  1. Do UK LS600h have the same valve and switch setup in the exhaust as the USA models? The Japanese models don’t but as it’s a $7k fix on USA models and tends to fail regularly.
  2. The prices seem very strong at the moment. I’m also looking to get back into an LS and seeing 12 year old vehicles in the 15-25 bracket is surprising.
  3. did you change the spark plug wires at the same time? if not you may have damaged one of them - which will cause a lumpy idle.
  4. are the instrument clusters on a 91 the same as on a 93 ls400? specifically the circuits that run them? as my ls dash is dead so, I thought that getting a cluster from a breakers, yanking out the two circuit boards and replacing my dud ones would be a good stop gap solution? but before I do that, would it work?
  5. tried to get the tracking done at my local mechanics, took it for a test drive after and got some serious rumbles/shakes from the rear. got the guy to set the tracking back to how it was and it disappeared, what could be causing this? does the ls400 need four wheel balancing/tracking?
  6. thats what I thought, I'll get my bro to check them next time he is down but worse case senario jim walker can fix it for £115 + shipping there so its not too expensive.
  7. Any idea what we could have missed, I dont think my bro inserted them the wrong way round? How much am I looking at to get it fixed do you think?
  8. won't I get even more of a pittance tho? i would expect something like £800 from a trader....
  9. I suppose :/ its just annoying that the dash as gone kaputt right when I want to sell.
  10. there was a thread previously we replaced c212 c147 and c.... cant remember got the capacitors from maplins, we couldnt get an exact martching for the timing one but got one with a slightly higher capcitance which shouldnt affect things....
  11. I know it was never going to be easy selling a 4 litre v8 with todays petrol prices but still..... been on ebay twice and piston heads and very little interest... I finally got a replacement center cap and then it fell off whilst I was driving the car >_< combine this with the blinky dash problem and Im not a happy bunny.
  12. update number three, all fixed :D £58 pounds in total still pretty convinced im gonna sell the car however, three things need to happen before that can occour. Tracking (no biggie) Center cap (again nothing big) Sort out the brake light (poss sensor issue) Sort out the blinky dash, looks like my bro can sort that out :D I'll get these small issues sorted and see how it goes after.
  13. Update number two: Called up the mechanics at lunchtime, told them of the o ring change and that it might not be seated properly. Left them to it. Popped in after work: Still working on the car, but they remove the reservor and found the o ring shagged and a pipe loose which *could* be causing the air leak. cept it was dark and they were working outside so they will continue tomorrow. fingers crossed
  14. Preparing for the worst with my power steering pump. searching breakers etc for a second hand one and I have found one thats coming off a 91 model, will this fit my 93 series 2 ls400?
  15. morning all, just dropped the car off to the mechanics small rumble through the steering wheel, no screaming but no power steering either..... and a new problem blinky dash, it only started when I began fiddling with the car last weekend >_< and apparently the dash was repalced because of it two years ago, so that sucks if the pumps out and the dash is fooked, i'm gonna no reserve it on ebay and cut my losses.
  16. we've filled it pretty high but it leads to another issue. the air bubble gets churned up and causes the fluid to foam up - which takes up alot more room than normal thus it will very quickly ***** everywhere, even with the cap on >_< I'm taking it to the mechanics tomorrow morning, i've left it for a week so hopefully that might have sorted things out (wishful thinking I know), but what can you do eh? Luckily the mechanics is less than a 1/2 a mile away so I think it should be ok to drive there.
  17. yeah we did that for ages and bubbles were still coming out, i've booked it in for a full fluid change and hopefully that will solve the problem.
  18. were there many different size wheels for the ls400 for the series 2/3?
  19. what size do I need for a 93 ls400 with 16 inch wheel? I have in my hand a 165mm and I've just won a 178mm - will this fit? or have I bought the wrong size twice!
