  1. hi mate not sure how expensive it would be best thing just ring up and ask there will be a way to flash the ecu etc but i am almost positive that only a select fe will be able to do it or have the equipment to do it and even then by flashing the ecu may cause more problems if not done be a lexus qualified technition also was the car like this when you bought it or have you done it yourelf by fiddlin with the secret menu the first is i went to look at i refused to buy despite them nearly trying to give it to me because the garage didnt no how to get the nav to work to show me it it did (at the time i didnt really no how to get it working) but read that it is one of the things to check or it could get expensive to take it to dealer
  2. sorry to be a bearer of bad news mate but looks like your shiney new lexus is going to be going back to the dealers for expensive re-programming from what i have heard about this situation is that the ecu and navi need to be reset and navi re-installed to the car to get it back working and that only the lex dealer can do it look on the bright side though while ur there u can ask em to sort it out for irish mapping
  3. geoffers ur right it is so easy to do it through the HU its unbelievable my HU on my is200se is a 13906 so i definatel no its possible on that all you do is use a crimp plug strip the mute lead from parrit kit (mine is blue) attach a small crimp terminal (male) and plug it into the second pin on the top row (from the left, if looking from the back) and thats all you have to do i think the autoleads cable mutes through the amp therfore forcing the rears to stop
  4. Actually now I think about it - I had this problem early on in normal mode. But the problem for me was that I had used ephpod not itunes to create a playlist and this confused the grom. I plugged it back into itunes and deleted the ephpod playlists and everythuing was ok again. Do you use itunes with your pod or something else? i use itunes for my playlists etc it just seems strange that it does work then it doesnt. to me i cant understand how it can be a firmware problem or chip problem because it recognises it one min then not the next sometimes it will only play and give me no control through HU but still cuts off after 10 mins its a real pain in the a**e
  5. i received 1 which doesnt work properly and they said they would send an update so i hope mine works properly once the new one arrives out of curiousity what is wrong with your adapter mine works for about 10 mins the switches back to radio and i have to restart the car and sometimes it just plays the music but wont let me control the ipod from HU and even then still shuts off after 10 mins
  6. £1000 thats a bit steep i think could understand around the £500 mark for full re-trim just wish i could find a set of full leather interior from a is300
  7. wozza the re-trim would be full leather and if i could get a good price on retrim was going to keep the colour stcok beige(my interior) with a caramel insert in the seat the same colour as the piping is now on the cream interior but the price is going to be the stubling block now if i could get the full leather from a is300 in cream that would be a lot cheaper and still look very nice if i did that i would have the lex logo embroided on the headrests but the crem interior in full leather seems bo be a rare thing to come by just wish i could find somewhere for the re-trim thats cheap enough 2D do u have full leather now?
  8. anybody know of any local re-trimmers near doncaster or south yorkshire are that have fairly cheap prices web addresses would also be helpful dont no weather to go down the re-trim route or is300 full leather interior on my is200se
  9. hope so just cant seem to find anything i was kinda hoping it would be pretty simple and straight forward to change the seats as they are already headted and electric
  10. right i fancy changing my IS200SE interior to full leather i have the cream half leather interior currently and would like full leather cream i have looked on ebay but nothing on there does anybody know where i could source the job lot from and whats the cost likely to be or if anybody has any for sale i would like to hear what condition and prices they want for them also whats your opinions instead of changing interior getting a full re-trim & prices for that lastly how easy is it to change the interior ie lecky seats with lecky seat and airbag complications etc all opinions welcome
  11. yeah i asked when i should expect to receive the replacement and they said back end of next week so we'll hve to see if the next one works properly also quick question for u in your first post when i said it turns off after about ten mins and i had to turn engine off and back on to get it to work you said: This comes up if the gromAudio box does not recognice your iPod correctly. This could happen, as discribed in way one when you left the iPod pluged on while switching on and of the car. So the solution is pretty easy if it occur that control is not possible and the sound is poor. Just switch to FM and then after some seconds after the radiostation startef to play switch back to the iPod and everything should be finewhen pod goes off when the pod cuts off it goes straight back onto the radio and doesnt recognise the grom adapter so therefore wont allow me to press cd to get it back on i have to restart the car it would be handy if yourself or someone else knows how to resolve this as that would be great until replacement comes
  12. ;) still wasn't with it though to busy trying t work out why id been given so much interest!
  13. yeah i didnt realise until after but it was me just come out of bank myself at first i thought you were pipping the car that drove past until i realised and remembered u from here lol
  14. well i can say that the workaround for the time being didnt work it cuts off every10 minutes or so and i have to turn engine off and on to get it to play again pretty annoying seen as though i have to wait 7 business days for the item and it is the wrong one now will have to wait another 7 days and i also scratched my dash because i was p****d off whilst fannying around behind the HU
  15. thanks sonnet i will try this i hope it works tempererily as i spoke to grom and they advised me the was a glitch in there system and the wrong chip was burned and would send another in the post tomorrow which will take until the end of next week to get so hopefully it will work with your little workaround it was just doing my head in cos at first everything was fine
  16. ive been looking through old threads and not found any useful information on my problem which is: CAR: IS200SE NAVI CD 13906 i got my GROM interface today and swiftly installed it worked fine for about 10 minutes control ipod through stereo, THEN after 10 mins or so it cut out and radio came on would go back into cd changer mode until car was turned off and then back on again now i can get the sound through the speakers but cannot control the ipod via the stereo it just displays cd 1 and the volume seems a little lower than at first (this might just be my ears with the vol) even like this every so often it still cuts out infrequently my IPOD is a TOUCH (i emailed and made sure it was capatable before purchase) with latest firmware i have reset hu but still nothing if anyone can help me out here it would be greatly apriciated
  17. 2 weeks lol thats too long for me :D and knowing my luck it would be held up at customs somebody must have 1

  19. im in wheatley mate private reg r999 ves on car u may have seen me about parthiban - how long did it take to arrive from oredering to delivery (as im also impatient) would be handy if some1 locally had one to sell
  20. lol been on here a while now just trying to get hold of one of these ipod leads
  21. does anybody have a Grom Audio ipod adaptor they want to sell (not the aux) with leads etc or know of a uk based seller of the Grom lead as im a bit dubious of ordering items from overseas as i always seem to have the bad luck with oversees order thanks also im based in doncaster so anyone localish i would be able to collect
  22. not sure if this has been found before but i thought i would share it with you ppl if you cannot find the phone mute on the back of your oem H/U this is wat you need i was lucky to install my parrot handsfree kit and find the phone mute on the external changer socket which works a treat but i do no some models may or may not support this if you have a 13906 oem H/U you dont need this cable as you have a phone mute on the stock head unit not sue on others http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=119730moreinfo like i said not sure if it has been found and shared before but thought i would just post it
