  1. welcome to LOC :D

1/ got my Apexi pod from "takakaira" japan, aluminium box has been discontinued

2/Wheels are the same so no problems with fitting

3/Springs will fit too... but most Tezza's i've seen are lower than the IS200 as standard so you might not get the desired drop

    http://www.takakaira.co.jp/

    ;)

    thanks

    noel

i ll order one now, just the start of many mods lol

Might be worth getting an Apexi Neo too, so you can adjust your air/fuel ratio to make the most of the induction kit. But if you have loads of engine mods planned an Apexi Power fc( aftermarket ecu) might be a better option

  2. What time did you run in the end ????

Ah it wasnt even a proper quarter mile so i think my best time was about 12.06. fastest cars were around 9.6, the big boy Predator performance skylines and AI Auto sport Evo's, would have been nice if they organised it by class like they were supposed to. Not much you can do against an STI or a heavily tuned Prelude! Supercharger should sort that!

    12.06????? typo? :shutit:

Must have been well short of quater mile if thats the case.... :crying:

Lamborghini Gallardo does it in around 12 seconds.... :winky:

Ye wasnt even the full length of the straight i'd say about 300m

  3. What time did you run in the end ????

  4. That car is mint, I have never seen one of these before and its gorgeous.

    Nice Motor mate

lovely car lads saw it on in the flesh on Sunday at Japfest, never got a spin in it though Bobby! next time maybe. It was attracting a lot of attention from the crowds. Well wear Bobby

  5. MacRS200 Where are you

i am in kent uk.take it ur in manchester.

Power fc is a complete ECU replacement, just unplug your old ecu and in with the Power FC.

:offtopic: @Mac: Do you know if you can adjust when the VVTI kicks in on the Power fc?? I think i would benefit more getting a power fc as im running mine on biofuel and would like to get it mapped to 104 Ron( Biofuel Octane rating) and adjust the VVTI timing, i can get a POwer FC for about 500 Euro, Camcon about 250, same price approx for tuning

  6. Hey there,

Welcome to the LOC... good luck in your hunt!

    All the best,

    Jamie

Welcome to the site mate, There is plenty of original altezza's for sale on carzone.ie so i wouldnt go near any with lexus badges etc, because it could end up being an as200, which you dont want.

there is a few lads over on Tezzaworld selling Altezza's might be worth a look. Pm me if you want a link as i don't want to link to another site here! :shutit:

  7. hello just wondering iv seen a few products and just wanted to know what you can actually do and how much difference they make to performance.

iv seen one called cam-con and the apexi power f.c.

so how much can you alter the vvti to kick in ? can u change it to kick in around 3 000 rpm instead of standard.

    any one help ???????

    thanks

    daveRS200

    Info on Power FC:

    power fc

Save your money and dont get a camcon, Power fc does everything a camcon does and more, No power gains with camcon as far as im aware, only slightly better torque

You might find it hard to get a Power FC as they arent being mass produced any more by Apexi, back ordered a few weeks from most suppliers, eBay sellers dont have them in stock even though they state they have "X" Available

  8. Sounds all gravy booby :D

Problem is that you had the dynos done on different machines, don't want to pee on your bonfire but as you know dyno results are a bit controversial on here

I am sure that you know the transmission losses are estimated to give power at the flywheel, so there is room for error between 2 set-ups on different dynos. Also things like air temperature and altitude have an effect on power.

So not saying there are no gains on bio just that you have an inconsistent base line for comparison.

I know Mac but, ill go with the higher one!! There was another guy with me in a standard Altezza he got 195, Dizz got 196 in the same place a month ago, thats good enough for me

  9. Sounds good, what exactly does the kit do/contain of ??? is it easy to fit ? and how much is the bio fuel at the moment as im sure it will go up sooner or later

Its basically like a small piggy back ecu, it connects onto your injectors and onto the Battery. The unit automatically adjusts to whatever fuel you put in the car so if you cant find a garage that sells E85 you can just use normal unleaded. Over In Ireland, more and more garages are adopting the pumps to use this and its currently 95.6 cent(65 p) per litre and has been like this for months. Its environmentally friendly fuel so prices shouldn't go up to encourage people to make the change over. Not sure how it works with non standard ecu's but ill hopefully be doing that soon too.

Using it with your turbo Ellz, i could see it adding about 40bhp! remember that episode of top gear showing increases gained using different types of fuel.Similar story with E85 as its 104Ron Thor racing fuel type test

  10. So lads just back from East coast customs up North after getting the car dyno'ed. The last time i got the car dyno'ed was in March 2007 in Westward Engineering.

Car setup on march 2007 Westward dyno:

Apexi Power intake with induction box

    Sports back box

    Result:196.8bhp

Car setup August 2007 ECC dyno:

    Apexi Panel Filter

    Denso iridium Ik20 spark plugs

    Standard back box

Full flex Gold Biofuel adpater kit

    Result: 217.5 bhp

So as you can see none of the other changes ive made since the first dyno added much power , probably a loss if anything. ie removing the induction kit and sports cat back. So running your car on E85 is a cheap power gain mod. Thats and increase of 20.7bhp.

Torque increased too, to 165lb f/t up from 150lb f/t

400 Euro well spent i think

And for anyone with a turbo should expect even bigger gains hopefully

Ill stick up the 2 graphs soon for comparison

    All figures at the flywheel

  11. definetly don't get the auto version.

EXCUSE ME!!!! whats wrong with the RS200 auto? or do you mean an AS200 auto? two different beasts altogether i'll have you know.... :crying:

easy Noel! I meant the AS200, don't worry if im referring to yours ill call it the "tip" model

  12. looking to replace the headunit on my car since I'm having the error - 1 problem

I already bought the fascia plate, I'm looking for a unit that can play both cd and md

the original unit came with a md player, so I bought a md recorder and blank disc to utilise this feature.

md are cool and are rewriteable

    any suggestions are welcome

Md are old and out of date! Not sure if there is anyone that still makes md players for cars. i just have a Pioneer headunit that plays cds and mp3s, wma's. not much else you need

  13. I take it that it's definately a tezza.

Has it got Toyota Altezza on the back and a lexus logo in the middle?

It has the Lexus Logo in the middle... and its has the 1998 4 Cyl engineer(which comes wit the Rs200).

Get rid of those lexus logo's dude!! Or something like mine?
