  1. i want good handeling also and if i get the 30mm springs it might rub so at least i can set the coilovers less or more drop to suit if u get what i mean lol

All depends on your budget Scott, think Tein basics start from about 400GBP but i've heard they are not great, save up and get a good set for about 600 - 700 GBP

  2. ive heard HKS hypermax 2 and the Buddyclub club ones are a popular choice on the NZ forum, was in a 200sx last week that has Teins on it with the EDFC but they were stiffer than my D2's, and he had them on the softest setting. If your only looking fot a 30mm drop then why not just got some Tein lowering springs

  3. Picked up my new motor yesterday evening. Have to say im very happy with it. Definitly prefer it over my old integra Type R. Its absolutly mint. Grade 4, 58k klms, fully serviced and guaranteed. The only mod is a cat back exhaust. Not sure what type it is as the small plate on the backbox is a little scratched from hitting a speed ramp with 5 on board, so all i can see is the last three letters "SMA" with what looks like some serial numbers below. Oh and the little jap that had previously owned it has the lexus is200 badges on the back. not sure wheter to take them off or not. Any way heres some pics, only have the ones off the guys website.

Looking good mate any chance of bigger pics!

  4. nice one Am impressive results :D

Just curious AM what made you go for the Exedy pressure plate instead of the TRD one? is there any differences they look identical to me

  5. My IS200SE is running standard wheels at the moment

    CarTint6.jpg

but they need a refurb after my throttle stuck open :tsktsk: last night

and some damage was caused by the kerb of the 7' width limit I was

    negotiating frantically at about 60mph.

I have seen some good condition Lexus 17" rims with tyres on E-Bay that I really like,

but am not completely sure so your opinions please...

    Thanks

    Wozza

hmmm depends on how much you get them for, they look in good nick but i have always preferred the 5 spoke ones you currently have on

  6. Thought i posted this up before but couldnt find it anywhere. So im getting a clicking noise coming form where i think is the front drivers side caliper, it only happens the odd time and usually at low speeds when i brake and come to a full stop, i was thinking maybe it the pad moving in the caliper(maybe wrong ones were used previously) Anyone know what im talking about or has experienced the same issue, and have a possible solution? new pads on the way soon so maybe that might fix the problem!

  7. Not it doesn't cause theres slightly different stereo wiring and alsorts.

Really not worth the effort to install.

    Stav

Seller says that it will work on 99-2006 is200,is300, altezza? would definetly be interested in this for mine. But as i have an aftermarket headunit, anybody know would it still work with my setup, and would it have irish mappping?

  8. Hello All :)

After installing my HKS Silent Hi Power Exhaust on. I need a recommended induction kit for my RS? need your opinions plz. Thx ppl ;)

Do you have an air/furl controller on yours yet? To make the most of fitting an induction kit and exhaust you should get your A/F ratio adjusted to help increase maximum gains, had the Apexi induction kit on mine too but i thought it was a bit too loud and their was bit of hesitation between 3-4000rpm. why not try a replacement panel filter first, see how you get on. Do you mind me asking where and how much you got the exhaust for?

  9. As far as the difference is there is none except for the engine
Most RS200 i've seen are lower than a standard IS200 especially at the rear...
So which is true, about suspension difference?

Altezza's not an uncompromised handling/driver's car then, not a homologation special - just fatter engine?

You will struggle to get an altezza with leather
Seems there's basic, Z and L. Z and L have better tyres and lots more. Only difference between Z and L is L has 'leather and excene', and an all-leather seats extra-cost option. There's also 6MT or 5AT - 5AT lacks sports suspension, oil cooler, fuel consumption gauge, aero grille, and LSD and TRC are extra-cost options. Sunroof is extra-cost option on all models - what chance of that?

Looks like I need 6MT L-pack with leather option and sunroof option. Is that being too picky?

Na its not being picky just very hard to find one to match all your needs. Most Altezzas are Z's. Over 100 Altezzas for sale in Ireland!

  10. I's say go forced induction (I do the PE turbo kit which is a good buy)

the full TRD kit which gives 250 bhp is £6k for the parts alone..........also the BTCC team struggled to get more than 273 bhp with quite a lot off dosh being thrown at the engine

Cheers for the info Dave, ideally I'd like to go for the Blitz s/c kit but finding it hard to source on at a decent price

  11. 220 at fly?

Where you get that from? TTE say 202 at the fly. It's only the Six pot engine not the 4 pot like yours.

    Stav

Ah that was just a rough guess, considering Lee got 213 out of his at the rolling road in March over here, and i thought the only major mod he mad was the s/c kit

  12. the main problem with N/A tuning is that once you have reached a certain level and spent quite a bit of money getting there then you can go no further.

At least if you buy the sc'er or a turbo then you can always rebuild your engine in the future and raise the boost etc etc. you have many more options with forced induction than N/A.

Although some people simply just prefer the N/A route. suppose personal opinion has a lot to do with it to.

Would a N/A be more reliable and less likely to cause problems than forced induction?

  13. A lot of head work for a start mate. also forged internals to save weight on moving engine parts.

It is very expensive to get big N/A power.

Thats what i thought, the guy i was talking to about this said it would be cheaper than a blitz super charger kitwhich i was originally going for. Lets wait and see what he comes back to me with!

  14. At engine apparently so pretty disappointed,

Not sure if it's fuelling or loosing boost but gonna look into it anyway.

    Stav

That is quite a loss if its at the fly. Should be about 220 @ fly. Mine has the same torque figure, yours should be a hell of a lot more with the s/c. Did the dyno lads give any sort of clue what could be wrong? Where did you get it dyno'ed? Hope you get it sorted

  15. Not the most impressive result but it's a starting point.

Find all the faults then start the upgrades.

    Clicky

    Stav

Ps, Click on more videos from this user and see the Skyline run. He was loosing Traction on the rollers but still pretty impressive.

Nice clip stav are them figures at the fly or at the wheels?

  16. yeah other problem I have is that my PC is kaput and is soo old I am gonna buy a new one instead of upgrading everything but the drives.

    more money (studies empty wallet)

you can buy a keyboard and mouse for the xbox 360 linky

Cheaper than spending 2 grand on a new PC to run a game smoothly. :whistling:

@ Rob currently working on getting my old xbox 360 flashed to play copied games and the right software to get it on xbox live without getting banned! Fixed my old 360 last week using the x clamp fix. It working perfect now, no more 3 red lights of death! :winky:
