  1. The research I did, for what it's worth, showed the Mitchelins to be best all round but at a price. Second best, I found, were Goodyear GSD3s at near half the price. I checked the Which? guides and a tyre review web site where users gave their views and how many miles they had done. The site totalled the miles and averaged the ratings so you get a good idea of how good or bad the tyres are. Can't remember the site. I went with GSD3s on the rear and have been very happy so far. 2. The ICE (internal combustion engine) will always run when you start the car from cold in order to get the engine and cat up to working temperature hence you will always get heat for the cabin. What's more, for efficiency, the ICE is heated up as quickly as possible so the warmth starts to come through in a mile or so. The computers and gearbox seamlessly blend any combination of ICE and electric motors (there are two, honest!) to give optimum drive for the conditions your in. You'll never really notice unless you watch the multi function display. Short journeys are inefficient because the engine has to heat up. I travel 6.5 miles to and from work each day on urban roads and get about 30 mpg everall though the last bit of the journey gets higher mpg than the start of the journey Admittedly I'm in a GS not an RX but the technology is the same. 3. I always keep the locking wheelnut box under the boot shelf with the spare wheel which happens to be a space saver hence the need for the plastic bag. Lexus Coventry gave me such a bag when I bought my used GS450h along with two GS450h key fobs in presentation tins and a set of mats and £20 worth of fuel. Nice people at Lexus ;) Malc
  4. Just picked up a new 08/09 Sat Nav DVD for Western Europe off ebay. Looks like the seller is in Greece and had to by the full four disk set in order to get an update for Eastern Europe. They were selling all three disks other than Eastern Europe. Picked it up for £35 inc p&p. Looking at past auctions I should get up to £30 for my 07/08 Western Europe disk so, all in all, very happy :) Malc
  5. Hear, Hear!!!!! I'd quite like put a sign on the retractable rear blind saying "You've been left for dead by a hybrid" :) Malc
  6. Every Samsung phone I've had has been a piece of unreliable junk.....but they do look nice. Depends if you want a piece of jewellery or a communications device I guess ;) The Sony I have now works great with my GS450h but I had two fail on me in the first month of ownership so I'm not overly impressed with Sony either. The only phones I've every had that are reliable have been Nokias. Malc
  7. I go........straight past them! ;) One day I'm going to open a pub called The Gym Malc
  8. Hah!!! Found it! Couldn't actually get my head in a position to see it - had to find it by touch. The pic below was taken with a camera on the floor of the drivers foot-well pointing straight up. I can die happy :)
  9. Ah, is it up under the panel? I've been looking on the outside. Found the program one some time ago. This is fun :) Malc
  10. Go for the 450h - you know you want to! Goes like a rocket sled and gets 30mpg plus! Malc
