    Wanted Is300

Good luck in your quest to find your ideal IS 300 not an easy task I have just tonight sold my 200 on ebay and that completes the whole upgrade process, meaning it took about 4 months to find the IS300 and sell the 200 but it is a miision that is so well worth it the biggest difference you will notice between the two of them is at night when the white lights flood the surrounding area as they auto level the headlights alone make the upgrade worthwhile. This could soon be you sitting in a 300 looking out at your old 200... Keep us informed of your progress. Regards Russell.
  2. Best £1200.00 I ever spent on my 200 was upgrading it to a 300. Smooth power with loads of torque and all the other toys especially the HIDs. If you like the 200 then you will love the 300. Regards Russell.
  3. Would guess the button turns on the heated mirrors to demist them and the part number on that box is for a rain sensor, so guess that box works the auto wipers function. Regards Russell.
  4. I am disappionted with only 300 to a tank but 200 is terrible unless you do a lot of round town type driving, short jurneys or are heavy footed. mine does 75% motorway and reasonalbly quick round town and i very rearly go under 290 per tank. Regards Russell.
  5. When i had my is200 i was driving down motorway and the little one was sick in the back, my wife undone her seat belt to sort him out and when she undone her belt the cruise control switched off and would not work again until i restarted the engine. Regards Russell.
  6. I cured this on my is300 by flushing the heater matrix couple of hours and full heating returned. See my thread started a week or so for instructions. Regards Russell.
  7. See thread i started recently about heater matrix. Regards Russell.
  8. It may seem like the day will never come when you a waiting for the right car to come along, but belive me it is worth the wait, i used to check the autotrader every day to see what was being sold. You think your search is hard from what i see you want a nice is200 with service history, that should be easy, me i wanted a grey is 300 with sat nav a much rarer beast. but i now own a grey is 300 navigator. A quick tale about service ing my first is200 i bought in haste and then discovered that the engine light kept coming on, the code was linked to the variable valve and a search said dirty oil could cause this problem i changed the oil and it solved the problem but when i looked at the service history there was nothing after 20k and the car had now clocked 110K the oil was that black that i well belive it had been in there all those years and who can guess what other damage it could have done. The car was returned to the dealer and i bought a much nicer example with service history. Regards Russell.
  9. I removed the radio and picked up power ignition and mute from that connector, then just bolted to the chasis for an earth, worked well for me. I have the ck20 but found the best way to run it is mute the radio but use the nokia speaker which i mounted left side passanger footwell. Regards Russell.
  10. Looks real nice, that is soo my favarite colour, took me a long time to find my one which is the same colour. What yours needs to finish it off is the smoked back lights. Regards Russell.
  11. I struggled with what would be best to flush it with as most flushes ask to be run up to temp, however not wanting to put something in that might do damage elsewhere i finally decided on a two part flush from halfords for about £6.50 it said part one half an hour so i left it one whole hour and part two fifteen mins so i left for 30 mins as not heated. Regards Russell.
  12. Yes there are two pipes on the drivers side at the top, i left the rad cap on so not much water escaped, flushed both ways then reconnect pipes and run up to temp with temp on max and rad cap removed, the matrix stays full of water so the only air is in the pipes and i could see this bubling out rad cap. Just one caution the pipes that the rubber ones join are aluminium and part of the matrix so treat them with respect or they could fracture. Regards Russell.
  13. Such a sahme and so anoying that people seem to belive if they did not get seen that they have got away with it, they should face up to there mistakes. Regards Russell.
  14. 215 - 220 I belive mine is 215 standared so almost exact same power just i get 100 miles to the tank more or is that with you driving fairly hard. Regards Russell.
  15. I picked up a 300 a couple of weeks ago and noticed that the heater was not working on the left hand side of the car. I did lots of searches on this other forums and the internet and found this problem had been seen quite a few times before but no real feedback as to the exact nature of the problem, other than one comment about the heater matrix will block the other side to the driver becasue that side has vertical pipes inside. Any way today i removed the rubber hoses from under the bonnet where they join on to the heater matrix and flushed the matrix with a hose i then filled it with radflush left it one hour and flshed again, on both occasions the water ran brown, i flushed both ways ie normal direction of flow and reverse, put the hoses back on bleed the system and i now have heat both sides of the car. This originally looked expensive to fix as i had heard rumor of £300.00 for heater matrix and hours to fit as right up under dash however hopefully mine stays good for another 70K miles and so just cost me about £30.00 in flush and antifreeze. Regards Russell.
  16. Interesting most of my driving is motorway 12 out of 15 miles to work each day and i get about 300 to the tank, i find if i use cruise control as much as posible it is more economicle than my right foot. 200 to a tank would hurt bad, what power is a charged 200 putting out ? Regards Russell.
  17. My Silver 200 was resparayed due to vandels and paint peeled around the washer jets, not a good job. Russell.
  18. looks like the same colour as mine, i already have the spioler on as it was standared fitment on mine, however love your wheels did you fit them yourself and if so what make etc are they. Regards Russell.
  19. I am looking to get a nother key as i only have 1 master left and have followed this thread with interest, I have phoned a few shops in herts area but none of them will cut a supplied by me key stupid excuses like they are to hard and blunt there machines. All have quoted to supply a replacement at btween £160.00 - £230.00 but my local dealer will supply one cut and coded for £150.00 and i know this one will work or back it gos. Regards Russell.
  20. Can anybody suggest a way to modify the child locks on the rear doors so that they are child proof, on the wifes vauxhall they are like a big slot headed screw that the key fits and turns on or off, on my IS300 they are just a switch that you flick by hand unfortunatly so does my 3 year old now he has discovered this is what stops his door opening form the inside. This has made the car very dangerous as my 3 year old appears to be in control of wether the child lock is on or not, however the wifes Corsa costing a third of the price is completly safe. At best i am heading for a damaged door, worse does not bear thinking about. Regards Russell.
  21. As you can see in previous post have managed to upload some photos at last showing both my 200 and 300. not done much to 300 since i bought it other than have the tracking setup as it was scrubbing near side front tyre on the inside. Best regards Russell.
