  1. Business card holder?? Parking ticket holder?? I keep my Lexus roadside assist card in mine.
  2. No, but the TSIB fix is a top end rebuild with some new parts, and that does. Can this short lived knock cause any serious long term damage? I have heard an odd startup noise on a few occasions and would like to get it looked into if it's likely to be damaging.
  3. The toe out on the rear will certainly make it more tail happy rather than the generic toe in, understeer option. I also found to have some toe out on the front gave better turn in, but will increase the tramlining from the front.
  4. Tango Do you take this machine on track, or just for enjoyment? Does anyone know what 'standard' settings would be best for straight line stability and good tyre wear, whilst still balancing effective turn in with minimal understeer? I'm mainly after tyre longevity but occasionally enjoy a run on windy roads.
  5. Is this trait common to all wives/girlfriends/womankind? It sounds strangely familiar! I agree
  6. I think the nav uses average speeds that are put into the system, for city and highway driving. If going slower or faster it doesn't register until you get much closer to your destination, when it then seems to take into account your actual speed. I usually look at the distance remaining rather than time remaining.
  7. Does the car auto unlock when you put it into P, or do you have to manually unlock? Enjoy the new wheels.
  8. should be on the passenger door pillar, pm it me whaen you have it or the full reg number and i will look it up for you My 10th digit is also a 0, but underneath (from the door pillar plaque) is has year of manufacture as April 2007.
  9. It's just the way it is, so you can't select names whilst driving. I believe there are some hacks to enable to work around it.
  10. I just bung my phone into the centre console cup holder. I have a spectacle cleaning cloth in the bottom so no rattles. If it faces you it's easy to see who's calling, although it does come up on my nav screen. :winky:
  11. Looks like you need a cage for your Lex then, gotta keep them cats away somehow.......
  12. Swamprat, Ive changed rotors on my previous Subarus with DBA rotors and they were better than the original japanese fitted version, same with wifes Commodore. I'm sure they'd have something worthy, look at slotted as well if you enjoy some spirited driving on occasions.
  13. Swamprat, how many sets of tyres have you been through? This will give an idea of your driving style and if the brake wear seems excessive. My subarus used a set of tyres every year (25000 Km) and the brake pads and rotors would get 60-70000, and they were driven quite hard. My IS250 has only done 2000km so no comparison yet. :winky: Do you also have excessive brake dust and 'grabby' brakes at low speeds, ie slowing for traffic lights?
  14. My car has exactly as you describe. Same size/dimension rims and wider tyres for the rear. It's standard in Australia for the Sports Luxury model. Sounds like it's the same in the UK.
  15. Bugga...so you're just wearing the black valve caps then? If so, it's a tougher call. I'd probably let them know, so they can log it, but leave the fix until next time it goes in for service or such.
  16. So they kept the shiny ones from the wheels they replaced...........? I'd just give them a call and ask them to post the original shiney ones back to you as they must have just forgot to replace with everything else they had to do. As you say, you don't want to burn your bridges over something small. I do like my shiney valve caps though
  17. I believe this feature can be disabled. I have been more concerned with my ability to forget to lock the car. As the fob is left in my pocket, I forget to remove it to lock the car. My other cars used keys, so they were in my hand when I got out and so remembered to lock before putting them in my pocket. I am remembering more often now, and find using the door button most convenient :winky:
  18. 1. In Australia the only difference is the equipment level and wheel size. Engine, suspension etc the same. 2. I don't believe so.
  19. I've been driving manuals for the last 10 years, but went with the auto on the IS250. But, as Jamboo says, they are very smooth, easy to drive, and you have the sports shift if feeling in a kinda manual mood. I don't miss the manual anywhere near as much as I thought I would. I also felt it was time for a little more luxury, and the auto helps to complete this. :winky:
  20. Mirror vibration will happen when you have the music up enjoying some favourite songs :winky: Every other car forum I have been on has also had loads of topics about issues the owners have. In most cases they are looking to see if others have the same concerns, but will also lead to a lot of useful info about your car. Just enjoy your new ride and relax in the knowledge that it's hard to get so many parts all working together perfectly, all the time. Even though that's how we'd like it
  21. The auto headlight function is waiting til too dark before activating (in my opinion). According to the manual this can be altered by taking it into the dealer. It says default is 3 and can be adjusted from 1-5. Does anyone know how to alter this themselves, and if so is 1 most sensitive to fading light or less sensitive? Also it comes on using the parking lights for the first 5-10 minutes, then goes to full driving lights. Can this be adjusted?
