  1. The tints do look good. Fair enough, some people will tag the car as "gangsta", but if you like them. Must look awesome at night!

I'm going for the same black on black look as you, but my tints won't be as dark as yours. :shifty: The car is at Pentagon right now!

Are you getting Supaglass or normal tints from Pentagon?

  2. I just remember seeing a programme where a woman was stopped in her Range Rover Sport, copper was going to give her a on the spot fine but she had to either remove tints there and then or it was going to get lifted and taken to plod station. She phoned her husband to get to her a.s.a.p to remove them coz she just had her "nails done" he tore off about 2" from the top so he could see which the copper was o.k with but as you say he had to remove them completly and return within a week so they could be approved by copper.

I always roll mine down when i see old bill in slow moving traffic :D

It's "Traffic Cops" on BBC1, watched the same program myself.

  3. Ok.... I will try to measure the before/after per the claims on the site, going to keep an eye on these factors for the next week or so. Disclaimer, all opinions subjective in case if someone asks me for stats. 1 thing I have noticed, the car seem to handle fuel cuts a little more smoothly then before.

    increased hp*

    increased torque*

    improved fuel efficiency

    stabilised idle

    brighter lights

    quicker engine starts

    reduced emissions

    reduced audio noise

better protection from potential engine damage from poor ECU outputs

*This always creates a lot of debate - the generally accepted theory is that installation of an earthing kit can restore lost power/torque, where the loss is due to inefficient earthing, due to age, wear & tear etc. You might not realise your car is running short on power because of an earthing issue, but when a grounding kit fixes this you'll notice.

  4. All,

Since the LOC isn't officially attending the JTS show, anyone who is interested to attend can potentially tag along with the Toyota Owners Club.

Please register your interest so a club stand can be arranged, thank you.

Prolex (Dave) will be participating in Time Attack at the event.

  5. For future reference, service provided by www.archenemy.co.uk is excellent.

The service can also be arranged via WIM if you happen to go there for a geo calibration or other work.

  6. What I did was order from Lexus a pair of spray jets in white (most neutral colour), and a can of spray paint (well I did from my local Toyota dealer, apparently the Yaris also use 8N8, but known as Oasis Blue instead). Paint also useful for painting parking sensors and other small bits.

Just make sure you cover up the black rubber bits when spraying!

  7. :offtopic: mine are deffo lighter than yours but I do feel they need to go darker with the colour of your car.

Incidentally Lexus specify 255/40x18's on the rear of these particular rims. Any reason for the change ?

I agree they need to be darker, as you said anthacrite/gunmetal, and as you may have noticed I'm going for the dark theme (black head lamps, smoked front fogs, dark rear lamps).

I chose tyre sizes per LOC wheel size guide, and using a tyre size calculator, 225/40/18 have nearly the exact same diameter as 255/35/18. I realise they are 255/40/18 on the IS250, and they are ok on your car, but as mine is lowered I chose to be more conservative with the size.

  8. :offtopic:

Hmm wonder where I've seen those before :winky:

you need to paint them darker like the anthacrite on Chris.S wheels IMO with your colour IS200

    What tyres you running ?

    What sizes ?

    How much were they ?

They are supposedly smoked chrome, but compared to my original refurbished "smoked chrome" rims, they almost look silver. Next time need to have yours next to mine to see if they are really smoked chrome or not. I plan to get them redone in the same colour as my last ones once they need refurbishing (hopefully I won't curb them too soon).

    Falken FK452.

    225/40/18 front, 255/35/18 rear.

Money-wise, it seem reasonable to me, they were off eBay.
