  1. https://global.toyota/en/newsroom/corporate/39708309.html Scheduled resumption of operations.
  2. Accessory "position" is selected by pressing the power button without pressing the brake pedal. Accessory automatically turns off after 20 minutes to save the 12 volt battery which is smaller than non-hybrid cars because it's not used for starting the engine.
  3. Interesting thanks Paul. All the issues I've had so far are all very minor so I'm still very happy with my choice of car.
  4. Just heard from the Lexus dealer: Destinations can no longer be sent to the car with the introduction of Lexus Link Pro – as the navigation is much better and easier to operate on the touchscreen, and you have Apple CarPlay, that feature has been deemed unnecessary and therefore removed. Regarding the units of measurement, we have noticed that this is the case with our demonstrators but no way of changing it, so we have raised this with Lexus and will let you know what their response is.
  5. PS All the settings are lost by updating the firmware so you have to reenter your car registration number, reenable parking mode, etc.
  6. @Hillie @PaulWhitt20 Problem solved. I used the Nextbase Replay software on my Windows laptop to install the V4.9 firmware update. It does seem on initial testing to provide a much more stable WiFi connection than V4.4.
  7. Thanks for confirming that @Hillie Once having downloaded V4.9, did you have any problems installing it? I think I've followed the instructions precisely including unzipping and copying the FWA380GA.bin file into the root folder of the SD Card but the red light doesn't flash quickly and V4.4 is still shown as the installed version and the WiFi connection is still unstable.
  8. Interestingly the Nextbase.com website still has V4.4 for the 380GWX as the latest version available for download from: https://support.nextbase.com/hc/en-150/articles/360018628818-How-to-update-the-firmware-on-380GW-and-380GWX-Dash-Cam
  9. I wonder if your battery is dead and needs replacing? Although I'd like to, I haven't installed the security screws as I need to take the camera off it's mount to access the USB connection, etc.
  10. @Hillie Found that I have version 4.4 of the firmware so downloaded V4.9, unzipped and copied the .bin file onto the camera's SD card. But after trying various things no rapid flashing red light and it hasn't yet installed the update. Will try again tomorrow.
  11. Thanks Paul that sounds very promising, I'll check the firmware version later today and let you know what I find.
  12. Thanks Paul, I've downloaded your version of the manual which is newer than the one I'd downloaded previously. Will check to see if it helps. In addition to downloading videos WiFi access is required to access the camera's settings which, as you say, I guess I won't need to do once I've got over the novelty of fiddling😊😊 The reason I can't get at the SD card without pulling it off the mount is because it's too close to the interior mirror. I have to press the blue button on mine to get my phone connected but then it drops after a minute or less. Do you find the same with yours? If you see the blue light on yours flashing it indicates a low battery or if it's solid then the battery is charging. Either would indicate you have a battery installed alternatively check under the battery compartment lid. It's useful to have if you want parking mode and your's is installed with a switched power connection. I didn't want a permanently live connection from the car as I thought it could drain the car battery if the car's left standing for sometime.
  13. Hi, I've just bought a new Lexus UX with a Nextbase 380GWX front and rear camera and battery fitted by the dealer. I've enabled parking mode. The problem is that WiFi to either my Android phone or tablet only manages to stay connected for a minute, sometimes less. I've tried resetting the camera and using the camera to format the disc. I've read that turning parking mode off can help, but via WiFi this doesn't seem possible so is it necessary as per page 48 of the manual to remove the SD card? I can only get at the SD card by removing the camera from the car which means either I can't use the security screws or I can't use parking mode. These were among the reasons I thought this camera would be better than the alternatives. I'd be very grateful if anyone can help with this or has any other suggestions to improve the WiFi connection? I've also posted this question on https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/ but haven't yet had any replies.
  14. Thanks all, especially @PDM and @ColinBarber I've emailed my Lexus dealer to see if they can help with the outstanding questions and with a couple of other points. Also thought by noting the point about the volume of the speed camera alert Lexus might address the issue in a software update. @ALAW If Android Auto was wireless like Apple Carplay I'd be tempted to try it but at present I'm enjoying the convenience of wireless charging 😊😊 I know there's a wireless Android Auto gadget you can buy to plug into the USB port but I use that port for a memory stick containing a load of music.
  15. Hi all just wondered if anyone could help with four questions re the sat nav system in the new UX250h Takumi I've just got: Is there a way of increasing the volume of the speed camera alert? Is there any means of improving the recognition of speed limit signs? My previous car wasn't perfect but it did pick up quite a few more sign. In the UK do we get the option to send destinations to the car from either Lexus App or the Lexus owners portal website? Also can the app or website show the 12 volt battery charge? Finally is it possible to get alerts for text messages but not emails on the multimedia system? These are only very minor niggles in a car I'm otherwise very pleased with. Many thanks, Roger
  16. Lexus doesn't fit run flats on the 300e electric UX. They're only fitted on the 250h with 18" wheels. Not sure why but guess it might be something to do with the extra weight of the 300e or extra torque or the noise of runflats might be less acceptable in the electric model.
  17. Thanks for all the helpful feedback everyone. I've now signed up for the service plan.
  18. Hi @Spock66 and @scythe Thanks very much for your quick replies, very helpful. I've been offered a three year service plan covering two A services, one B service and one MoT for 36 x £31 monthly payments = £1,116 which seems a good deal given that costs are likely to escalate over the next three years. The services can be done at any "Authorised Lexus Centre in the UK" and I was told if I sell the car before three years I could stop the monthly payments and get a refund less £25 admin costs for any unused part of the plan. Are there any disadvantages or pitfalls that I should be aware of? Many thanks, Roger
  19. I've been told that the typical cost of the UX250H A (intermediate) service is £300 and the B (full) service is £510. Does anyone know if these figures are about right? Many thanks, Roger
  20. Apologies Colin, you're right, the pre 2022 face-lift model did have white headlining with Ochre seats. The attached is from a photocopy of a June 2021 price list.
  21. I think the light coloured headlining only comes with cream seats. The black headlining isn't so oppressive if you have a sunroof although that does reduce the headroom a little. There are always compromises to contend with.
  22. I hope after the long wait you'll really enjoy your new car.
  23. Mine is at Derby and the dealer says they hope to get it this week. I haven't got the VIN number and the app doesn't show any owned cars and so no mileage is shown. But I haven't yet paid the balance so maybe we're at a slightly different stage in payment/ownership @nivlem ?
  24. @Drr Hi David, thanks. I also got the update on the app saying that mine was on it's way to the dealer. Not sure whether it'll go direct or via Derby. The attached shows the ship in berth 4 conveniently located by the vehicle storage area and over the past few weeks I occasionally checked on the ship as it made it's way from Japan. Seems a long time ago since I ordered mine, even longer for you David. I wonder where we stand with regard to pricing of the new car and trade-in.
  25. 4-5 weeks at sea then 2-3 weeks from Portbury, Bristol to the dealer depending upon whether it goes direct or via Derby. Mine is due at Portbury on 13th July.
