  1. apex do i set of springs for the lex which lower your car 25mm you can find them on ebay for about £120 i've had those springs on a few of my cars and had no complaints!!!the only reason i'm not puttin them on the lex is coz i'm droppin mine 40mm and they dont do springs that low!!hope that helps dude!! :winky:
  2. keep the wheel on and just put your hand through the spokes(depending on what wheels are on your car)and just push on the backing plate, that should sort it. :winky:
  3. i'll have a look at my work tomorrow(i work for toyota)but from what i can remember on all the service sheets it just says check and top up if needed if you have a auto and every 40k if you have a manual.
  4. this is were people get confused....mot law says both front side lights must be the same colour so if you came in to my work with your lex and had two blue side lights i cant fail it i can only advise and pass.but if you had one blue and one green then i could fail you.(i'm a mot tester) but the police are spoil sports with any blue light showing on your car and will give you a 21 day ticket or poss a fine if your cocky.just asked the wife(shes a trafic officer)depending on the mood of the officer, being seen with a blue interior light is just as bad as having blue sidelight bulbs or flashing blue strobs and you could get done!!! hope this helps. When I took my car for its last MOT - I had some of the sidelight bulbs that look blue but glow much whiter than normal bulbs and the dealer told me they'd failed the car on those as they're illegal and I needed to replace them. i know its a bit late now but you could have asked were it says in the manual about blue bulbs!!!i've just became a mot tester so the book is still fresh in my mind i even went to my work to check all it says is the side lights must both be the same colour!!!so the boy was just bein picky and prob jealous you own a lexus :winky:
  5. I think you would get even better econemy if you accelerated GENTLY to your speed and then dropped back to fourth! I was finding that if i was trying to speed up slowly it still took more juice ! i've just got 175 miles to half a tank woop woop!!!!!50%town 50%by-pass!!!!!best yet!!
  6. have you try'd halfords??they sell them the worst you might have to do is change the wiring plugs. just a thought.

  10. it is not illegal nor will it fail a mot!!!(i'm a mot tester)when checking the rear lights you just run through them so your fog lights and brake lights are not on at the same time as long as they all work you'll be fine, shhhhhhhh but half the testers i know just make sure the tell tail light on the dash or the switch light comes on!!!! its a cool mod and i will be doing it in the very near future prob on sat! :winky:
  11. lexus sport £305.00 for me and the wife. 3 years no claims 28 years old 3 points and a mechanic for toyota wife 25 and works for the police as a traffic cop. oh and can drive any car with consent.
  12. as a tech for toyota we use 5-30 semi synthetic oils.
  13. as a mot tester myself their is no rule in the vosa book about how bright your lights can be as long as they have the propper beam patteren!!and to be honest you would have to be a right plum to fail some ones lights even if they are a tad bright and blue asked a few of the testers at my work and the worst they'd do is give you advisory!!as your only going to put them back in the car again!!!
  14. it matters slightly as auto's love the gogo juice more than the manuals!! ps mine is manual too!! :winky:
  15. i get about 340 to a full tank(£70) but thats round about town and drivin to work in medium traffic
  16. cheers people thanks for all the help!!! i work for toyota you see but we cant access the lexus parts list so i phoned them and asked but they wouldnt tell me unless i bought them from them!!!!!!!later found out the celica 190's use the same plugs along with some avensis's and corolla's!!!!!!woohoo! 6 plugs for the grand total of £0000
  17. to he honest their is no point in that and your car wil end up sittin low at the front and high at the back.and possibly look very silly give the ones you bought a clean (a good one) put them back on e-bay and sell them, then with the money buy a matching set of springs!!!! B)
  18. does anyone know the part no for the oe spark plugs in the is200????? cheers ormi.
  19. yh sorry get it now, what are my chances of getting another 2 springs or 2 coilvers, majority of suppliers sell them in 4's? or what about just the springs on the front? with 40 mm lowered and leave the back as it is, oh sorry that two suspension systems or is it? any advise welcome Matt when you get the suspension you bought give the rear coilovers a clean as look very dirty take an other photo put them back on e-bay and have a look for a set of springs seen prices starting at 64 +p&p all the way up to 100's!! hope you make your money back!!!! :D good idea mate, seen some decent ones for 130 on ebay, the 64 look unbranded the springs at 64 are made by Racedynamics one of my friends as these on his merc he says they're amazin! he does the odd track day and says the car handles really well even though he just has the springs.

  21. i'm thinking once its lowered it wont be as noticable if you know what i mean? do you have any pics of your car coz i'm droppin mine 40mm too! :winky: P,S cool rides your is looks the amazin really like the stance!!!
  22. i was parked up next to a newer one and the stance seemed a lot better ie same high front and rear it made the car look alot better B) to be honest would like it to be lower and slightly stiffer i use a lot of twisty smooth roads and feel a slight drop and a firming up would do it good?
  23. hello fellow lexus owners, just a quick question i have a 1999 is200 which sits higher at the rear(i know its ment too) just bought a set of 40mm lowering springs :winky: just wondering when i fit them will it bring the car to a even stance or will it still sit with its a.s.s in the air?? cheers ormi
