  1. . . . do you use it? Can it only be used in Sports mode? I haven't experimented with it yet but once or twice when I have switched to Sports mode the IS proves it is no slouch and the engine sounds impressive as the speed builds. I've yet to try the paddle shifters but I'm assuming engine noise will always accompany that mode?
  2. I think this is the one you are after Rob - I'd seen it months ago on the Club Lexus forum - excellent one it is too! http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-third-generation/692853-the-amazing-shots-project-2014-lexus-is.html
  3. Hi David from Cumbria! Lexus Newcastle have been superb from start to finish but I have ordered several cars from them in the past and never had a problem Dameon Rudd (Sales Manager) has been a pleasure to deal with and I'm sure you will find them very good to deal with too. It looks like I may have to take the Lex back to them this week re the rattle unless I can discover the cause myself but I'm very confident that they will sort the problem out without any fuss. David from Durham (but Sunderland really!)
  4. Mine has developed a rattle coming from the top of the dash on the passenger side - it seems to stem from the speaker cover or the air vents. I'm hoping after some opening and shutting of the vents and pressing down on the cover that it will disappear - the main reason I got rid of my Evqoue was because of the incessant rattling
  5. I'm not too dissapointed about not having it either, it's already a fantastic ride as it is - even though the dial doesn't have S+ displayed if you look at the gear selector it is marked S+ on there for some reason
  6. Thanks for the info guys - I'm a happy bunny now - it does indeed have keyless entry - I was expecting a card rather than a fob - the dealer never mentioned whether it was keyless or not!
  7. Picked up my Ultra Blue F Sport today (pictured) - I'm absolutely delighted with it in all aspects, its so much better in real time than in the pictures and as Ian said earlier, the so called "drone" is a complete myth - one disappointment though - I had the impression that the F Sport came with keyless entry as standard - has anyone had to specify this as an optional extra or have I indeed been misled and should have it as standard?
  8. Cracking report Ian - makes me look forward to Sunday too - I think quite a few of us will be picking up our new motors then - the so called "drone" was a big worry for me so you have put my mind further to rest . Thanks,
  9. Tel - does the Bluetooth function read out text messages - I have that on a CT200 courtesy car at the moment and I think it is a nice touch. I'm assuming that if it is on the CT it definitely will be on the IS too?
  10. Most balanced and comprehensive review I've read yet http://www.autoevolution.com/
  11. :( Why the sad face, is that a problem? It's just that earlier in the thread the impression was given that it would be standard on the F Sport if specified with navigation - seemingly this isn't the case if it is a factory fit "option" - never mind, it sounded far too complex to me in any case!
  12. I really do hope that they come up with something to fill in the gaps where the cup holders are - I know they will suit some people but I would very rarely use them.
  13. Thank you Jonas I've been told that I can have the same size wheels/tyres all round for my winter set up rather than the normal "stepped" arrangement. I am ordering my alloys/tyres this week because they are sure to increase in price once we move into September/October. On another note does anyone know which type of Bridgestone Turanza's we have on our F Sports? - I know that a new improved version was bought out a few months back so fingers crossed they are the ones that we have fitted as standard.
  14. . . . what exactly is the "Premium" navigation system? - My F Sport has navigation specified, wonder if that will qualify for AVS? I asked my dealer what the difference is between the Premium and the non Premium. As I understand it, there is no non premium! Sounds good to me, another little unexpected extra

  16. Got to disagree regarding Ultrasonic Blue - it's by far the best colour for a sports orientated car, that's one of the reasons it is exclusive to the F Sport - have a look on the Club Lexus forums - they are up in arms because USB isn't an option in the USA - its resale value will be absolutely fine. But of course, I'm biased.
  17. I suppose the price difference is a big factor too - I was offered the A6 Black Edition for £26k - almost 10k off list but I still couldn't resist the F Sport with options for £35k. If you think the A4 is a better all round car and also cheaper then it is a no brainer.
  18. I think I have sourced the alloy wheels and winter tyres that I want - can anyone tell me if I can just put 19in. wheels on the F Sport as straight replacements or will some other settings have to be taken into account. I'm technically stupid :eerrrmm:
  19. A4 over the IS - I don't want to sound rude but the Audi is so boring and common - I even found my A5 hum drum and I can only think that the A4 is worse. Each to their own though and its your opinion that counts. Good luck with it but I bet you will have a tinge of regret each time you see the IS on the road.
  20. Regarding quietness maybe the engine needs to be run in for a while, after a few more thousand miles I'm sure it will appear "overly quiet" - all the reviews reckon this is one of the IS300h's great strengths and after all you were doing 95mph withough even realising it! Agree with you regarding the wheels - 19 inchers would have looked much more appealing but then again the ride would be even firmer.
  21. Congratulations Michael - it sounds a fantastic car - mine arrived at the dealership today but I'm not picking it up until the new reg is out in a couple of weeks time. Enjoy :D
  22. Welcome David - exact same spec as me and I'm also expecting to take delivery for the beginning of September even though the car is more likely to arrive within the next two weeks (I think waiting a little longer will be worth while to get the new reg). I have an Ultra Blue CT courtesy car at the moment and I've got to say it is a fantastic colour and will suit the F Sport perfectly.
  23. All down to what you really want in an engine - personally I want refinement so the hybrid suits me perfectly - to be honest one of the main reasons that I traded in my IS250 four years ago and moved to Audi was the fact that the engine, even then, was a little outdated and thirsty. If I remember rightly the road tax was going to be £400 :eerrrmm: Hopefully it has received a few updates in that time which makes it a bit more acceptable.
