  1. Yeah, that's what I mean. I really don't think it should be there, but I don't know what's causing it. The supercharger pulls really nice, so it's definitely working.
  2. Good evening, I'm sorry for posting another thread, but I just want to be sure if the supercharger is really supposed to sound like this on tickover and low revs. The high pitched sound is quite loud, even inside the car. Please just tell me if your superchargers sound like this: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Cheers
  3. Thanks mates :) Do people actually read pinned threads? :P Regarding the larger wheels, I've finally fitted my summer wheels again, as they are now legal. The steering feels a lot heavier now because I got used to driving around on my 16" 195mm winter tyres :) I think the wheel change calls for some fresh pics then, I can't speak for other people but I looked for ages for this thread after i'd been away for a while cos I wanted to catch up on the progress... PIN IT!!! (please :D ) I will take some new pics of the car on friday night. All my photo equipment will be brought to the car meet in Stockholm. Actually, everytime I'm about to update this thread I just google "Swedish IS200" and there it is :P But of course it would be an honor to be pinned :) Wow, you must really like my pics. I'm flattered, those are nice montages. Thank you once again :) _________________________________________________ Last weekend I finally fitted my sideskirts and my supercharger kit. There was a bit of a hazzle, but now it works fantastic :D I'm just not sure about a certain sound it makes in idle, but apart from that I'm super happy with the power increase. Unfortunately I was so eager to get it fitted that I forgot to document the whole process. Anyway, these are three pictures from the supercharging: Before: During: After: By the way, I know I have to do something about my wire forrest to the left. There are so many things I don't know where to put; ballasts for the HIDs, ballasts for the CCFL halos, control unit and wires for my HID strobes, a lot of wires for my 6x55W extra lights etc. :duh: Today I went to the paint shop to quickly fit my CF bonnet and let the guys over there tape it up. Here you can see the side skirts and a little bit of the intercooler A lot of 1C0 color samples. Apparently mine is called 1C0 GE The bonnet is sanded down and ready for paint and a new clear coat. It will be painted tonight and I will fit it immediately after work tomorrow. I also took a trip to a town not so far from here, to pick up my new Falken tyres. They will be fitted tomorrow morning while my car is getting a full wheel alignment That's about it for now. More pics will follow when my car is completely assembled and cleaned again :) Cheers and good night
  4. Sorry, I wasn't clear. The sound is present from the second my engine starts, you can hear it following the rpm when it settles in idle. I will replace my chocolate screws tomorrow :P
  5. A colleague of mine is a former Mercedes-Benz salesman. He told me the sound could be made because the supercharger has not been used before. Apparently all supercharged Mercedeses sound like this when they arrive from the factory. I’m also suspicious towards the supercharger pulley screws. I read that they are quite unreliable, but can they cause this whining sound? Cheers
  6. Hello mateys :) I will answer all your replies later, I'm just home for lunch now. I just recorded the sound of my supercharger and I belive there is a high pitched whine that shouldn't be there. You can hear it up to about 2000rpm and then it disappears. The supercharger pulls really good, but I'm just not sure about this sound it makes. Please try to identify it for me. Cheers Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  7. Good evening :) I'm so thankful for all your help, mates. If I make it to JAE this year I'll bring as many cookies as you can eat :P Although the suggestions I got here didn't solve the problem they certainly kept my spirit high and made me continue all day. The problem now seems solved and it wasn't due to an electronic failure at all, turns out it was far more silly than that. In this picture I've marked the metal thingy that holds the inlet side of the bypass valve wire in place. That's how it's fitted right now, but initially I put it on top of the other metal thingy that holds the main throttle wire in place (I really need an English dictionary, I know). Because of that the supercharger wire was stretched out a bit which means the bypass valve closed too early. I finally realized it was misplaced and after I moved it everything worked great. This evening I've driven my car quite a bit and I'm so happy with the way it turned out :D I will now get a boost guage to make sure there aren't any leaks and I will also fiddle around with the different FCD settings to optimize the experience. I had to chop my bumper up to make room for the intercooler pipes, so I'm quite happy I don't have a genuine Legana bar :P Here's a before and an after pic of the engine bay. Cheers and good night Hopefully by tomorrow I will have a short video of the supercharger in action. I just want to make sure it sounds like it's supposed :)
  8. I'd love to know that, but how do I read the ECU? Have you got an obd2 reader mate? or you resetting the ecu light by removing the fuses? Unfortunately I don't, I reset the ECU by removing the fuses :( Edit: Is there a way to test if the HKS FCD is even working at all?
