  1. Here it is straight from the manual Activate / Deactivate “I Agree” Automatic Bypass Function Put your device in Simple Mode by rapidly pressing the [sCAN] button 8 times (MUST BE DONE within 1-2 seconds). Push DISC REPEAT button to hear a long beep to toggle the “I Agree” Automatic Bypass Function ON and OFF. (For vehicles not equipped with DISC REPEAT as a physical button, push and hold the REPEAT button until you hear a long beep to toggle the “I Agree” Automatic Bypass Function ON and OFF. You can get the complete manual from here http://www.vaistech.com/sli.php Its at the bottom of the page Good Luck Pete
  2. Hi Just had a quick look on here before I unplug it and move house, this adapter is very easy to fit, I shall "refit" mine and take some photos, but you will have to bear with me as it will be a while before we are settled in our new home.... Watch this space Pete
  3. I'll try to find the book and let you know, we are moving on Monday and in a bit of a mess....... I doubt it, these are only available from across the pond as far as I'm aware, drive to Hull and I'll do it for half what they want!!!! Pete
  4. Alex Replace as a pair..... you'll be lucky you have to replace all four and the compressor..... only joking, I looked a while ago for anyone breaking a 430 and came up blank in the UK, there are quite a few on ebay.com (USA) but air suspension was an option there so you may be restricted but worth a look. If you do find someone breaking a RHD one please let me know Thanks and good luck Pete
  5. Hi Removing the radio is very easy and the Lexus doesn't mind what you unplug, I even tried the interface out before putting it back together so all the switches below the radio were unplugged and it all goes back together alright. If you want to do it yourself let me know and I'll supply step by step instructions, you will need a small right angle pry bar in stiff plastic or metal, this has to slip behind the wooden panel with the seat cooler buttons and pull it out, I use a very thin screwdriver with the last 10mm bent over at right angles, you also need a cross head screwdriver to undo 3 screws and a long reach 10mm socket to undo 2 bolts. I took out the cup holder (4 crossheads) to put the cable throught to the console box and had to cut a hole in the front of the box for the lead, I used a dremmel but you could do it with a drill or probably a craft knife, its about 1mm stiff plastic. It really is pretty easy. It worked out at about £130 with the postage which I didn't think too bad when you consider what you end up with... anyway not much more than a tank of petrol now.... If you fancy a drive I'll fit it for you! Pete
  6. Hi Just bought one of these from the states http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=180211888934 Took about 30mins to fit to the rear of the radio, ran the wire through the center console to the arm rest box and hey presto 80gb of dodgy old songs to listen to.... Anyway the very best bit is the programmable option to remove the need to agree to drive like a saint before the sat nav will come on, it just shows the screen for 5 seconds and then switches on.... Personally I would have paid the money just to have got that. The integration works just as it says on the ad and has been faultless up to now, it has not effected the Parrot blue tooth car kit either. Pete
  7. thermoacc, thanks for that, its good to have another knowledge base on here.... Kwickfits 10% cooler claim seems a bit funny to me as well, do they mean 10% of the difference between outside temperature and inside or 10% of the temp coming out of the vents.... i.e. 4 deg so 10% of 4 deg = 0.4 deg.... Pete
  8. Hi His is a 94 and didn't have traction unless it’s a Celsior, PWR mode does not affect VSC in your car (LS430) You can change to a lower gear on steep hills but don't use it to brake the car, i.e. slow it down, use it to keep the speed low... if that makes sense... Your 430 will change down anyway if the speed increases and you are not touching the accelerator... well mine does anyway. Don't think even the early 400's had a button under the pedal, I think it was on the throttle linkage further down stream. Your 430's pedal is just a variable resistor switch and not physically connected to anything, that’s how it backs off when the wheels start spinning and you've got your foot down. Pete
  9. Hi Maybe this is because you park it at home with one wheel on the pavement, has the car learnt that when parked like that it is level so adapts when you park it elsewhere, this is just a random thought..... how does the system know what is level??? Can't help with removing/testing the height sensors I'm afraid. Good Luck Pete
  10. Hi Under normal driving conditions you should not use the gear selector to change to a lower gear for engine braking, the gearbox is not designed for such use. It will wear the clutch bands and overheat the fluid if you do it often. If you are driving down a very steep hill you can select a lower gear at the top and not allow the car to change up to the higher gears to reduce your speed. Very recent automatics do change down to provide engine braking when you back off and the hill is so steep that the car starts to run away but they are uprated and can take the abuse. To make your autobox live a long time, leave it in drive and use your brakes to slow down.... new front pads are much cheaper than a transmission... Pete
  11. Hi Mine does not settle at all even after several days of sitting still.... Might be a small leak somewhere, get it checked a.s.a.p. or you run the risk of the compressor working overtime and failing... Good luck, let us know what happens Pete
  12. Hi Do you definatly know that someone has put the wrong fluid in the gearbox or do you just presume they have because of its colour.... only brown auto transmission fluid is a sign of a worn transmission, the fluid starts off nice and pink and when the bands in the box wear they stain the oil brown. If you want to do an oil change you will need a sump gasket and a new filter, you remove the sump to drain the oil, there isn't a sump plug, and change the filter at the same time. If there is a large amount of metal particles in the bottom of the sump then start looking for a new box. Sorry for delivering bad news.... Pete
  13. Hi I hate to throw a spanner in the works here but I am pretty sure that the fogging you are refering to is caused by moisture getting into the window, the laminated glass is three layers two outside ones of glass and a plastic inner layer, when the seal at the edge of the glass gives up, moisture gets in between the glass and the plastic. It is always seen at the edge of a window and effects a lot of older cars on the windscreen. There is no fix for it, replacement is the only cure. If you catch it quick you can stop it spreading out by sealing the edge of the window (if you can get access) Pete
  14. The government have a rolling three year promise to not put up tax on LPG any more than the same % as tax on petrol so the difference will be the same for at least the next three years.... It was much more than 30p a year ago, it hasn't been 30p for at least 3 years.... and I wish I could get it for nearly 50p, its 53p round here The cost difference for my car is still around £1000 for 10000 miles Pete
  15. Dave My point was that there are lots of cheap kits around, you can buy a front end kit for a few hundred pounds but the quality of it is terrible, it just won't work well on your pride and joy.... I intend to keep mine a while so opted for the best kit you can buy, the Prins, the front end kits are now about £800 trade, you then have to add tank, filler, fill hose etc etc and you can get to £1200 very easily if you speck the best, then add 2 1/2 - 3 days labour and you can see why it costs £2000... I have nothing against non LPGA installers, I just wonder why they don't join???? It doesn't cost much and 99% of insurance companies want to see a LPGA certificate. Would you let any old tradesman service your gas boiler.... Unfortunately there are no rules and regs regarding LPG installs and anyone can do it with no training or knowledge... if you go the non LPGA route just make sure they know what they are doing and check with your insurance company first. It also goes without saying that just because they are LPGA registered does not mean they are any good either, it’s just that you have some comeback.... To answer the other comments above about cheap bits.... would you fix your Lexus or service it with any old bit made in some backstreet in Eastern Europe???? If so then go ahead and use the cheapest bits you can find.... better start saving for new engine parts as well though.... Oh and I totally agree about "what the market can bear" which is why you have to do research on the kit offered to see if you are getting value for money. Good luck with whatever decision you make. Pete
  16. Dave Like most things in life you get what you pay for LANDIRENZO OMEGAS is a basic system of medium quality I have never heard of the Aldesa system, you will have to do a bit more research. Its easy to get a car to run OK on LPG, the trick is keeping it going OK and not damaging the engine by poor mixture, the cheaper kits are very basic and setting them up is a compromise.... If you are going to keep the car for a while buy the best you can afford. Most of the good LPG converters are up to their ears in work at the moment as the price increase in petrol has taken effect.... Don't use a converter who can "do it tomorrow".... the question to ask is "why?"...... Pete
  17. Dave See this link for the install on mine... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=49175 How many of the companies stated that you would need a flash lube kit (upper cylinder and valve lubrication) as the 300 engine is known to suffer from valve seat recession, if they didn't then don't use them, they should have known and they should have told you the consequences. The flash lube kits are good but you do have to remember to fill them up, let them run out and you will get an expensive bill.... Stay away from GreenFuel they use local installers and bung their bit on top.... I would only ever fit Prins to my cars, it is a great kit, others have had good results with other kits though.... Prins are just bringing out a built in valve lube kit that injects the lubricant along with the LPG, this is a much better idea as the amount is controlled more accurately. With a flash lube you can over do it and coke up the engine.... Anyway this should not put you off, just make sure the installer is LPGA registered and get some references. If you want a saving calculator then try this one http://autogasyorkshire.com/savings-calculator.php Good Luck Pete
  18. Hi This will be dry rubber suspension bushes, it happens to all makes of cars in dry climates, local garage should know the best fix.... doesn't happen in this part of the world due to too much rain........ Pete
  19. Hi and welcome to the club. Have you just bought the car? have they always been like this? I know mine seem to be quite high and pick up road signs well but I haven't actually had anyone flash at me yet. Pete.
  20. Hi You have posted this in the wrong section... try the GS section instead, or you may have more luck trying the USA Lexus Owners Club here http://www.lexusownersclub.com/ Good Luck and welcome Pete
  21. bazgtr I've had a good search on here and can't find anything about problems with earlier LS430's, do you have a link or can you shed some more light please Thanks Pete
  22. Hi, The guy who was advertising on ebay has stopped now but there is this company in Bournmouth who do it but its about twice the price of the guy in the USA http://soarer.tv/Lexus-Sat-Nav-Touch-Scree...-Conversion.htm But it is fitted for you, the one on ebay was a kit There is still someone advertising ipod interface on ebay see http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...888934&rd=1 Pete
  23. Keith I know just what you mean, they have added technology to the car as and where they can untill the revamp to the 460.... progress eh... Pete
  24. Anuj Hi, my LS has the same colour inside, the best thing I have found to clean it is those "magic erasers" they sell in the cleaning isle in Asda, they are like a very dense but soft sponge, you cut then with a knife to the size you want and make them just damp then lightly rub the surface and all the dirt gets eaten up by them, rinse it out and wipe the next bit, I then dry off any dampness with a microfiber cloth and away you go, no nasty chemicals... they work brilliantly on all of the inside including the cloth headlining etc. If you haven't used them or seen them you will think I'm mad, but just try one, you will be amazed how good they are, they only cost about a quid. I then put some leather food on, that was the tricky bit, getting it on without filling up the perforated leather... Good luck Pete
  25. baxgtr Never heard of these niggles.... you have me worried now, what should I be looking for? Pete
