  1. Of course it matters...peoples likes and dislikes control the sales of a car!! The fact that you like it is great....good for you....and for the people that don't like it, when they have had enough of their 'classic' IS200 they will 'move on'....probably to something different or even different brand altogether! Remember everyone here can form their own opinions....for whats its worth it has grown on me a bit since yesterday and I do think that it looks smart....but when the day comes for selling up I don't like it enough to buy one! P.S I have just noticed that they stuck an orange indicator lense in the rear light clusters .....thats not very cool!!
  2. Your right it is easy to criticise....but as a lot of people have pointed out (and i think this is the key here) we were taken right away with the looks of the current model, like love at first site!! Sure some people here are liking the new style, but the majority are not thinking WOW and the WOW reaction is what we were all hoping for!!!
  3. ok... Front = a cross between RX and Hundai Coupe Back = very much like the new BMW 5 series Wheels = just like the new Jag style ....on the plus....I really like the interior as long as they have options other than wood!! But on a whole like Colin said it's lost it's idenity!!!!
  4. It's an IS220d Steve...thats what it says on the back!! :D
  5. On a whole I like it...first dislike....the style of the side windows....but it also looks very beefy!!
  6. From PhoneDromes picture looking at the front of the IS under it's cover....it looks similar in shape to the new Honda Accord....but granted thats through a black cover! I like the look of the wheels too..... and I personally think that Lexus won't let us down! There is gonna be more to the new IS than the past magazine pics have led us to believe, I know it!! Only an hour to go Steve....or being GMT can we see now!!!
  7. There isn't one...so why bother cr4ping on the thread......for the people that don't care....why bother posting ....oh sorry helps with the post count doesn't it! ;) Anyway to keep with the theme of the thread...I agree with Rod....plus being so far detached from reality and abused like he was from the age of 5 must still be hard for him too deal with!
  8. Well Friday just gone was to be my car day....and it most definately was!! Had a big list of things I wanted to complete, but here's what I managed to do between the hours of 10am and 6pm.... First on the list was cleaning the car....salt on the roads + rain = With that out the way I set on installing my boost gauge...i decided to go in thorough the rubber gromit behind the battery. Took everything out that was in the way and got the tubing into the footwell, to do this I got a coat hanger, taped the tubing to it and fed it through the gromit. Next I turned to fitting the T section....Chris you were not joking about needing patience for this part....a lot of cursing and cut's on my hands later it was installed and secured in place. At this point I was well chuffed with myself....then I had a thought, what if it was the wrong pipe.... ....nah I was confident! I cleaned up the engine bay and put everything back together, did a test with the gauge in the passenger footwell....I had boost pressure!!! :D :D Next I ran the left over pipe through the bottom of the centre console and installed the gauge behind the gearstick angled up towards me...tested again and I was cooking!! Next job was to fit my braided brake hoses which have been in the garage for sometime now ....well I have been busy you know!! This job killed the rest of the afternoon and me.....bleeding the brake system was probably the messiest job I have carried out on my car!! It also took a lot of effort to complete, but the results are fantastic!! When all was finished and clean away I went out for a little spin and pressed the brake pedal, fairly hard around 30mph........ :o :duh: ...that would be the car stopped then!! ....really responsive and has firmed up the braking no end...if anybody is thinking about this mod I would highly recommend it!! Now I need to convince Lindsay that another day of my leave is needed to work on the things I didn't manage to finish on Friday!!!
  9. Excellent...thank you Chris! :)
  10. Thanks buddy...things weren't easy but a fresh start is exactly whats gonna happen!
  11. right hand?? ...i'm ambidextrous!
  12. Thanks Zee...as helpfull as ever!! :) ...and Paul...you know how much you love being used!! ....but anyway I wasn't asking you so :P
  13. Ok...bought an Apexi boost gauge the other day and gonna get down to fitting it this friday....could someone please advise which pipe i need to cut by the throttle body to fit the T section please (any piccies would be coolio)...also any tips for giving it power for the lights etc...oh and the best place to feed the pipe through from the engine bay to the cabin? :D (P.S. I'm fitting it down by the gearstick on top of the ash tray). Thanks - Neil
  14. Cheers Zee...all's well here matey! B) Paul...MSN is back on line buddy ;) Dave, Andy cheers boys and a Happy New Year to you both too!! Aido....well been a few ups and downs towards the end of 2004....I got engaged to my girlfriend in October, obviously the best thing....my mum and dad told me that they are moving to Australia and my grandad who was like a father too me passed away suddenly at the begining of November!! That was very difficult for me!! and with a few other personal difficulties mixed in for good measure, it wasn't so happy in the Fever household!! But anyway...2005 is back on track and I'm putting some more time and money into the Lex...she has taken a bit of a backseat over the past 5 months...got some good things planned! As for LOC...first I thought I had walked onto the wrong site...it all looks different now! Zee and Duncan have both sold there cars :o ...Steveaudio's looks like its going (Steve, thats way too cheap by the way!!) and Aido's looking all pimped up now, very nice mukka...I'm sure I've missed lots more, but i'll catch up!! B) Plus so many new LOC'ers it feels like I don't know anyone now!
  15. LOL... ...never stopped mate!
  16. Cheers Bazza...Merry Christmas to you too matey!! :D
  17. Hi Steve mate, been very busy with work...had a few personal problems at home too...things are looking up now though!!
  18. Being, nearly one month in...but seeing as I haven't been around LOC for a while...I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year!! Hope everybody is well.....best of luck for 2005 guys and gals!!
  19. Ok guys and gals....as promised a few pics... 1. Sandwich plate that they will be offering with the kit...complete with thermostat to engage oil cooling at the correct stage! 2. This is the oil filter fitted behind my front grill...a nice black one to blend in! 3. These are the braided hose lines..they come complete with top quality heavy duty adonised connectors at each end! 4. and if anyone is interested a sample oil catch can i purchased from them..comes with blue silicon pipe to replace standard breather pipe...lots of other catch cans avaliable, different sizes and finishes!! Some chrome bling ones avaliable too..prices to follow soon!! I haven't had time to remove the grill...but when I do you'll get some better pictures of the filter setup and other associated bits! I also have made a little video clip of the dodgy HKS sandwich plate so you can see why it's not of a very good standard!...I'll upload that tomorrow as i'm using my dial-up connection at the mo! Anyway...you know where Dave is if you require any of the above items! Enjoy! B)
  20. Right...by the way, you've asked for it...now I've gone and changed my avatar...you got to admit that's a cool picture!! :P :P I took it... ...but I'm still no plane spotter...
  21. Steve...that's just gay!! Rob...you have a PM mate... ....actually....what am I saying, no you don't!!!!!! :o :o By the way...I am not a plane spotter, I keep trying to tell you all that!!!
  22. Sorry guys...been a busy boy today! I'm gonna take some shots of the setup tonight and have them uploaded ASAP! I can tell you that the job has been done very nicely...top quality kit involved and I was very chuffed with the agreed price for us LOC'ers!! Just a little story for you, the guy in charge was measuring everything up...Dave had lent him a HKS sandwich plate incase they had any trouble with their model (no problems by the way). When he first took the HKS sandwich plate out the bag he said, wow that looks like a very nice bit of kit....later, on closer inspection, he said that the threads on the bolts and fixtures were too loose...which he actually thought was very poor, his words were...thats just unacceptable I would never dream of selling something that substandard!! So it proves you don't always get what you think your getting for your money!! ;)
  23. See kids it's not a good idea to sniff the marker pens and tipp-ex when your at work!
