  1. Not sure on what N means. Faulty gauge or valve possibly. You should try 35psi. WIM recommend it. I found it makes a bit of difference to the way the car feels on the road as well as helping with tyre wear.
  2. You can't. The Japanese use a different system to everyone else. Just put an aftermarket unit in your dash where the factory screen sits, like this
  3. Toyotas have one of the easiest central locking systems to integrate into an aftermarket alarm. Some vehicles require an interface between the factory central locking & alarm. Maybe that's what your cobra needs? I'm running a AVS in mine & it works fine.
  4. Flashing TRC light normally indicates a faulty ABS/wheel speed sensor. Could be something as simple as one has come unplugged or the connection is dirty or at worst it needs replacing. Best see if you can get a fault code out of it first.
  5. If you go into your user control panel, then under "general settings" you will be able to change the time to your local time zone
  6. Go with 215/40 like has already been recommended. 35 series is to low & will make the overall diameter of the tyre smaller than the OE spec.
  7. A simple google would have answered your question http://wwp.greenwich...europe/uk/time/
  8. Changing the trans oil to some quality synthetic stuff like redline or amsoil will help reduce the thud. Mine used to do it regularly but after putting Redline MT-90 in the trans it only does it on the very odd occasion now. I'm also running some fully synthetic Castrol 80w140 in the diff. That mainly only helped improve the LSD operation & made it quieter though.
  9. Looks like the IS200 only has the one intake so no need for a flap. I wonder if we'd gain anything by blocking off the intake to the guard on the RS200? 3SGE
  10. You should swap them around until you need new tyres at least. 225 on the rear will be fine but I suspect it would be upsetting the handling having them on the front?
  11. Pretty common issue with the manuals. Mine does it but more so in winter. Try some graphite powered around the fork & slave cylinder as that's the area where the noise comes from.
  12. I'd run with an Apexi, TRD or K&N panel. Most of the foam ones don't filter that well. In saying that I'm running a TOM'S filter in mine & it's a multi layered foam type but that's only because it was about half the price of a K&N at the time & I'm a bit of a TOM'S whore. Have a read of this performance air filter test http://www.mkiv.com/...filters_test/2/ & http://www.mkiv.com/...filters_test/1/ This is the valve you need to disconnect the vacuum hose from to keep the flap open. I left the solenoid & lines in place just in case I wanted to revert it back to standard for about a year then last time I was cleaning the MAF sensor & air box I pulled it all out to tidy it up.
  13. I wouldn't waste your time putting it on to be honest. You'll gain a few hp & a bit of noise up top end but you'll also lose power at lower revs. Stick with a high flow panel filter & disconnect the flap in the front air scoop so it's sucking air from there all the time. It's usually closed below 4500rpm to suppress intake noise. To put an Apexi pod on you'll need an adapter like this, which only come in a kit with the filter as far as I'm aware. (Apexi make the best pod kits IMO & seem to give the least trouble)
  14. Race friendly & 1GFE don't go together in the same sentence :P Like griderjn said, you'd be better off buying a RS200 if you want to race. If you're still keen on a manual conversion you'll need to get the bits from an AS200 as the bell housings are different between the 1GFE & 3SGE.
  15. Yes they all use the same J160 box but the bell housings are different between the 1G & 3S. Probably easier to get an Altezza front cut or buy an Altezza out right & turbo that. The 3SGTE is quiet a different best to the Beams 3SGE. You can't even slap 3SGTE pistons in a 3SGE. The beast fit are from a 2JZGTE VVTi but even then they have to be machined to fit. There's some good reading HERE on the subject
  16. You've got 3 bushes on the rack. The main D bush (45517) & 2 smaller round ones (45516). TRD do them if you want uprated ones. Could be your lower ball joints making the noise if it's not the rack ends.
  17. Could be the TPS on the side of the throttle body. Supposedly they give trouble but there's not much about it on any altezza forums that I can find. Guess you could also check the coils, they do fail if the plugs haven't been changed at the recommended intervals. Some Iridium plugs wouldn't hurt either. NKG BKR6EIX11 or Denso IK20 are the ones to go for.
  18. Sticking/seized callipers seem to be a common issue in the UK. Whys that? Is it because of salting the roads in winter? I've never heard of anyone having this problem over here or Aussie. Also have you had your wheels balanced recently? Brakes will normally only cause juddering when braking. Under acceleration is normally wheel balance. This could be from something as simple as a weight falling off, worn tyres or the rim being damaged i.e. out of round.

  20. Here's some good offset guides: http://my.is/forums/f95/offset-wheel-width...delines-242830/ http://z4.invisionfree.com/lexusaltezzaclu...?showtopic=4691 All depends on how aggressive you want your wheels to look but 18x7.5 +40 would be a safe bet all round. (OE are 17x7 +50) Here's some more pics http://z4.invisionfree.com/lexusaltezzaclu...?showtopic=4920
  21. Shortened struts with lowered spring is another way to get a 50-60mm drop. KYB do them in the JDM market to suit Altezza's. You can also get Koni with different rings to mount the spring seat in. Failing that any suspension specialist should be able to modify/shorten some struts for you. I think TEIN springs will give you the biggest drop to.
  22. Not sure how things work over there but here you would expect the dealer/importer to fix any issues like this for you as they've sold you a vehicle in a state that isn't road worthy/up to a MOT standard. You shouldn't have to claim on your warranty. You'll find this site pretty handy for looking up parts for your Altezza www.toyoDIY.com Looks like there is a seal kit available, Part Number# 04455 53010 http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_199904_TO...AEFVF_4505.html
