  1. Yeh is a bit OTT isnt it....double your labour charge... Where is this Charlesworth? Can anyone supply a postcode pls? Might be worth the trip.... And where were your parts from at that price?? Cheers
  2. Tech One, Toyota Specialists.....St Johns Parade, Sidcup Kent........will come up on a Yell.com search. They are spot on mate......garage is full of tooled up MR2s, and Lexus alike :-D
  3. Blimey that is cheap considering Japarts want £145 for genuine belt, idler and tensioner! What do people here recommend getting done? Independant Toyota specialist near me quoted £195 for renewal of the belt alone. Id have thought its worth doing the tensioner and idler at the same time? Seen as most of the time these cause probs rather than the belt actually snapping. Ive seen a genuine belt and tensioner on ebay for £75.....and an independant mechanic (timing belt and cylinder head specialist) quoted me £160 to fit. What do we all rekon I do?
  4. Cheers to all for your replies.... A happy bunny once again after utter disappointment yesterday haha. Have a great Easter!
  5. I thought that...but there is a groove on one side and the clip catch on the other meaning they can only fit one way around? Should I attempt to force the power clips together the other way around then?
  6. Hi to all, My HID kit from HIDs-Direct.co.uk arrived the other day and naturally couldnt wait to get round to fitting it yesterday. I connected it all up before installing the bulbs into the headlight or securing the ballasts and it was a good job I did as they dont seem to work :-( Now as BOTH lights are not working I am guessing that I have not been sent faulty goods. My wiring is all fine as my halogen bulbs worked fine when I swapped them back. Now I was wondering having double treble checked that I had the wiring all connected the right way, is there something else really silly that I am missing, or have forgetting to do? I bought the 9006 type at 6000k, thats correct isnt it? Help advice thoughts all welcome? Bill
  7. IS200, 23yrs old, 3 yrs NCB, 3points - £450 fully comp on a multicar policy with my mum - ADMIRAL Multicar dropped my policy £200!!
  8. Hi all, Please see the link below: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=180341075082 Does anyone know if this will be plug & play sat nav for an IS200 Sport that came out of the factory WITHOUT sat nav? Will all the wiring be under my dash? IE can I simply plug this in and have instant Sat Nav? Cheers Bill
  9. Hi to all, Could I please get some feedback/recommendations for these kits? Looking to purchase today... Do's and donts for MOT? Brand(s) to go for? Reliability? Life expectancy? Links to ebay would be great.... Thanks in advance :-) Bill
  10. Nifty little tip there mate....but I still gotta remove the lamp to re-seal it... Cheers
  11. Result....how much did you pay? My IS is Oct 2001 so wouldnt have had a chrome tip on it....if i buy the tip will it still fit on?
  12. Cheers....can someone post a link to removing the headlights pls?
  13. mmmmm....baked headlamp, my fav ;-) Cool cool....I did the same thing on my fiesta headlights...just checking the Lexus lamps are sealed with the same guey stuff so I can just reseal it rather than getting a new lamp costing £100! Cheers
  14. Anyone know if Lexus still supply them? Might go for a universal one....they're only £7, if its rubbish I can give it away.... :-D
  15. Hi all, One of my headlight assemblys is suffering from condensation. The glass is not cracked so can I assume the seal is leaking somewhere? Saving the purchase of a new unit, can I simply heat up the lamp - evaporating the condensation - and then re-seal the assembly with some silicone? Has anyone else tried this? The condensation looks lousy compared to the otherside of the car :-( Cheers Bill
  16. Oh right...best get underneath and check the condition of the exhaust I suppose. Is it worth going for one of these universal things "99% fit".....? Or they just a load of tack?
  17. Hi, I called my local dealer (sidcup) for a set of mats....again they said they have been discontinued... However, he did search the stock of all parts depts in the country and sourced a set for me. Got lucky and found me a set in Sheffield which conveniently is where my Dad works. My Dad managed to negotiate a 20% discount on the basis that they are discontinued stock and ended up paying a nicely rounded £60 for a brand new set of genuine Lexus mats :-D Dont ask, dont get Bill
  18. Hi all, Collected my 2001 IS200 Sport on Friday....Having owned a Fiesta ZetecS for 6 years (a-hem), I am naturally very pleased!! One initial question....I was told the sport came with a chrome exhaust tip? If so mine seems to be missing...any ideas where I can get one as all I can find on ebay are universal after market thingys - ta. Thanking you :-D Bill
  19. Hi all, Have been following this thread as I have the same problem (0171 - running lean bank 1 and cylinders 1,2&3 misfiring) Any conclusions at all?
