Iv'e just had my ball joints changed and the car now has the same problem.
This never happened before new ball joints. The car used to straighten more than before.
Im wondering if this is the proper feeling of the steering and everything is now tight as it should be or as the above poster say's maybe something is over tightened ?
Well, just got the car back from the garage, the squeaking noise was the back plate expanding with the heat and rubbing against the disc.
The car still feels a bit heavier than before. The steering wheel doesn't spin back to centre when turning.
The mechanic said it was because the new balljoints grease was still thick and would eventually soften up and the steering will get more lighter. Is he talking $hite?
Thanks Nick, no mate, knocking still there :tsktsk: think it may be the shock.
The car just does'nt feel right after getting the balljoints done. There is also a rubbing/sqeaking sound coming from the front near side. Taking the car back Monday, so hopefully get it sorted out.
Thanks for the reply mate. I live too far away from WIM Tony e-mailed me the proper settings and i found a guy in Edinburgh ( 70 miles away )who set the geo to WIM settings, just wondering if i should pay him another visit ?
Hi mate, try turning the key in the boot ( un-locking it ) then try the lever.
Thats for the boot not the bonnet
Aww mate, im sorry, i misread your post, i thought it was your boot as Stav pointed out.
