Although saying that the bypass lead i have means i didnt need to change my speakers somehow they work, i got this cable from CCA. But your easiest option would be to change like for like.

Your best bet would be look through the audio section of the forum. you can either go for the replacement of the factory head unit, or go for an aftermarket head unit and then have the option of buying a disk changer where then it can be put where ever you wish. If you were to go for this you would also need to get an amp bypass lead and also a fascia. Hope that helps i will try and find the link but if you look in the audio section it wont take you long to find it

What could do if you want to avoid changing the head unit is either get a FM Transmitter which will attatch to your mp3 player and then you can sit that anywhere in the car and tune the radio into the specific radio station if that makes sense. the other option is to use one of them nasty tape things that offer a headphone cable and that plugs into the mp3 and then plays through the tape deck. oh and if the MP3 player you are using is an Ipod then they have a bit of kit called Itrip which does the same as the fm transmitter just works better for the ipods. Hope that helps.

Gutted, i hope you said your peice to them when they told you and made them look like idiots! My feeling is that you had a brand new spare when you took it in for the service and for some reason they new that you had not checked and thought they could make a quick bit of cash from you. hope you get it sorted, and for sure dont use them again

i get the same using ie7 when i get the chance i will try the site using a different browser and let you know!

the bloke who has done the service will give it a good seeing too. so then when i get back i will have a nice fresh car. with lots of plans for it.

Should be getting the motor back tonight or tommorow now, but i wont be driving it again till the 15th august because i am not going to tax it for 2 or 3 days and thenn i am on holiday till the 14th, so i have been in the country for about 2 weeks and still have not driven the lexus all the more reason to savour the moment when i do, total time of not driving is from the 18th November 2006.

Yeah mine is an SE and mine has the silver ball i thought all Lexus had them after seeing pictures.

I am going to order my PIAA blades tommorow when i get my car back.

Good work, sorry if i sound dumb but what does that do as i understand the front and rear strut braces makes the car stiffer when turning does this kit just do the same as that. I see your next mission is Lighting what plans do you have here?

Hi Jamie, just read through this whole thread and really impressed, i remember we both got the Lexus at roughly the same time and joined up on here. But where as i spent all my money going round the world you decided to spend it on your motor and an awesome job it is aswell. Now i have just got back i am starting on mine, i have just fitted a new aftermarket head unit, it has just gone for it's MOT this morning and passed. so all it needs is the 40k service doing now! When i get it back i am looking to buy some Piaa carbon window wipers and upgrading all the bulbs for the headlights and sidelights with some white lights! I have also been looking at getting an air filter it has been recommended to get the greddy one, but after reading this i might go for the same one. Another thing i have read is that you fitted them Carbon look covers under the bonnet, where did you get these from? I think the next thing i do is going to be right out a list and a time scale and then the journey starts. Once again great thread. well worth the read.

I would be up for that defo, need to get back into english life though been away for the last 8months, so save the money and then i will be there, would be a great week away.

News back this morning that the car that has passed its MOT fine, no work whatsoever so happy days and roll on getting it back so i can get on and play with it. where is the next meet after the 15th August?

I have fallen for the PIAA blades, the carbon ones look very nice i saw them on a black is200 at JAE and i have to get them now. the best i have found is £20 each from Speeding.co.uk, does anyone know anywhere cheaper. I know there was a site there at JAE that was selling them but didnt have 22" it was the first stand you came to when you came into the show if anyone can remember what that was that would help a lot.
