  1. Install an oil catch can. It's perfectly normal for oil to be in there though. It's where the PCV vents to
  2. It could have an aftermarket LSD in it. Could you tell if it was a torsen or plate lsd in there when you looked?
  3. http://au.lexusownersclub.com is another forum worth checking out.
  4. ES300 pads are the same. Can't remember the part number but there is a thread on here with it if you search
  5. There's a solenoid that operates valve the air is feed from the back of the throttle body. Just blank off where the hose connects. It doesn't effect the engines vacuum. As I said if you have a look you'll see how it works
  6. It doesn't let the air past the filter, that would be pointless. Just more air before the filter. If you have an RS200 then you'll see how it works

    Altezza

You'll need something like a HKS or Greddy speed cut defender. You should be able to pic one up from your local importer/retailer or else there's plenty of online shops that will send direct from Japan like RHD, JPS & Nengun. If it's just a seal kit you need for the pump then you could most probably source one through you local dealer http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_199904_TOYOTA_ALTEZZA_SXE10-AEFVF_4502.2.html?hl=04446 Any P/S specialist ot mechanic should be able to do the job for you from there.
  8. It would seem so. One guy on the Altezza club did a little test & he reckoned having the flap open all the time increased the mpg a fraction but it's a price I'm willing to pay for a bit of induction noise :winky: http://www.youtube.com/user/Altezzaeve#p/u/19/AO6dCIFC3_A
  9. Nope, Altezza's don't run a transponder key so will start without it present. A decent lock smith should be able to cut you a new key by dissembling & reading your ignition barrel if you don't find them.
  10. The flap should open at about 4500rpm to let more air in. If you disconnect the vacuum tube it will stay open all the time giving you a bit more induction noise at lower rpm. It's basically a noise suppressor from what I can gather. I have mine disconnected.
  11. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Scosche-LS2075B-2001-Up-Lexus-IS300-Installation-Kit-/230150375124?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35960806d4
  12. If you get an IS without seat heaters then the genuine JDM facia you want is PN# 55413-53010 It's has a space for the TRC button only. The best aftermarket one I've come across is made by Scosche. You'll find them on eBay (the look nothing like the pic on there, see pic below)
  13. Resetting the ECU is a bit of a myth. The ECU has the ability to adapt to the new filter. All resetting the ECU will do is make the car run a little rough for a bit while it relearns everything.
  14. The gauge should only get to half way before the fans come on. Did you check the wiring & plug to the fan switch/temp sensor yet? That would be the first place I'd look if they're not coming on. You could also see if the fan motors are still working by running 12v directly to them. http://bitcrusher.org/3S-GE_Wiring_Diagram.pdf
  15. Trim parts from a RHD IS200 sport will fit Try prolex or fensport for the HKS exhaust
  16. I think you mean DOT 4? Thats the standard brake fluid these days. If you're going to be seeing an track time you may as well put something decent in there like Motul but if not 500ml of an old DOT 4 will do.
  17. Greddy ones will clear the 1GFE. http://z4.invisionfree.com/lexusaltezzaclub/index.php?showtopic=9557&hl=
  18. It will be your dual mass flywheel that's causing the judder I would say. Try rising the revs a little when you take off, that should help stop it. As long as the clutch isn't slipping then I would worry about it to much. This should give you an idea of parts cost, beer in mind you'll need to replace the flywheel as well. Wouldn't be the easiest of DIY jobs unless you have access to a hoist. http://www.fensport...._63/Category_3/
  19. You obviously haven't heard too many 4cyl Altezza's with sports exhausts. They can sound quiet nasty with the wrong one. They need as much muffling as possible. My Kakimoto Racing system has 4 mufflers in total (although one may be a cat). The twin loop set up of the HKS is by far the best option for the 3SGE.
  20. Sounds like your car has had a few mods in the land of the rising sun. Could have a low temp thermostat in it? Check the temp sensor is plugged in. You'll find it in the top of the thermostat housing. Could be something as simple as an air bubble trapped behind the thermostat but that would generally cause it to overheat & if the thermostat had failed they generally fail open so the car would be running cold all the time. Is the car still running the factory ECU?
  21. I listed the part numbers in my previous post, that should be all your dingbro boy will need. You should be able to get the Denso plugs through your local Toyota/Lexus dealer as well. NGK & Denso are the only brands you should run in these engines. You could always try eBay if all else fails http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item3c9d2ce583 http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item4ceaa86c33
  22. Some Iridium plugs will definitely help especially at higher rpm. NGK BKR6EIX11 or Denso SK20R11 are your best options.
  23. Haha what made you buy one of those? Pretty cool car I must say. Get some pics up. TopSecret used the engine out of one in it's Supra plus they added a couple of turbos to make somewhere between 600-1000hp. Either way it's enough to propel the car to 222mph. http://speedhunters....-supra-v12.aspx
  24. This should be of some help to you http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/q.html
