  1. How is that ball joint changed any idea? Do you need to do the whole wish bone?
  2. Got it from ebay months and months ago. My mechanic convinced me to fit a new flange instead with the hub being used cant trust it.....but im still getting judder so got nothing to lose apart from a flange and bearing that have only done 3000 miles :-(
  3. I am putting my faith in your success Chris, Have a used hub assembly to go on this weekend (provided the bearing is up to scratch) Just annoying for a luxury car to give this vibration :-(
  4. Thanks guys, have ruled all of these out already. Only thing left to try is a new (replacement) hub carrier.
  5. Indeed it is....wish me luck! (again)
  6. No no, thats what I meant. I will be looking out for a used good condition hub carrier unit. Shouldn't be hard to replace right? Top ball joint nut Bottom ball joint nuts Steering Arm Caliper Anything else?
  7. Right then.....500 miles into my new discs and pads the symptoms are back! Judder at high speed (90mph+), judder under braking from high speed and throbbing when braking at low speed! Looking to order a new hub carrier today 🙈
  8. Ah ok thats a shame. Fingers crossed anyway. At least we got to the bottom of the issue at long last :-) Ill keep you posted once I have done a few miles....
  9. All makes perfect sense. I actually hit a serious pothole right before I put new brakes on. When the brakes started to judder I just assumed they were poor quality and didn't think about the pothole at all. I have changed the flange so hoping to God now that the pothole bent the flange and not the hub carrier arm. I would be nervous paying the labour costs to fit a used hub carrier arm - would probably want to put a new bearing in it aswell. Can a nearly new bearing be taken out of one hub and put into a new or is it damaged in the process?
  10. Ah brilliant good for you mate! I have just had the new discs and pads fitted follow the new flange. I don't do much mileage so won't know if its worked for a few weeks maybe months yet haha. I do about 4000 miles a year lol
  11. Chris, how you getting on? How many miles now?
  12. When you say ivory do you mean beige? I'd be interested in a genuine set of beige mats if they are new as you say?
  13. Yes indeed we tested the flange with a run out gauge. It was marginally out, but as you know 1mm in the flange can multiply when transferred to the disc.
  14. Best of luck! The pursuit of perfection continues for all of us!
  15. Oh ok didnt realise they were so cheap! and dare I ask what branded bearing you have fitted previously?
  16. I cant say it will cure your problem, but as I to had exhausted all possible problems with calipers etc I changed the flange and it was a massive improvement even with warped discs still on the car. I bought it from that very supplier. Its not genuine, but did fit fine and I bought a genuine wheel bearing rather than the one he is offering with the flange. He does sell the flange on its own if you want to shop around for your own bearing kit. Good luck!
  17. Try www.retrofitlab.com or www.theretrofitsource.com I have ordered from both very good service and products
  18. I have had the same problem also. I came to the same conclusion as my symptoms started after hitting a pretty bad pothole. Caliper rebuild and 2 sets of discs later, I bought one of these and put a new bearing in at the same time. Ebay Hub/Flange & Bearing Kit My judder decreased to a minimum! Can still feel it as I have yet to renew the discs again. 3rd set of discs going on next month. Hopefully will help you out
  19. Thanks sound advice there. I gotta do my brakes next week so ill have a pull on some of those parts see if I can find some play
  20. Hi Over the past few months I have noticed my steering is feeling increasing 'looser'. I can certainly feel some play down there - for instance if I drive down the road and wobble the steering wheel, the car hardly moves on the road. Also when braking hard and holding the wheel firm with two hands the car will wonder side to side or into any dips or lines in the road. I had the near side steering arm/rod replaced as it was seized and WIM could not apply their settings when I visited. The mechanic that fitted the arm/rod (not at WIM) inspected the offside and said it was fine so I only replaced the seized side. Do you think I should just replace it anyway? Do you think if I replaced the other side steering arm/rod and went to WIM after it might cure the loose feeling? What other items could cause a feeling of play or looseness in the steering? Lower ball joints and wishbone arms have already been replaced both sides. Help and advise appreciated as usual :-) Bill
  21. Common issue. I to had to go fill up with a companion till I replaced the little spring
  22. I also have this creaking. I have replaced the lower ball joints and lower arm rear bushes as you have, the creak is still there. Can hear it pulling up to stop or manouvering or dry steering. Help would be great all?
  23. And if a blow torch doesn't work?
  24. Hi, What size rubber housing caps did you buy? And any chance of a fitted picture please?
