  1. Yes buddy. Go to www.lextasy.com and they're on there under 'IS300 lighting'. $45 for a set of 2 from USA. Pricey I think but they look good, particularly with blue LED's. Keith
  2. Tell me about it. Maybe it's too close to the NW meet or something. There doesn't seem much point having the meet when only 4 people are gonna turn up but I'm cool to go ahead with just 4 if y'all are. Come on people, get your diaries out and come along to the meet! I know there's more people who can make it.
  3. Agree with above. I'm auto and would never consider a manual again in this type of car. Keith
  4. Evening all, Ok a confession, I'm officially an idiot. Whilst I was preparing to paint the front brake caliper yesterday, after jacking the car up it rolled forward and fell off the jack. Let me tell you my middle class neighbours have probably never heard language like it! It landed on the brake disc and bent the metal thingy behind the disc (which I have bent back into a normalish shape - are these easy to replace or more to the point how much are they so I can get it replaced at the next service). It's chipped a tiny bit of the disc, nothing too exciting and I'll just get them replaced at a later stage anyway. Ironically the only major damage is to the front left mudguard. Lexus have quoted me £60 for a set of 4 which does seem a bit pricey but I would pay it just to teach me a lesson! Does anyone have a set of mudguards (or just the front left one) that they would be willing to part with for cash? I cannot tell you the feeling in your stomach when you see your beloved car coming crash down from the jack. I'm still getting over it! At least the caliper came out ok - I'll do the others tomorrow! Keith (who's a bit red in the face and feels a complete div)
  5. Hey guys. Anyone up for a wee race this evening? I'll be around most of the evening. My gamertag is Baboon82. Just message me and we'll have a little race! Keith
  6. Corking job. You're doing a great job of organising this. I'm very much looking forward to it. Keith
  7. A wild-card suggestion is that the ECU may have become reset somehow and the engine can run a bit rough for a wee while afterwards. I'd still get it checked out because I know bugger all about mechanics. I'm always the first to advise people to take notice when someone who doesn't know the car says something doesn't sound right - in my experience they're usually right as a fresh pair of ears does help a lot. He may be being ott but I wouldn't take the chance - he may save you a lot of expense and hassle. And thus the voice of reason! Keith
  8. Sami, Car's looking sweet. Nice figures you're getting from the dyno. Kinda makes up from all the crap you had at the start. As for the MOT, is there any way the ECU can be temporarily be remapped to limit the power or is that not possible? Keith
  9. Hey matey. Granite sky calls for one of two colours. Either black or gold in my opinion. If you wanted to go red, hows about mixing some paint up and going for a darker shade of red. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person on this forum to have an Antimony coloured car lol! I've never met another one who has it! Keith
  10. Right kids I'm pretty sold on the black to be honest. I think they'd look pretty sweet - not showy at all, they just look nice. Exactly the qualities I like. Second question... What paint do I use? I've read another post that says Hammerite smooth - I assume that comes in gloss black? Do I need primer? What about after I put the stickers on, what do I use to seal it? Some kind of lacquer I assume? But which? Sorry if all these are answered in other posts somewhere but I couldn't find them. Thanks for the input. Keith
  11. Think you need to give us some samples please fella :P Visit my website - www.keithwylie.co.uk. You should find some samples on there! Keith
  12. Glad you're liking the car matey. As for the bird, hunt the bugger down! Right, answers to your questions: 1. go to www.imageshack.uk, upload your pictures there, t will give you a selections of links, copy the link (right mouse button/copy). When you're posting, click on the insert image icon and it'll come up with a box with http://, paste the link into that box and it'll appear as a picture on the published post. 2. For bulbs go to www.autobulbsdirect.com. They're very good and if you ring them up they're great to talk to because they'll recommend the exact product for you. 3. Motorised panels will obscure the heater controls which I can understand would be annoying. Go for a double-DIN screen. 4. Don't know. 5. Not sure on this one. Would involve meddling with wires and on modern cars that can bugger a lot of things up very easily unless you know what you're doing. I'd just buy an aftermarket TOAD alarm or something. Hope that's of some use. You can always PM me if you need to. Oh by the way, what are you still doing reading this? Shouldn't you be out enjoying your Lexus! :D Keith
