  1. I've had enough of rain. When will it stop ? My heart goes out to people who have lost relatives and posessions. I'd just like a few dry days before the year is done to go outside for a bit ! Chris
  2. Hi guys I've just ordered some Bilt Hamber as looks perfect for my needs - I will report back how I get on. My car is a daily runner, so I don't want to go through machine prep just to leave it parked by the runway at Heathrow the next day ! Whitey
  3. Hi there - did this solve your problem ? Chris
  4. Hi It changes the duration of the intermittant wipe - if it's the switch you are referring to !
  5. Just fitted my home made circuit as per instructions, works a treat ! I put a switch in next to the foglight switch to disable the circuit. Thanks to whomever wrote the instructions !
  6. you want this one, plus its in the uk linky Perfect.
  7. Yeah, should do. You will need to get another generice relay to use with it though. DPDT
  8. Hi Pull the open bonnet lever, close the door and lock the car. Go inside to get a spanner, come out and open the bonnet - you will find out how loud it it ! This is how I first heard my alarm and it scared the bejesus out of me ! Chris
  9. Thanks for the comments ! Mike you have a very valid point. I think my journey time has increased more than the actual distance - all the more more joy for having an auto. I also like the way the 300 can waft along on the torque :) Chris
  10. I guess the saying ' you don't know what you've got till its gone ' applies. Once I give it a good old clean and get the auto folding mirrors done, I'm sure I'll be making the most of it ! Chris
  11. Guys With my gf having a property completing next week, my commute to work will treble and the distance between my current place and parents will double. I am now sure whether I should change cars to something 'normal'. I don't want my car to get wrecked with it being parked up in a busy street/commuting etc. Or should I just enjoy the car and take it as it comes . . . Decisions ! Chris
  12. I've just got my IS300 back after 7 days with an 09 IS250MM Auto. I will miss the interior of the new car. But I love the visibility, engine response, steering feel and general 'nippiness' of my IS300. Again, I don't think the two are comparable, they just share the IS in the name. Only thing I want to do to the 300 is to get another set of sway bars, as the new IS250 is superior for body roll/control. If I was only allowed to choose one for life, I'd have the new IS250. But for driving pleasure, I prefer my IS300 :) Chris
  13. It's had two new shocks, but original top mount I believe. I just want my car back for now - might have another go before the warranty runs out Jan next year. Top mount is something I could get done locally or diy in the future, but for now I want it back !
  14. Well rattle remains, Lexus admits defeat graciously. So thats - New caliper Drop links both sides Control arm Ball joint New strut New pads and shim kit both sides We've agreed that it is a car with 60k, so this intermittant rattle isn't worthy of continuing with for now. I'm going to try and get a conditional warranty, that if this rattle rears it's ungly head and something does fail, that I can get it done in the future FOC. Chris
  15. I reckon it'll end up looking like a short 2 door current IS - with a similiar interior ? Not a bad thing though ! Hope they keep the centre exhaust and light style and the WHEELS !
  16. IS350 would be perfect. Bring on the IS450h . . .
  17. I've been driving a loan IS250 MM Auto since Thursday. Done over 200 miles in it a) to make use of it B) it's nice to be in. But you have summed it up perfectly "new cars are a bit detached and produce a less than inspiring driving experience. Most of the cars are dulled by over servoed pedal feel and weightless steering feel" It also 'feels' a bit slower than my IS300, but it is so much more refined. I tend to think that comparing the old and new IS models is like apples and pears. To sum up, I WOULD get an IS250 when the time comes to replace my IS300, but it would have to be fully loaded. Chris
  18. Hi I've got a used car warranty and they have been doing all the work under this. Chris
  19. Guys Firstly, I want to set the tone of this post ! At the moment all is well as the dealer will try everything under warranty to get rid of the rattle I have on the front suspension. So far they have renewed - Shock Control arm Bottom ball joint Both sets of brake pads They are going to try a new caliper. But, if that doesn't work, we have agreed that the noise will become part of the car. What would you do if they can't get rid of the noise and I am left with it 'as part of the car'. I was thinking of asking for all the parts that were changed on the drivers side to be done on the near side, but I doubt they will go for it ! I don't like reneweing suspesion parts on one side normally (for home diy stuff) but I am very please they are willing to give it all a go. Cheers Chris
  20. I got the bits from Bitsbox. My car is at Lexus for the weekend, so won't have a chance to try this. Only on the test bench ! Chris
  21. Hi there I've bought all the bits from the guide came to ~ £10. I'll let you know how I get on ! Chris
