  1. White's coming back in. Go for it! As for the other half, try just offering to do the washing up for a week and you'll be just fine. Or maybe that's just me? Keith
  2. Gutting buddy. An injured Lex is never a nice sight. Agreed with the others, full inspection, all at their cost cos it was their fault. Sorry to hear about your misfortune, hope everything gets sorted. Keep us posted! Keith
  3. not yet, mainly cause its not dark and they where fitted today! :P :D A notable disadvantage :winky: Top job! keith
  4. They look really excellent. Top work buddy! Lookin forward to seeing the pics of them in the dark! Keith
  5. Hey guys, From my installation people (Elecanic in Wolverhampton - excellent btw) they charge between £35 and £50 to fit a bluetooth car kit to the IS. Thinking of getting me one I must confess. Ebay retails around £100 for the 3200 and £70 for the 3000. Any ideas on where they are cheaper? Halfrauds charge £200 for the same damn thing! Keith BTW - just a small note, I've just found on the CarphoneWarehouse website they're offering the 3000 and the 3200 with free fitting - 3000 is £79.99 and the 3200 is £149 - they're damn good prices!
  6. Hey guys, As an ex advanced driving instructor, I have access to the Police Skid Pad at Hixon in Staffs. For a charge, they will hire out the pad and provide skid control training to people like us! If anyone is interested in a session, let me know. I'd need 10 bookings. I'm pretty sure that the cost is around £48 per person. For that you get half an hour behind the wheel and half an hour as a passenger. You drive FWD, RWD, ABS and non ABS cars on a circular grease pad in and out of cones and what not. I've been there loads of times before, it's great fun. It used to cost around 38 quid for a 20 minute session so it's not bad value now. If anyone's interested, stick your names down on the replies and I'll try to sort a date out - likely at start of June on a saturday. Keith 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 8. 10.
  7. Hey chaps, Looks like you had a good day. Really bummed I couldn't make it. I'm defo up for next one. Keith
  8. I dunno. I think the Gold class is basically wax polish all in one whereas with the deep crystal stuff there are 2 different steps. I'm informed the DC is better by Meguiars. Keith
  9. Hey guys, As a long-term user of Meguiars gold class car care products, I have thought about using the Meguairs Deep Crystal range instead. Has anyone ever tried a back to back experiment of these products before? If so, which one is the better one? The Meguiars car care prescription suggests using the deep crystal stuff but I'm just after a second opinion before I try it. Keith
  10. Hey. I'm supposed to be meeting Lee and others at Stafford services as 10. There is a chance I may not be able to make it. Hopefully I will but if I'm not there at 10, assume I'm not coming. Hope to be able to make it though. Keith
  11. Count me in. I love meguairs products. I'm up for it. Keith
  12. Guys, Count me in. I'm meeting Lee and everyone else at Stafford at 10. Will have to shoot at 2.30 though cos of work. My Lex is completely standard so I guess I'll be left in the dust of the s/c ones up the M6. Be good to meet everyone, put faces and cars to names and get some useful tips and inspiration from you guys. Looking forward to meeting you all. Keith
  13. At present its looking good, 20 people so far :) Lots of new faces to meet too Done. Meet you at 10 @ Stafford services. Good to put faces and cars to usernames! I'm gonna kinda feel a bit of the odd one out tho, the Lex is completely standard! Keith
  14. Dude. It's 2005 '05' plate. Keith I think its the s model :D as s models dont have leather :o It is the S model yeah. Well spotted :) And no it doesn't have a sunroof. Good, cos I hate sunroofs! Comes from a bitter past of a Renault 5 sunroof that leaked and soaked me!
  15. Just stand around chatting about cars, I was thinking about grabbing a bite to eat in the harvester next door. Cool. What's the turnout expected to be? I'd have to shoot at 2.30 at latest tho. Keith
  16. Hey. No mate, it's full cloth. Wouldn't swap the armrest for anythin, makes me very lazy though! Keith
  17. What time and where on Sunday? In Bolton. A few of us are meeting at Stafford services at 10 and driving up together, should get there around 11:30ish taking it easy :D http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...c=40339&hl= Sounds very tempting. I'm not far from Stafford services either. What's the plan in Bolton? At the risk of sounding really old and miserable, I'd have to be back to go to work at 5! Keith Hey matey. No idea. it's just like a corrugated kinda pattern on the seats. Kinda nice. No other pics of that at the mo, too dark to get more now. I'll do some at the weekend. The wheels are growing on me I must admit and no it doesn't have the small rear lip. I'd quite like it but it looks ok without. Keith
  18. Try your local bodyshops. When I had my Celica I managed to run over a crowbar or something which dented the door. I went to the dealership and they pointed me in the direction of the local specialist. Wasn't the cheapest option, but you can't mess around with the car you love! Alternatively, try something like 'chipsaway' or 'dent master' or whatever your local equivalent is. They're like mobile body repair guys. Really good and cheap. Have you thought of psychopathic revenge on the trollies?! :winky: Keith
  19. Hey all. I was a bit bored this evening and noted Rory's post and pics and figured I'd stick some of my IS on here. They're only snaps taken tonight in poor light. As soon as I get some time off work, I'm going to do so some professional ones (no excuse really seeing as it's what I do!). Keep you posted on them. The car, it's a standard IS200 Auto. Haven't altered anything about it in any way apart from adding HID lights. Not really sure about the wheels but they're growing on me. Opinions please. Keith
  20. Hey buddy, Congrats. You made the best decision. Reasonable price for the car, glorious colour and nice to drive. Welcome to the club. I'm sure we'll meet again in the forums! Keith
  21. Pic's click me now this are good if your going to change to colour of the bubles like some of us i going for the blue look Granted they look nice. If you changed them for LED's would that involve any relays or anythin like that? Keith
  22. Hey. Has anyone got any pics of what these things look like when they're fitted to the car? £17 seems a bit extravangant for something you don't actually look at on a day to day basis. If they look good, I'll get some. Keith
  23. Congrats on your wise purchase :D - I'm sure you'll be delighted. Spend a while shopping round for insurance. Play insurers off against each other. I ring them up and say I've been offered a cheaper quote elsewhere but can they beat it and they have done in the past. A couple of well-spent but very boring hours in front of a computer filling the same damn boxes in every single time gets really tedious but you can potentially save hundreds. Keith Oh, quick point about the missus, I find giving her the remote control and a box of chocolates makes you almost invulnerable from criticism, at least for a while!
  24. According to WhatCar, you're looking at a p/ex value of £4795 and a private sale of £5195. Why the sale? Your Lexus is depreciating yes, but it's a nice steady slow depreciation, it won't be worth much less next year. You trade in a nice car for a small runaround, you have to pay extra in the first instance and the new car will suffer from rocket-powered depreciation making it an uneconomical choice. Unless you're desperate to rid yourself of the Lexus, can't think why, don't do it. You'll only regret it. Think very carefully before you go over to the dark side! Keith
