  3. Just had both bottom ball joints replaced at lexus recomendation as I was getting a knocking sound over speed bumps and cracks in road. getting annoying so dealt with it swiftly before trip to france. Then found the noise was no better but the steering felt sharper so they were bad. Now I have the Anti Rollboar Bushes and am having them fitted this afternoon so hopefully that will cure it or thats another £40 thrown at the problem.... Loz
  4. Loz may well be open to offers of the 5 figure veriety for his rather lovely GS300. Only cos he is after an LS400 now.... Ok, there I said it. I WANT AN LS 400!!! I'm weak I know it but my fgod they do seem like the dogs danglies!!! I only spent a weekend following one in a clour I would not even choose (but an interior I would be VERY happy with) and then I followed a black metalic one for 70 miles up the M1. I know that I would be happy with a reliable one. quiet and sexy that what they are! THe thing is, there is NOTHING wrong with my GS and I love it. I am even thinking of getting rid of the Range Rover to buy an LS but then I would have a "classic/vintage" LS and a newish GS300. What would be the point?? I tried to rationalise it as a long term test drive but it don't work. Now I have Lexus Bradford wanting to lend me an LS 430 over CHristmas!! Its all a bit barmy but I better go do some work and figure out how to pay for these blummin toys! Loz
  5. Followed an LS400 around most of the weekend and was curious to why there were little chuffs of grey from either or both pipes. I thought it the cold. not concerned but did point it out. guess its just that time of year....
  6. Think I might also have to join the fold of the LS brigade too!! my GS is GORGEOUS!! but the LS is just so damn sexy!! it has well..... EVERYTHING!! LOOKS PACE STYLE COMFORT LEATHER ALL THE TOYS JUST GOTTA GET ONE WITH SAT NAV. My GS does 22-27 mpg combo mainly motorway but on the weekend charging around it gets down. put it like this 340 to a tank motorway vs 270 weekend farting around! LS here we come! Loz
  7. :shruriken: :doggy: :arrrggg-matey: one of these blighters didn't tell me about the blumin susspension that needs sorting! Loz
  8. Hmmmm nice pic!! Have seen her in the times personal services section I'm sure. Holding Some Veg? Oh no, wait a minute..... it was on the front page of the paper, holding her Husband. c'mon, easy mistake to make.....
  9. I heard the Vicar on Radio 4 this morning. What I thought was funny was the way he was apologising but sounding like he couldn't give a french fart about the effect so long as he got the media exposure!! Good lad!! NOT. Also RE: the science argument. *** and Science can co exist. Jesus did after all turn water into wine! funny how no fecker asked or published how! And people wonder why there are those who would poke holes in the manufacturers handbook....
  10. Lock up your daughters!!! Welcome back M8! you been busy?? I know pimpin' ain't easy.... Loz
  11. Dare I ask what the blinking heck is that tape all about?? were you fitting something at the time or what?? it is a tad strange, no? Loz :( :duh:
  12. Deares All, JM and myself, both en famille, did the Champers run this weekend and it was a grand affair! We met at Dover at the crack of Dawn ( lovely girl, Dawn) and took the 6 am ferry. landed and two and half ours later we were in the heart of the Champagne region, Ardennes. After a reccy of a few of the grand houses we went for a great Lunch ( Mussells were deffo the order of the day. Then did a guided tour of the Mumm and Piper Hiedsick Caves in the afternoon. Both different but both good. Mumm was all about how to make it and Piper was all about, well, Piper really! Dinner in the Hotel down in D'Izy followed a quick Reccy of Epernay with the daughters (ladies by this time needed a rest and recoup before dinner). Dinner was great and the whole overnight experience was extremly well priced. Sunday saw the breakfast of champions followed by a tour of the Cramant village, home to about 60 Champers houses. We only took in two but, my goodness, you seriously want to get your laughing gear around the 1998 millisime from Jumel. It's a knockout and priced to put tesco out of business despite the review in the times. Then onto the Mercier House where we had our final tour. This was the buisness. Lifts and Trains with a tour guide to talk us through the founders lifes work. a great experience. so great that I came back with 30 bottles and My girlfirend had another 20. JM managed a fair amount to but one thing is certain: There WILL be another trip. Probably in the Spring/Easter time.... If you have any inclination to experience France/Champagne/Lexus at their finest then this a great way to do it. Be there or be missed. Loz Ps. A great big thank you to JM and Val and Victoria who made the trip a pleasure and kept me from getting lost with there Sat Nav. Kept Sara from getting bored with an in-car DVD, and kept Caroline sober.....NOT!! but two out of three is good enough for me. pps. Got home at 9.52pm, how about you?
