Quality is great, toyota facia is so much better quality than the autoleads one! So many settings yet to play with, need to run another rca cable to the 4 channel amp for the rears. It really is a great unit at a great price. the ripspeed halfords one over here costs nearly the same money i got this for!

So finally got the new head unit in and new facia in. I went for the Clarion VRX578RUSB. Does basically everything you would need from a headunit. Tried to re-use the AutoLeads Facia adapter i had off my ol Pioneer headunit but it wouldn't seem to fit around my new HU so its sort of snapped a bit in the install process! So i decided to give the original Toyota facia adapter a go. i heard it was an exact match to the finish of the rest of the dash so should blend in nicely. The only thing i don't like about it is that once you have cut the blanking plate to size, you loose the cubie hole that the Autolead facia adapter. But after further consideration, the amount of extra cabling on the new headunit would leave no room to fit a cubby hole!! you need something like this you splice into the sub part of the wiring going to your rear speakers and this then gives you 2 RCA connections you can hook up an amp and sub

As Sonnet says, there is no application listed any Lexus so i cant see it working on all models as there is at least 4/5 different connection types and sizes between all the models of IS from 98-05 . they offer a full refund if it doesnt fit, so might be worth a try for those interested

So in the process of trying to fit my new Clarion VRX578RUSB headunit. problem is when i stick in a dvd player to watch, only the audio is displayed. Manual says i need to hook up the parking brake lead to the handbrake? Anyone know how to do this? Basically i want the screen to be able to display dvd all the time regardless of the position of the handbrake

well it actually turned up out of the blue today! got a missed call off the courier, he said no neighbors were home so he left it in my Wheelie bin!! already causing me problems as it doesn't seem to want to fit into the Autoleads facia adapter from my old Pioneer single din unit. might need some help getting this in properly!!

ye its cheaper by about 40 quid on car audio centre, but every time i ring up nobody knows about the status of my order or the guys says "it will be her next week... bla bla!" if i dont hear anything by start of next week ill just cancel the payment on my credit card and they can F-off!