  13. Guess I should stick my two cents in. Hi, I'm Keith (for those of you who don't know me), got my username from 2 reasons, 1, it's partly my surname and secondly I'm always being outwitted by roadrunners lol! I'm 25, not married, no kids. Frankly can't stand the little b******s so probably for the best. My last girlfriend gave me an ultimatum 'it's either me or your precious car' to which I replied 'close the door quietly on your way out'. I've owned my 2005 Lexus IS auto for about 4 months and just adore it I've only spent around £300 on mods, after buying an alarm that'll probably be about it. I don't hugely modify cars because I'm a big one for subtlety. I think something that's subtle and classy is far sexier than something thats loud and in your face. My job? I have 3, I'm part of the A&E team at a local hospital and I also work as a charge nurse in the PCT. I also have my own business working as a professional landscape and glamour photographer and photography lecturer. Never dull! I am a trained advanced driving instructor and knowledgable in escape and evasion driving and anti-terrorism driving. Well, that's me. Keith
  14. i would always recomened stayin faithfull!! :winky: if you build a relationship with the retailer, then you will always get better advice, better service and better prices!!! i have a specialist retailer in all of my vices.. namely ice, games and home hifi! always get the best deal off em all the time.. just need top find one for lexus goodies!! :) I tend to find a combination of the two works quite well. I find somewhere local and develop a nice little relationship with them and when I want a new product I shop around and the cheapest price I find I go to my local place and ask them to match or beat my best price from elsewhere. In my experience, I've rarely been refused. Once I even made up a stupidly low price and they did it it for that. I think the lesson we can learn here kids is that staying faithful is good, but people will work harder when they know there's competition! :winky:
  15. I had a Y reg Nissan Micra a few years ago. It was not a choice more of a enforced condition of employment! And I can honestly say that in almost every respect with no shadow of a doubt it was a complete bag of the proverbial toilet matter. I say almost every respect, because it was, hard as it may be to believe, hugely good fun to throw round on country roads. Mainly because it wasn't my car, and secondly, even if it was, I couldn't have cared less if I'd have put the bloody thing in a hedge. Keith Oh by the way, if any Nissan employees or fans of the Micra are reading this and are thinking of harming me and know where I live, it was a lovely car!
  16. I will be the first for the auto ones when they're available (wink wink nudge nudge lol!). I'm always the first to volunteer to be a lab rat. Glad to see they're on ebay. Keith
  17. I'll stand corrected on this one. Bass Junkies are cheaper (by a considerable margin too) than their competitors on some of the stuff. Like Jamie my last experience of Bass Junkies was a while ago - I think it was 2003 or something like that and back then their prices were laughable. It appears they have become competitive now. I was wrong. Keith
  18. I'd go for black or silver :D Hi Rory. They are kinda along the lines of what I was thinking. The only thing that I thought about them, if they were silver, would you actually notice at all that they'd been done? Keith
  19. Evening boys and girls. I wish to pick your brains because I'm being indecisive again (or am i?) What colour should I paint my brake calipers on my Antimony colour IS200? I don't want anything too garish, I like things to be subtle but noticable if you know what I mean. Thoughts please Keith
  20. I too have searched over the past few weeks also to no avail. Gap in the market somebody? I'd fill it myself, but well, I can't be bothered! I prefer other people doing the work for me and then bringing it to me. Keith
  21. Hmm, the law regarding company logos. I think it's ok to steal whatever logos you desire and use them in any way you want, just as long as the company doesn't find out lol! Hope my little legal tidbit is of some use! :winky: Keith
  22. Jason, I am really impressed by your dials. When you've completed the Lexus logo design for an auto and they're on sale be sure to let me know. You really do deserve to earn your money from the dials, they are great and I'm sure there'll be a waiting list! Keith
  23. Mark, A supercharger on average decreases your 0-60 time by around 2.2 or so seconds and increases your top speed to about 133mph (if yours is a manual it won't increase the top speed - it only increases on autos). You'll also up the torque to 182lb/ft which is significant. I'm not sure of the figures for a turbo but I know they will make it faster from 0-60 than a supercharger. A s/c would cost around £4700 from prolex-uk and a turbo would cost around £7500. Either way you cut it, that's a lot of cash for a relatively small performance increase. With a s/c it equates to £2350 per second (or thereabouts) of added acceleration. Not to mention the increased insurance costs. You'll also add around 3.5% to your fuel consumption. If you want a bit of extra power without s/c (and I know I'll there's loads of people who'll disagree with me, and that's fine) just get an induction kit, new plugs and a decent exhaust. You won't get the same performance but you'll save yourself at a minimum of £4000. If you can get a good one on the cheap, then I'd jump at the chance, I just wouldn't pay that amount of money for one. Bah humbug! Keith
  24. Damn right they are. Useful for information, but ridiculously overpriced. Thanks for the links. Keith
  25. Morning people. This looks like its gonna be a big event. Stick me down as a definite. I'll sort work out later. I'll be there! Keith