  13. At the risk of throwing fuel on a raging inferno... Lexus GB supplied the car to the Allen Partridge Show. Anyone who knows where they are based would be able to tell that from the Reg plate alone. If they think it is a good idea, who are we to judge? Loz
  14. I have the S and am taking it to france at weekend with WIfe and kid. we will all be looking forward tro sleeping in it at some point as we set off at 11pm friday!! just be sure you get one cos they are great. only saloon car I'd trade up to realiscally for the same money is an LS 400 mk4 with the Sat nav as standard and the new front end. fuel aint such a great difference. Loz
  15. TDI, Having read the discription of your car and the neighbourhood your reside in, I'm at a loss to see how you have managed to hang on to your car for so long!!?? :duh: There are bad drivers everywhere of all colours and creeds. Lets not get on a white cross burning in lawns type crusade. Suffice to say that the world would be a better place if everyone took the responsibility of preserving life of themselves and others more seriously. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a sky diving lesson and need to have the Bull Bar on my GS300 painted Body coloured before sundown! Loz
  16. Done 14000 miles in my GS300 since August. On reflection. Very happy. thinking that a leathered up LS 400 or 430 would be best next time round. Anyone got the "REAL" consumption figures on those to? I will be asking Mr Russell on route back from Epernay and Reims, what his LS does but would welcome a wider view... Loz
  17. As a Northern Country Boy I have to concur that the worst manners are to be found in Cities but I would not restrict this to the South UK. I was in Paris last week and a 70+ year old biddy came walloping past me in the Restaurant at the Louvre, and tried to snatch my Hot meal out of the hands of the waitress. If that had been a bloke a bit younger I would have verbaly taken issue with the behaviour but as it was a little old lady I just shrugged it off with a smile to the waitress who seemed totally at home with the behaviour... Not Xenaphobic at all but people everywhere seem to have less and less resepect. World is changing... Its not all bad though.... where would we be with out the Lexus Experience? Loz Maybe thats just a britsh Cueing thing....
  18. Cheers Ifraz, Not that fussed for parting with it but if the market is strong then money must be taken over vanity. The Times is the place to deal in high value plates have an look at the driving section some time and they have plats in there for six figure sums!! see last weeks for start! worth a punt, as they say... Loz
  19. Open to offers on my plate... Serious FOur figure offers only please. *hoping to save £87 that the Times want to put it in Friday and Sunday* Cheers and pm or e mail me if your interested... Loz
  20. I was looking for that plate and then I found this one.... *hoping the link works....* <<<<<<should be on my avatar.... Loz :duh:
  21. Ifraz, unless I am mistaken, your numberplate is the plaural for Lexus, in Alan Partridge Land... DO you, par chance wear Lynx Java Deoderant? Loz *waiting for bomb to drop* Ps. I would not have an IS as the passenger airbag seems a touch trigger happy.... (for details, keep watching the boy partridge..)
  22. THis old Chestnut again!! Me and Mr Russell are going to do a Run to France on the Saturday and Sunday I Believe. 12.45pm outbound crossing from dover to calais 3:30pm return calais to Dover Crossing is £69 for a car with three peeps in it. Will be sorting out hotel soon also. but this is much easier on location so might just wing it! So we have a GS and an LS going. (I might be in the Wifes recent aquired GS430 (with sport pack) so get yer skates on if you have finaly decided that you DO HAVE champers hankerings! Loz

  24. I used to drive the Berlinetta. Heard of the F355 Challenge. Well in those cars it was no challenge. I used to drive a friends on the road when he was drunk enough to let me. Slid the backend for fun. Loved it! Want one but not before I get my Aston Martin. Maybe I get it before the Spyker, but not if it wouls going to slow down the aquisition of my spyker. I'd run the F355 while the spyker was being made under my watchful eye on the internet 24/7. (own private website to see it built. even turns the lights on at night!) Loz
  25. Mat!! You always wind up have the funniest last word!! I was gonna try out the Vectra with the auto box as a potential rental car in emergencies. should I not bother. its just don;t know anyone who rents Lexus out in an emergency.... Loz Ps. if I was going for excess I would also have: F355 Spider Land cruiser Amazon (for gardening waste removal) Can't bring myself to leave the DB7 for a CL600 but its close TVR Cerbera (cos it's the noise we respect the most) I mean, it even has a slot for my golf clubs! but the truth is the orginal list would do me okay for years! Loz
