    Hello, today ive put in half leather seats into an is200s ,is it true that to get the seats to power i must run a fused positive feed from the battery to the white wire under the seat or any better ways thanks

    Baz there is no problem that cant be solved on this site mate , not that you should have many, the biggest problem is usually petrol.

    Put in 5w30 oil and toyota filter as advised by lexus . See how we do . No leaks found around engine, sump or filter either. Ive used one of those magnetic blue sump plugs this time for a change.

    I will have to get under car again and see if ive missed owt , the actual amount ive used is the difference between the top and btm points on the dipstick . Honestly guys the engine is very clean i last looked 4 weeks ago . I just wondered as the engine ages if it uses more oil ie piston rings or piston wear

    Definately no oil leak , everything dry and clean ,its been gradually been worsening over last 18 months . I had my car serviced and not sure what oil was used so i must ask mechanic , as he is a former toyota engineer.Im not too concerned .

    The s model has cloth seats and 16 inch wheels though they can be changed at a later date. The mileage should not be a problem as these engines are very strong. The reg really doesnt matter as the car was changed very little over 6 years . But also look at the is300 as this has the same engine as the toyota supra non turbo and instead of 153 hp you have 211 ish and it has full leather interior . If possible see those for sale by someone on these sites

    Anyone any views on those blitz or knn oil filters . I do about 1000 miles a month mate and i thought a thicker viscosity oil may help in the comsumption problem . I always change oil every 6 months.John, those genuine filters do look a decent deal.

    Hello guys my is200 has used about 2 litres of oil since service in march .Im about to change oil now , ive always used 5/30 before and car has done 125,000 miles. LEND ME YOUR EXPERT EARS

    Martin unfortunately the wife didnt budge on the change of car , but i wont congratulate you on your sale as it was not of your choice . Good luck in finding a car as good as that looked, my is200s looks far below that of yours mate , slowly my s model is turning into a sport model

    wish i knew these were on ive asked man who made some previously and once his lathe is mended he is going to make some more . he is the same guy who makes the s/steel clock surrounds

    Lets all drive to the euro building in brussels remove our silencers and race around it . Do they also realise all the jobs that may go if something like this is implemented.

    ians200 was it a big job to change s model seats for se/sports seats only ive been told its not a straight forward job , im watching a full set on ebay

    Get an s model and swap 16 inch wheels for 17 inch wheels put a sports grille on it then apart from half leather seats its as good as the others , may even work out cheaper that way

    I think thats too far gone for a rust eater mate it needs welding i think, my son had an imprezza and his was not as bad as this but still had to be welded .Once youve done it cover it in underbody sealant i did all mine and it is a good preventative . Dont waste money on rust eater or similar

    ive got to admit the car sounds a bit better with this filter in , it seems to roar a bit more than normal ,and ive not removed and reset battery terminals

    Had to also have no 1 coil pack car now fine thanks to KP AUTODIAGNOSTICS 07791993545 (belper derbyshire) friendly extremely helpful and very reasonable and honest a gentleman Kevan parsisson. He also does servicing, repairs brakes exhausts and emissions

    not really mate the worst thing is either the dash removal or the masking off inside the car , the carbon wrap its on ebay just look at size you want .If you do it use either a heat gun or hairdryer for moulding the wrap looks loads better than grey .

    Dont recall mate but he has the best diagnostic laptop ive ever seen you see my car will fire up ,rev for a few secs then cut out he explained how and why that is . New sensor arrives monday afternoon , he is positive that is the cause lets hope so thanks colin

    Thanks errol original seats it is then , just had crank sensor blow friday out of action till monday green flag said front lambda but auto electrician sorted it out and only charged me 15 quid if anyone wants his details ask me ill give them you (derby and notts area).thanks guys ian

    So much for green flag ive had an auto electrician today and its the crank sensor ,anyway ive got a refund on the lambda but i have to wait till monday afternoon for the part .On another point i called lexus derby 3 times this morning and no one had the decency to call me back so i called again and they were shut ,the lass on reception said they would help me on monday DONT THINK SO , DERBY BRANCH A BIT IGNORANT UNLESS I WAS SPENDING LOADS OF MONEY .Ive not got much respect for green flag either .I suppose 1 time in 5 years aint so bad as rocky said to clubber lang

    mines black and apart from the seats looks nowt like a standard s model although seats may last longer than leather ones all dash etc black and carbon wrap but 5 years ago the 1st thing i did was bin those awful wheels and naf grille is it hard to change to leather heated seats eg wiring for front seats mine is the nicest looking lex round here but black is a sod to keep clean