  9. I'd love to know that, but how do I read the ECU?
  10. UPDATE AGAIN: All connections are soldered, the supercharger belt is tightened, the ECU is reset and the bypass wire is adjusted to close later. However, the problem is still present. I've noticed that I can accelerate slowly to around 4k rpm and then step on it without any problems, but when I push the throttle hard in low revs the engine light comes on along with the trc off light and the car slows down. I'm running out of ideas. Please let me know what you think. EDIT: What should be the difference between FCD setting 9 and setting 12? I've now tried both setting and I must say I can't notice any difference.
  11. UPDATE: I've now tried setting 12 on the HKS FCD and it actually runs a bit better. I did som hard acceleration in first and second gear, which was great. However, when I put my foot down in third gear and low revs it immediately went into this "limp mode". I read in another thread about a vacuum sensor that freaks out if there is overpressure in the inlet. Shouldn't this be prevented by the piggyback ECU? EDIT: Hello mate, The crimps came with the FCD and I put them on myself. I'll try soldering them immediately. Thanks
  12. Sure, mate :) Here it is. I've cut the green wire with red stripe and connected the FCD yellow wire to the ECU end and the white wire to the other end. Looking at your pic mate, is the black FCD wire connected to a black wire with a white stripe? i connected mine to one of the 3 white wires with a black stripe as there the earth wires? No, the black wire is connected to one of the three white (looks kind of pink in the picture) wires with a black stripe :)
  13. Sure, mate :) Here it is. I've cut the green wire with red stripe and connected the FCD yellow wire to the ECU end and the white wire to the other end.
  14. Thank you for all your replies, mates :) Unfortunately the problem remains. I soldered the FCD connections, reset the ECU and took the car for a spin... same problem. It's fine until I really push the throttle, then the engine light comes on and TRC OFF starts flashing, as well as the car refusing to build up revs. I tried disconnecting the HKS FCD and connected the ECU wires the way they were. I also disconnected the supercharger bypass valve wire so that it remained open, reset the ECU and tried again. This time everything worked like the car had never seen a supercharger, no warning lights but of course no gain from the charger as it was both electronically and mechanically disconnected. Next I connected the bypass valve again to let the engine build up boost on throttle, but I let the FCD be disconnected. This time the problem appeared again, when I stepped on it. Like Stav mentioned it feels like I hit the fuel cut, but I can't notice any difference between the original ECU setting and setting 9 and 10 on the HKS FCD
  15. I'm so glad you are awake and willing to help out here. A million thanks and congratulations on your 9999th post :) I'm eager to get up tomorrow and try to fix the problem. I will let you know how it goes, I'm so tired right now and I can see my English is kind of dodgy :P
  16. Actually no, I haven't soldered the connections. The red and black wires are connected to the ECU with these thingys I'm afraid I have no idea what the other connections are called, but they are not soldered. I will try that tomorrow.
  17. My god, that was quick. Thank you for the reply, mate :) I used the wiring diagram that came with the supercharger installation manual, but of course the colors didn't match the FCD. Earlier I found a 'translation' for the HKS FCD. Unfortunately I don't have it here, but I think it was red -> red, black -> black, green -> yellow and yellow -> white. The setting is 9. Edit: That's the wiring diagram I used, but I don't recognize the upper part of it. I'm sure the HKS FCD only has four wires, should there be more?
