  1. That is very true, last time I was in edinburgh I was in a Merc LWB Sprinter, now that was fun LOL Thats cool, thanks for that info, just been pricing up coilovers, and having a look at alloys.
  2. Ive had my doubts about it being an SE, logbook says it is, but everything about the car says its not, its definately got 16" ones on at the moment, and the spare was a 16" alloy
  3. Ormi - do you have problems getting over speed bumps etc, looking at doing the same to mine, but where I live is speed bump heaven plus got a bit of a ramp to get up onto drive and partners BMW struggles Nice alloys btw (which ones are they?)
  4. Hi, Ive tried to avoid starting yet another topic on Alloy wheels but after spending the past 2 hours searching on here im still in the dark. Now Christmas is over im wanting to change my alloy wheels, at the moment I have the Standard 16" ones on (a little boring), the car has not been lowered and as far as I am aware not had anything done to it. My question is..... What is the maximum size alloy I can put on, also I cant find anywhere the offset etc for them... I had been looking at either 17" or 18" so any help would be greatly appriciated (save me pulling any more hair out!!!) Cheers, Stace
  5. Thats when mine started playing up, got a relay for £10 from scrap yard, but didnt need it in the end, got the old one in and ot works fine after the connectors in the footwell were pressed back in
  6. Ive just had this problem, the drivers footwell was dry etc, the relay was buzzing until it got taken out. All we did was push in all the connectors in the footwell and its solved the problem, it was just a loose wire
  7. I've got a car seat intheback of mine, got it from halfords a few year ago though but it fits fine and safe. I do believeyou can still buy them. If I can find a link il post it.
  8. I'm in need of a light control relay for 2001 Is200. Part numbers are; 85916-30060 056800-2280 Denso 12v if anyones got one lying around please let me know as I don't fancy paying 70quid for one cheers Stace
  9. If I still have my IS200 I shall be making my first trip to JAE
  10. Thanks, doing some reading up on the forum and the must-dos seem to be 1. Put some heavy weight in the boot (e.g. bags of sand) 2. Lower rear tyre pressures Also read: - turn off traction control - not sure how this would help - use snow button - although it's debatable how useful this is Been driving with traction control on for a week, partners got sick of the car fish-tailing when cars are next to him so decided to turn it off as his BMW doesnt have traction control. Found that the IS 200 handles loads better - rather than one wheel spinning and making the car fishtail the wheels still spin but keeps the car in a straight line.
  11. Cheeky.... Not a chance in hell Yeah Im with you on that, im sure whe'll be all over youtube etc :shutit:
  12. Found this link on another forum and thought Id share it with you lot... It is girls like this that give women a bad name.... Epic Fall
  13. Thanks for the reply, hhmmm partner has decided that seen as this is the second one he has had to change he is going to 'treat' himself to a hydraulic press, as between his family and mine we have about 15 cars/vans... He's going to have a better look in the daylight tomorrow before anything gets purchased. Need a new alloy too tho :-(
  14. Hi, had a bit of snow and ice last night and unfortunately my partner took us round the corner sideways and into a rather large curb.... Damage... dented and cracked alloy, tyre disformed and also sounds like the wheel barings have gone. Not had the Lex long so my question is... Is it easy to change the baring? Partner repairs most vehicles so is going to attempt to do this one. Cheers, Stacey
  15. When I was 18 I have NO credit rating as I had never had credit, I was advised to get a credit card and put a tiny bit on it and pay it off every month, barclaycard offered me a card straight away, and because the interest was at a stupidly high rate like 39% there was no risk I wouldnt pay it off so I used the card for fuel for a start then paid the card off every month. It does help, but you need to be able to trust yourself not to keep spending on it.
  16. Hi, sorry to hear that. If you register on Creditexpert.co.uk (1st months free) it gives you your credit rating but also ways to improve your rating. Hope this helps Stace
  17. Hello, the lex is a nice car to drive.... not so sure when its a bit icy tho

  19. Ouch.... on my way back from London a few months ago I saw a Lambo in the central reservation.... he didnt look amused
