjt's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
any advice what to do or say? Ovb this isnt right, and something has been missed out or gone wrong along the line yet they dont want to look into anymore as they are happy that it starts working after 10mins? -
Where shall I start, The 'driver' leather seat covering only, was replaced as it was 'sagging' .... after i got the car back the heated/cooled seat worked fine but the passenger side heated seat only doesnt work ( the cooling system works as normal for the passenger side) Lexus then replaced the parts of the heating elements on the passenger side however whenever i use it its takes atleast 10minutes to work...but sometimes i just think its my body heating it up because doesnt feel so where as good as the driver side.... where as on the driver side you can feel the heat within a 1min of starting, whereas the passenger side nothing... lexus mentioned that they replaced the parts and it works however its not working as before, as before it used to heat up as fast as the driver side...but this doesnt seem to be a problem for them, they claim it works after a long period...and they admit its a longer period that the driver side but doesnt see it as a problem...but i do. so my question, if someone can find out for me In the morning, how long does your passenger seat take to warm up? is the heating of the passenger seat related to waiting for the engine to warm up? cause even on cold mornings, flicking the heated seat on the driver side and it heats straightaway. all fuses have been checked, ventilator works fine on both sides and the light on the switch works as normal. i.e red on head and blue on cooling

Yeh, £5 is minor and its diesel so wouldn't be as much as you get from £5 of petrol!

30k Service £220
illestjt replied to illestjt's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Don't believe this, when I first originally called up Lexus Leicester I was quoted £220 inc vat for a 30K service I was invoiced £169 (it included £42.50 refund for being overcharged on a set of disc pad , gold members discount 15% and vat) until then, I never really questioned this, until i realised that i put the original price i was quoted for online to see what other members have been quoted on the ownersclub £191.30 (£220 inc vat) -28.70 (15% Gold Members Discount) -42.50 (overcharged amount on previous work) +18.02 (vat) = £138.12. But now I've been told the service was £252.40, and that after gold members discount, refund its ..£169.41 Could i argue this? -
Steering Clunk?
illestjt replied to skyetripper's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
I have a similar problem, when moving the steering you hear a "clunking" noise doesn't very nice. Including that I have also experienced: -A lot of play in the steering -The car doesn't drive as nice, when on the motorway I dont feel in control, while switching lanes the steering is awful (like a car on a windy day, without the wind) Went in once to Lexus Leicester, they claimed they taken it for a test drive and found it to be the tyre pressure. Got the car back, still the same problem. Went again the on friday, I insisted that I will accompany them during the test drive and only then the problem was noted. (Wasn't to happy about having to go back and sort this issue out). gonna be booked in some time this week. -Steering rack, rear brakes caliper recall has already been done and yet the problem still exists. -

Looks good, but I rather spend £15 at Nandos lol. -
Who told you it was the bushes, and which bushes? As the car is still under warranty, if it is bushes why have they not been replaced under warranty by your Lexus dealer? If you have worn bushes it is pointless to keep getting alignment/tracking done until the bushes are replaced. Well explained the problem to lexus leicester and they reported nothing was wrong with steering, it was my tyre pressures (however even after changing this the problem still exists)..but it differently doesnt feel right. As im not a technical minded person, I was unsure what it may be, thus went to a local garage to have it tracked however when I explained to them whats going on they advised me it sounds like the bushes and its something i need to get lexus to look at. I now no its nothing to do with alignment as this problem is completely different.

I had exactly the same problem on my is250 se MM, it took almost 2 years of convincing to different lexus garages to sort the flippin problem, the car had numerous geometry checks and always came back fine. You would get a vague felling on the road and extra tramlining on normal roads, no confidence to overtake and a sway feeling when driving above 70 - like its a windy day. However last fortnight ago I had lexus Reading look at it and the car was taken on a 40 mile test drive up and down the m4, they were then convinced that there was a problem and the steering rack has now been replaced (£3000 charge to Lexus). Keep persisting and stating it is not safe and they will have to rectifiy the problem, before the steering rack was changed it was a really poor drive. Now it seems like normal, responsive and confident. this sounds exactly like my problem. lexus leicester said it was the tyre pressures, however even after this i still feel the same problem. anything around 60-70.. and you can really feel the steering being arkward however around town around 30-40 everything is fine. did you feel as if the car was working against you when over taking?

illestjt replied to illestjt's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
called them up...as the service been put back to friday due the weather conditions. They said the 10k service and 30k service is different and include a filter change. lexus lincoln quoted £224.xx for 30k service, i also noted that der 10k service is £220.xx so has time pushed the prices up? and is the £220 price (before gold discount) OK?! -
