  1. Singapore is a very small island you know.... 64,000 miles is a lot for a place so tiny Anything that can be affected by very high humidity and heavy use of Air con would be my concern
  2. I'm sorry, but this sort of thing really winds me up How can people expect others to accept responsibility for THEIR utter stupidity This is why insurance premiums rise year on year We'll be just like the US soon - if you stick a screwdriver in your eye when you are drunk, you sue the hardware company who manufactured the screwdriver, the hardware shop who sold you the screwdriver and the off license that sold you the beer..... of course there's no question of you yourself shouldering any of the blame :shutit: Rant over
  3. I had to use the AA once whilst in a company car on the way home from Bristol. Bloody thing (Rover - and it was a dog) broke down just outside Bristol, and it took them 10 (yes TEN) hours to relay me back to Manchester My comments in the message book in each waiting room got more and more evil the longer it took, so I voted with my feet ........ I then joined the RAC who do one stop door to door :D (although I've never had to use them)
  4. See previous post from Wildrnes .............told you it was mad in there tonight Everyone is called jac for a reason I haven't been able to fathom, but it's fun!!
  5. It's utter madness in there tonight...............
  6. That's the one :D Zee, you truly are the fount of all motoring knowledge
  7. Matt (Wildrnes) has put his display in the storage compartment behind the drinks holder. (Sort of arm rest thingy with the padded lid) You don't see the display at all, and you just lift the lid when you're in reverse - if you want to. The beeping gets quicker the closer you are to what's behind, so more often than not you don't actually need to see the display
  8. Hi Claire Is this a "friend" ???? Or is there something you really want to tell us........... :winky: There was something recently where if you fill in the form admitting it was you and send it back but don't sign it, they can't do you. Famous footballer or someone like that. Don't know all the details - but there is definitely a loophole - depends how quick they move to close it, given the amount of publicity the case got. Best of luck to your "friend" Linda
  9. My first step with anything like that is always to turn the computer off and back on again Sometimes sorts the problem out...... .......but sometimes doesn't Not much help I know, but worth a go
  10. It's not a problem - believe me You don't notice the reverse beep once the Quanans start And you will appreciate the reversing beep one day
  11. Wow - that's super Well done everyone :D Imagine if all our members were to join GOLD.......
  12. Thanks guys - I knew someone would be able to help I have managed to copy the inbox.dbx stuff into Word (wow - I had a lot in my inbox..... ) When I go into Outlook Express and select inbox I get the following message: Folder could not be displayed. Outlook Express could not open this folder. Possible causes are low disk space or low memory (neither of these possible causes is possible here - old comp is free from most junk, has plenty of RAM available and more than enough memory) It will let me in to Drafts, deleted and out box - just not the inbox - which was working when I deleted it Any further help gratefully appreciated :)
  13. Yes, it was a super Omega, the owner works for Opel in Rudesheim (sp?) This was his UK company car which he'd taken back with him prior to his German replacement being available- hence the speedo in MPH Oh, and I'll hold the camera, no probs. :D
  14. That's 3 threads so far you've posted this on... Feels good, doesn't it? I did 160 in an Omega near Frankfurt a couple of years ago - then came to roadworks. :duh: Good job it had decent brakes :)
  15. Hope someone can help.... Got Windows 95 on the old comp Also got Windows Commander Decided to play around with stuff (don't ask), and as a result can no longer access Outlook Express. To make matters worse, I appear to have deleted the contents of my inbox - although it seems to be there in the deleted box, but again I can't get into it - it brings it all up in Wordpad or something Can I restore the system to a previous date and undo everything I've done, or is it terminal.......? Thanks Linda (You know when you think you really oughtn't to have done something.........)
  16. So who is the victim? (That's what I was asking, but I wasn't clear, sorry.....) And I'm glad you found a closed road to test your speedo works all the way round :D
  17. What's worse than a BMW driver? A BMW X5 driver.... and I can say that without fear of retribution from anyone - it's straight from the mouth of a friend who has one He can sit in the BMW lane - it doesn't matter if there's someone behind him because he can speed up if he wants to, and he is doing the maximum speed he considers safe for the conditions........ He doesn't need to use his indicators because he can see over most of the other traffic on the road, and he KNOWS his manoeuvre will be safe........ So, now I know not to be so exasperated, because they are only acting for the common good, and to save us lesser drivers from putting ourselves in danger! ;) Until recently this guy drove a GS300 ..... :duh:
  18. Many Happy Returns, Boss Have a super day Linda
  19. Rachel - you should NOT be reading this - you'll go blind
  20. :winky: Wouldn't know myself, but I've heard it also - depends what "he's" eaten Strong flavours have been known to, shall we say, add a certain je ne sais quoi (va va voom)
  21. Hi, Jac (don't say that too loudly on a plane........ oooooh, the old jokes are the best!) Nice to see you and your good lady at JAE - pity you got rained out - so did quite a few others. (How did the folks go with the tent you lent them?) Superb number plate See you again soon
  22. That's us girls, Bazza :winky: You nasty men (!!) are slugs and snails and puppy dogs tails.............
  23. Warm water, dash of malt vinegar, drop or two of washing up liquid Use any old lint-free cloth Added bonus is if you do it often enough, it will remove the build up of cleaning sprays you've used before!
