  1. What is wrong with this country? We are indeed living in a "nanny stae". Someone with nothing better to do than think of yet another way to put down the normal everyday hardworking Brit' has come up with another totally hairbrained or is that air brained scheme. It is ill thought through and unacceptable. If they reduce the speed limits to 50mph, people will still drive at what they deem as safe speeds for them (excluding the tossers who are just plain idiots and over confident.). I sat the IAM test and passed 1st time, and yes it did teach me to be a better, more observant driver, and to drive within my limits, weather conditions, car limits and so on. Why keep bashing the sensible motorist over the head with these unecessary controls. So, go ahead and reduce the limit... I WILL drive at the speed that I feel confident at, and, NOT endanger other road users by travelling too slow and causing aggravation and a possible accidents. Oh, and maybe the smart arse who thought this up was a bean counter rubbing his hands in glee in expectation of yet MORE speeding fines....... Sh@t, tha's me off the soap box!! Col... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  2. I'm averaging 29 MPG at present. Have noticed the guage does act funny every now and again, but, I don't pay much attention to fuel guage unless the light comes on. I calculate MPG from fill up and trip mileage. Anyway, didn't buy my IS200 sport for good MPG return, I bought it for comfort, fun, looks and reliability. I love my Lexy.... Col..................
  3. It was great to meet al the guys that turned up for the Aberdeen meet on Sunday. Got my mouth watering and wallet quaking thinking about the mod's that can be done........
  4. Good to have you on board. Here's to another 190,000 miles mate. Col :winky:
  5. I'll be there guys. I'll be the baldy silvered haired loon with the champagne silver Lexus IS200 sport. (I'm even going to wash it tonite... the car... not my hair!!!) Col :D
  6. Ta Rikos. I know it is a bit naughty to try and push it up in to the red line area, but a couple of times I've had a prat accelerate on me when overtaking, and just needed that extra pnch for a few seconds to get past and then pull in. Now I know, I feel easier. Think I'll just let the prat undertake me and pull back in to the "SLOW" lane... Hee Hee. :winky: Col........ I think its actually around 6500RPM that the engine will cut out.Its just a safety feature that most engines do now a days to protect it being over revved. I would not recommend this as i believe what happens is the fuel goes unburned and especially if you have a supercharger once the spark has been restored the unburned fuel in the manifold/exhaust then ignites and can cause the CATs to be damaged Thanks Rod. Don't have a supercharger or any fancy mod's. Must admit, it gives you a bit of a fright when the engine cuts back, but rather that than blowing the engine or damaging other parts. Guess I'll stick to 50MPH from now on and drive with my pipe and slippers.... Hee Hee. :D

  8. Hi Peeps, Posted this on the Gold Forum but no answers yet. I don't drive my prize IS200 sport posession hard often, but I notice when I get just on to the red Line (around 7000RPM), I can't push through to get an extra few rev's. It just sticks and I have to change gear. Is there a rev limiter or do I have a problem?? TA Col...
  9. Welcome mate. You'll find a wealth of info and help from all here. Got any piccies of your car????? Col :winky:
  10. Only had my IS200 sport for a couple of months, and I too get the clunking noise. Especially on full lock when reversing. Booked it in to Lexus Aberdeen on Monday, and, hope if they need to fix ball joints or calipers that it'll be done under the warranty. It is a bit annoying... eh! Cheers Col ;)
  11. OK, I don't think I'll bother then. Last thing I want is to knaker the car I love so much. Ta for the advice. Cheers Col :)
  12. Hi peeps, Has anyone used 10K boost performance improver spray stuff on an IS200 or other ?? If so was it any good? Increase in power, improved MPG etc. Cheers Col
  13. That's OK... It works out around 28 miles/gallon. Nothing to worry about. If you really want to clean your fuels system right through properly, then buy 10K boost. Normally you can get it in Halfords, but best buy on-line as you can get it cheaper. Col :winky:
  14. Hi peeps. Guess what, idiot face here kerbed his IS 200!!! I need to get the alloy repaired as it is annoying me. (How stupid am I??). Anyway, I called a a company called "Blasted Alloys" (Van comes to your location). They said that they can't come and fix it because of the Lexus 5 spoke grooved configuration and that they coudn't get the finish?? Told me that the wheel, would have to be sent away. Hmmmm... is this true??? Anyone got any advice on this please. Ta a lot... Col
  15. Hi Vince, Welcome to LOC. You will get plenty of advice from the peeps here, they are a great bunch. By power loss what do you mean? Have you driven one before that you can make the power loss comparison? Supposed to do 0-60 MPH in around 9 Seconds. What are you experiencing? Are you getting poor petrol consumption (MPG, MPK?). Think we would need some more info before making and educated guess?? Anyway, you've bought a gem of a car. Best wishes Col...... :winky:
  16. Hi all, Managed at last to get a piccie uploaded of my IS 200. I love this car. Had an IS 250 on loan for a day while I got a minor fault fixed. Jeesh... what a motor. Wish I could afford one.. Cheers Col