  18. Well, I've now spent the whole day fitting my supercharger kit and just took the car for a test drive. At first everything seemed fine, it sounded lovely when i drove slowly on the gravel road towards the main road. Finally, when I pushed the throttle a bit harder the car suddenly went into what I suppose is some kind of limp mode. The engine light came on and the TRC OFF light started flashing. I was able to drive my car back to my home but it's now to dark outside to keep working. I will continue tomorrow, but if anyone has got an idea of what might be wrong I would be super glad to know what you think. I will take some pictures of how the HKS FCD is connected and upload them tomorrow. Cheers everyone, and happy easter :)
  19. translation courtesy of google : Hey, nice car, where you have purchased a new interior? ... thanks now thats alot better. That's actually a very accurate translation, which language did you choose? That's not Swedish, but Norwegian :) Tack så mycket för den trevliga komplimangen. Min nya inredning köpte jag från en bildemontering här i Sverige, den kommer från en inlöst IS200 -04 som bara hade gått 821 mil. ...and in English: I got my new interior from a breaker here in Sweden. It was lifted from a 2004 IS200 with only 5131 miles on the clock. Good old Google for the translation :D (Can we have this thread pinned by any chance?) Thanks mates :) Do people actually read pinned threads? :P Regarding the larger wheels, I've finally fitted my summer wheels again, as they are now legal. The steering feels a lot heavier now because I got used to driving around on my 16" 195mm winter tyres :)

  21. Now it's time for an update! :D The reason I didn't reply earlier is because there were so many posts to answer. I've now replied to all of them and you can find my answers after this update. Cheers! _________________________________________________________________ Here's my schedule for the next two weeks: 12th of April - Fitting of the TRD side skirts and the Seibon CF bonnet (maybe also the bonnet struts) 13th of April - Fitting of my TTE supercharger kit 16th of April - Fitting of my new Falken FK-452 tyres and full wheel alignment 17th of April - Car meet in Stockholm My bonnet is currently at a paint shop. I visited three other paint shops before I finally found one that didn't refuse to paint carbon fiber bodyparts. Hopefully the bonnet will be painted tomorrow night. I just ordered a set of Falken tyres and I really hope I get them before my scheduled wheel alignment. Last weekend I replaced my rear brake discs and pads. I also fitted lowering springs that I'm really happy with. The result I was aiming for is the same distance from the wheel arch to the tyre all around. I don't want my car to look lowered, if you know what I mean. This is a picture I took the other night. The wide angle lens messed up my rear camber angle quite a lot, but you can see it's not an SUV anymore :D As I mentioned, my supercharger kit arrived a while ago. _________________________________________________________________ Cheers :) I ordered the camera from Dave, but apparently Geoffers sends these things out. Last friday I still had no reverse camera. I asked for a refund and got the money immediately. I think I'll just get a JVC reverse camera from my local electronics store. Thanks mate, I really appreciate that. Now that I've already paid for most of my summer mods the funds will start to pile up again. Soon I'll be ready to go for a Legana import :P Cheers asi :) I'd rather not compare it to other cars, though. All of them are nice in their own way :) Hello Roberto, I specifically asked for a centre dial with the original 'LEXUS' word on it. I just thought it would be too much with a Lexus logo on the steering wheel and another one just inches away. I'd like to think there is a thought behind every detail on the car and I don't want to spoil it :P Actually i would do it if the Swedish MOT system weren't so strict. Before every MOT I already have to replace many of my mods with the original parts. The TTE supercharger I just bought is certainly not legal, that's the reason I'm sticking with all black hoses in the engine bay, to keep it look as factory standard as possible. Fortunately, the fact that there are only 1225 registered IS200s in Sweden makes it easier as few of the MOT guys have ever seen one and therefore don't know if they are supposed to be supercharged or not. Thank you, matey :) I'm not sure if I mentioned it earlier, but the 17th of April I'm going the the first nearby car meet of the year, in Stockholm. That's my deadline for this season's upgrades. After that there will only be small mods (reverse camera, further upgraded speaker system etc.). However, next winter I might go for the paint job I've wanted for so long. If so, the new color scheme will be pearl white, carbon fiber black and a little bit of chrome. The ones in that picture were discovered after many months of searching. I bought them from a guy in Canada after I found one of his posts about it, dated 2005 :) I just bought myself two new sets from the second group buy batch, though.
  22. I was recently offered to buy one of these from a guy in NZ when I was looking for a Legana bumper. I didn't realize they are sought after. If anyone is interested I can ask him if he still has it.
  23. Yes Aido I know they are crap. I did ask for badges but this is what I got :crybaby: why not try toyota??? the corolla compressor came with a very nice badge think it say'd tte compressor under the corolla badge.it was a proper gel type sticker. They dont list the badge on the system for the corolla compressor, due it being a special run of only 250 corolla s/c's produced , I spent over an hour at my local toyota dealer trying to find it on there system, but i do know the part numbers for the compressor badges due to a very long search :) if you give me the part number i'll see what i can do for yous lucky buggers with a charger!!i work as a tec for toyota so i get discount!! :winky: The part number should be TTE-COMPRE12. I'm also interested in a few of these :)
  24. I've taken mine up to 221 km/h (GPS) a few times, and it still wants to accelerate a bit more. However, the limit is the rev limiter in 6th gear.
