  1. the Altezza and IS 200 are completly different engines, the only way to fit the cusco one is to turn it around, if you have a supercharger fitted it becomes a very tight fit and needs modification

    see here

I know the engines are totally different, just on the packaging that came with mine its said it was for the AS200/altezza, so i thought it would fit both engines, i thought the AS200 had the same 1G-FE engine as the IS200?

  2. the concept of the the strut bar needs to be considered

the idea of the brace is to brace the suspension mounts to reduce the flex in the cars chassis

there is no strength to the cusco brace it is made of lightweight alloy, its strength lies in its direct straight position between the mounts,

forces put upon it are purely lateral, if it was ( shaped it would bend and flex taking the weakest path, the alternative would be to equal the forces out by making it equalateral in shape as in ( ) shape, so the forces would act against each other and provide the strength required

So your saying my Cusco one is no good?

  3. Not sure about this Rob, but I would think it would place more stress on the upper pillow ball mounts (?) as it is mounted in front of them, rather than in line? There would be quite a bit of strain on the bolts as the car flex I would have thought.

I'd sell the Prolex one and buy one that would fit easier, Cusco do one for the Altezza which should fit the IS200 too. heres the one i have

  4. Ok, we've all seen them, the Pentagon sony woofers. But what im looking for, which i can't find is version with red center and the cone is white. All i can seem to find is all red or all black/silvery gray combination. Is it some kind of limited edition with the red and white version or they stopped doing them etc. I want one, but can't anywhere that sells one with that colour! Yes its 2:12am and im still searching!!

Sony woofers aint the best to be honest, had 2 before in my civic, now i have 1 db audio and its much better

  5. Theres loads of them for sale in the south... it's worth traveling to get a good one.... i could of bought mine from a dealer in Kerry but in the end i got exactly what i wanted in Dublin which ain't just done the road for me... ;)

keep searching or at least drive a few more before making your mind up....

rang the fela there a few hours ago and he said hes had his local mechanic out to look at it and he says they have it sorted the car is too cheap to pass really and its only just in the country,

anyone no if anything can be done with the nav system to get it goin again or at least make use of it

Only think you can do to make use of the motorized monitor is to get the system converted by a place called soarer.tv i think, your looking at about 600 GBP and all that he does is change the tv to be able to tune in TV channels, but you do need to still have the standard headunit in place. Alternatively you can replace the standard screen with a after market one and hook up a dvd player to it. But i think getting the sat nav working is next to impossible unless you go to Lexus and thats about 4 grand!!

  6. just home from driving a tezza rs 200 lovely car nice and quick have a few issues id like help with if ya can the idle is very low almost cutting out and if revd up and let drop down it cut out twice engine was warm so help please?

second is that it has sat nav on the dash is there some way of getting the language swapped to english with upto date irish/english maps in the boot there was a cable with two sockets in it one was dvd and cant remember what the other was again help??

heading now shortly to look at and drive an is200 sport and told all partys id hopefully have an answer tonite but dont want any hassle with the beams if its goina cost a heap to put right again im sure its something simple but HELP?

Idling problems? Walk away from it,you want to be getting a car thats running perfectly from when u get it, not having to replace faulty sensors/ecu that could be causing the idling issue. Is it a totally standard RS? or has there been much done to it? U can have a drive of mine if u live around Dublin and see how a proper rs200 runs!

  7. Im sure Steve and the boys will look after your lexus mate :winky:

I would of come up to see you mate, but im off to Dublin friday, for the weekend :D

Looking forward to seeing your posts when all up and running :winky:

:offtopic: Can meet up with ya if u like Gord i live in Dublin and will be back from Estonia on Firday morning! Just a thought! Show ya the site and sounds of the Dublin Underground!!

  8. I would always say tyres first.

Tyres are the most important part of a car, only thing keeping you on the road!!!!!!

Best place to get ARB's/ best ARBS to get??

Yellow TRD one's, Mr Morse has set (new) for sale :D

Shipping would be expensive for me so i think! must drop him a PM so

  9. Just got round to taking some pictures a couple of little mod's if they can be called that:

One half of the foot wells HERE. Still need to do the driver's side but not in any rush. Oh, the big square in the middle's reflection of the light off an allu' plate.

Not quite as nice as the Monster's new set of threads, or as in your face as Dowd's recent venture into vinyl's but thought i'd do it as it's going to be a few months before i can buy anything that resembles a body kit. but HERE'S my attempt. If taken any further away from the car you wouldnt see them!

    What do you think?

Are the sticker su have put on the car actually parts you have put in the car? maybe some bigger pics would help

  10. get em within usa cheap as cheaps :( just us uk peeps get *******:(

bk from holiday they all fitted (went stright on perfect)

    will test em tomorrow :)

They look very similar to my D2's apart from the colour! What brand are they?

  11. So lads trying to get the most out of the handling before i go adding more power, so does anyone know would a set of uprated ARB's of a set of Toyo T1-Rs be a better choice. running on some crappy "ANT tyres" at the moment, im sure this cant be adding towards the handling!! Opinions please!

  12. Welcome to the site mate. if its only a 30mm drop your after springs are fine but as others have said you can get more out of coilovers but they cost a bit extra too. Welcome to the site! Let the modding begin!! Blue is the best colour!

  13. first of all, the teins will just bolt up. I think the pillow mounts they come with will be fine. However they will be really, really soft. Like softer than standard.. yuck! If i was you, i'd look at a set of Buddy club N+ damper... they have those in england right? Either get a set of those or tein flex.. super street are also way, way too soft.

Also, d2's a the worst coil overs ever made. How do i know this? I work in the aftermarket parts industry. D2's, K Sports, G4's HDS, they're all utter crap. Get teins, buddy clubs, or some other Japanese brand of coilovers

Buy a quality set of coilovers now, so you don't have the replace them agian in only 6 months.

D2's on mine, not a problem with them

  14. I have added some RCA plugs to the stock amp and its not that hard to do realy and sounds ok for now.

I will be making up an adapter for my new head unit to fit the stock wiring loom and was wondering if others are still wanting them???

I may be able to make some more if interested pm me

Ps Im making it for a IS200 SE 02 just got to find the correct plug :D

As far as i know you can only buy these plugs in bulk from the supplier so may not work out that cheap :crybaby:
