  1. this is the 4th time listing the car in the last 15 days alone ! a few negative feedback saying selling lemon's, it's a hard world out there trying to buy the right car, and there so many little dealers like this 1 not being honest, I get people don't always agree with other's description's but to have so many failed auctions.... the seller is clearly a dealer but doesn't mention it anywhere ? the seller has mentioned the exhaust 1 or 2 time's to many for me, just a personal observation as in, your buying this part because it's the best part of the sale !
  2. Seat to be expected with the milage, I'm sure it could be a good investment for someone
  3. not seen it before, any further information about it ? price. service history, LPG paperwork ?
  4. A few years ago when I ran my metro engine'ed trike I used Adrian Flux for insurance, good price nice people to speak with but this was a few years ago
  5. at this point I will have to retract my statement, I have always lead to believe the filler is illegal, without conducting personal test's I'm unable to confirm if it can withstand 500 newton meters (aprox 50KG) when speaking with major importers of LPG equipment they have in the past used the word illegal, reading the COP11 it state's the filler must be able to withstand at least 500 newton meters, I can't see a 10mm screw thread taking that sort of weight personally, the other thing to note on a personal level if you do put 1 of these fillers in the corner of your petrol filler cap then you would need to watch the weight of the UK nozzle's, if something were to go wrong I would imagine it be very difficult to repair
  6. Will pencil this in put me down as a maybe please
  7. this type of filler in illegal in the UK and to second that any car fitted with this type of filler shouldn't be able to get a UKLPG certificate I have seen many of these, they can make an install look a bit nicer but there's always different option's within the law
  8. Just for reference LPG conversion do not like multiple electrode spark plugs, use normal plug's with 0.70 mm gap ;)
  9. Not got normal insurance these day's myself, however a few years ago when I was trying to insure an old omega I was told by the insurance company that if a car had 3 modification's then the car was classed as modified and therefore my insurance went down ! can't think which company I used, but the 3 mod's I had were LPG conversion, alloy's (not standard fit for the car) and a tow bar, from memory it brought my insurance down by £200 a year (was only 26 at the time) they explained that a person with a modified car was more likely to look after there car
  10. LS400s! Well, what did you expect on this forum? Seriously, it was great to meet up with Tom this afternoon (Angel123) and chat about the lovely cars that we all enjoy. His one (silver) is almost exactly the same age as mine, and has just done 1500 less miles. Both cars also have 4 previous owners. Mine has LPG; Tom's thinking about it. Both in lovely condition. We shared a coffee and chatted about car histories and what we both love about the LS400s that we own. Happy days. if you ever need help with the LPG side of thing's feel free to drop me a line, I'm a LS400 Mk4 owner running LPG I have a fair amount of experiance with LPG car's / conversion, only in liverpool
  11. hi pal, only this morning did I reprogram my key ! here is the instruction's I used for immobiliser http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/65150-mk4-remote-keys/page-2#entry814749 the remote was on here somewhere to, that was even easier, I tried alot of instruction's for the imobiliser before I found this 1 that worked for me I have 98 LS400
  12. Hans, how long did the job take you to complete? I know of Andy Evans on the Wirral, never heard a bad word against him as yet
  13. hi there, my current mission is on the electrical ariel area of the car, I don't have the original unit fitted but would love to buy one (even if mast is broken as that's an easy repair) as they seem hard to find I am looking to fit an after market unit, I have read the thread on here about it and can source the part if I need it, but looking at what's in my boot, I have the relay unit (toyota stamped 12 pin plug blue unit) which then connects to a little black unit via 2 wires with 2 wires coming off it with a 2 pin connector on the end so what's the little black unit ? coming off the relay there's 3 wires green black and red is it possibal to use these wire to hook up an after market unit ? also anyone know where the remote central locking unit is, or even what it looks like ? I know it's by ariel somewhere but can't see it as not sure what I'm looking for... Really apriciate any help offered on these matters,
  14. I don't know for definate, but can tell you a 91 is a mark 1 LS and the 96 will more than likly be a make 3 LS which means big differance,if the 96 is a late mark 2 you may have a little more sucess, easiest way to find out what model the 96 is look at the gear shifter, is it a stright line shifter (mark 2)like 91 model, or is it a stagered selector (mark 3)? may not be of much help but sometimes anything is better than nothing
  15. you mention here that you have a diargam of some sort, is this something I could possibaly download some where, I am looking for pic's / diagrams for the elcetric ariel area (gonna do a post for it)
  16. Hi there, mate, recently joined the fourm myself, only advise I would give is have a good look around ebay and other car sales area's before buying, £1200 is mk2 area's really, I'm on my second ls400 first was a high milage mk1 (280k) and new one is a mk2 with 85k on the clock, history is a problem if you are going to sell the car on, but if you get it cheep enough and are willing to service the car fully before using it then go for it ! the ls400 is a wonderfull car ans can't fault it, but really look at the car carfully, make sure everything works ! I didn't with my latest one and am paying for it now, but then I got the car at a good price so din't mind paying a little to fix it
  17. has anyone heard about key reprogramming ? there's a link on ebay uk 140072175471 don't mind paying the £2.00 if it works, but dose anyone know if it will work ?
  18. many thanks for the input, that's why I haven't found the resopn for it, my remote is currently faulty but hoping to rectify this soon
  19. not sure if this is the right area to post, but I'm am after a few odd parts for my ls400 main one I'm looking for is some old keys (single button type) they don't need to have blades on them just the plastic bit's in tact, I have 1 with my car but it's damaged badly, the electrics are ok (I think) does anyone know if they can be reprogramed if my exciting one dosn't work ? thanks all
  20. It's standard, looks like it should live there, I will get some pic's of it soon and let you all have a look, maybe an alarm thing but never heard of anything like that before, will look in booklet see if it mentions anything
  21. none at all mate, it's just a black dial with a small white line on it to show where about it is
  22. Hi thanks again to all regulars, I looked around for a fix for my cig lighters and discovered it's no more than a fuse, went under dash to sort it and found a dial, nothing written on it, It's a lexus mk2 (93 K) if you look at the pedels there's a little light which comes on with door open, next to that there's a little dial, if you move it one way it will click other way just turn to a point and stops, any ideas ? will get photos soon, with thanks
  23. hi to you all, I am now the proud owner of my second lexus ls400 (first was a while ago) I just wanted to thank everyone here for there time, pic's effort and patients with all newbies, this is my first post and really just saying a big well done for the forum so far I will add that anyone considering to fix the instument cluster it is possibal (I did vary a little from all the guides as I did it at home) but my cluster is now good for another 2000 hours ! (life span of a capasitor) I myself only have limited soldering skills and quite a large iron but managed the repair happily in under an hour, parts sourced from maplins were :- AT98 10uF 16V VH26 22uF 25V VH22 10uF 50V Parts cost under £1 clocks sprank into life after connecting the battery, no flashing airbag light fantastic ! :D everyone who is considering it, look long and hard at the forum (I spend 5 hours looking round before attempting it !) read everything you can find, if in doubt don't touch it ! OK I'm off now to post another topic regarding a dial ?!?!? keep up the good work guys
