BRN7Y The 19s on your black beast help the car look very smart. I think the GS is a bit too "old mans car" for that look though... Reckon the GS and LS are "sedate" but the IS and SC are rip-snorting gangsta league motors. The IS because the BMW 3Series has been hijacked by the "wrong element" and the SC430 because, Well you could have bought a used 355 Ferarri but you got a proper car instead! My one beef with Lexus is the quality of finnish of the wheels. I have had many cMy Rangey is over ten years old and yet it's wheels are Immaculate! Why are these british alloys better than the TQM'd Japanese kit? Makes no sense. I mean the Rangy goes of road as much as on. gets cleaned monthy as opposed to more than once a week.... Maybe I have over cleaned the Lex..? Loz

not wishing to state the obvious but, if it IS the gearbox then you could well have fried the overdrive, couldn't you, Mate? Have you checked the levels? Gearboxes are a real pain in the A R S E unless its a long mount engine. (easier to get at...) Bon Chance, Mon Amis Loz

Does anyone know why the seats don't fold down in the Lexus GS300?? I would have though that I can't be the only one who ski's and Snowboards who would like to be able to fit a couple of boards or even skis in the back. I can just get one board in but only a Liquid 155 incher. Do they just assume that we have another car for the practical side of life... Safe assumption in the this case but I would really like to take the Lex to the Alps in Jan/Feb but fear I will have to buy a roof box or resort the even thirstier RangeRover.... Why is this? Another one for you, Rodders!! PLease don't tell me there was a factory option to have folding seats...

of course the best way to get them done is to kindly ask your friendly Lexus dealer to remove them at your next serivce. Something along the lines of, " Er I was wondering how you get the badges off without damageing the car or invalidating the warranty or anything. Could your guys show me how to get them off perhaps?" "I don't want to be any trouble". remember now how the brand wish to maintain this pretence of a "Lexus Experience" well taking the badges off free gratis is a great way to show willing. given that they charge £225 for changing the oil! could be the barings on your air con motor or fan. have u tried listening for it with the fans off? Loz

Dude, Just be thankful that you are not basking in the obscurity of the blue oval!! I have the VVTI version and it don't feel like anything special. its the fact that is able to change gears without driver or passenger feeling a thing! limo-like smoothness. All you really need to know is that the car is bomb proof and brisk with it. Never been in a Mk1, must try one someday... any offers? Loz:flaming::wow:
