  1. would be nice kam - but if bp goes tits up and bought out its just gonna make the other suppliers monopolise the price upwards i think - everyone will say its cos of the oil spill etc but in reality that is all underwritten so we will all be paying for that in pensions and inflation so shouldnt really have to pay twice at the pump as well , but we will no doubt
  2. whichever way you work it the price is at least falling for the moment - how low it goes before the inevitable rise is anyones guess
  3. yes mate loads of people - the prices and opinions stated above are quite accurate
  4. tigerfish has done some excellen walkthroughs that might help here
  5. member jayson2223 had similar problems - turned out to be one failed coilpack and six rubbish sparkplugs
  6. i would echo these sentiments
  7. sounds like a bargain tbh - good u got away with original material too or it would of always been in your mind that the new leather wasnt a perfect match in my experience
  8. done that before-used to use a retrimmers in london who were good, sounds like you were lucky, what did they charge you out of interest ?
  9. aaah a bit too far away mate - i know where theres a few near me on breakers
  10. yes mate & good luck - to give you an idea of what my ones did - eml light and trc light came on about 8-30am,phoned them at 9 they said run it straight in,diagnosed one faulty coilpack for free, ordered part for 2pm and said ok to drive car in meantime for short journeys as no loan car was available at short notice, rang me at 2pm and said parts were in.went there and they fitted the coilpack for free too - all i paid was the £108 + vat for the coilpack !! expensive part tbh but service is second to none
  11. Oh sorry mate. i know you wanted it fixed asap - also had hoped your lex might not charge-guess lexus brighton must be extra nice cos i rang them as soon as eml light came on and they said bring it straight over for a diagnose at no charge - youd better ask them if they waive that fee if you have the car fixed by them and make sure they dont do any work without your approval - at least they know these cars inside out as they are old hat to them now and dont suffer too many mysteries
  12. the manual i bought off ebay was a rip off as it just contained a link to the mentioned above site - no internet = no manual ! i already had the link for free from here - as far as im aware the bahatma manual is the one and only tool around and its free ! - btw i never had a problem accessing it before but last three days since i read this post and tried to post a link up it wont work for me at all ! im using vista - never had a problem before,,,it just comes up as page not found EDIT - Just tried the link from tony goose above and worked first time - maybe the one i have bookmarked from ages ago is out of date, will update my bookmarks accordingly
  13. aaah that does clarify your theory a lot bf03 However i think ( and im just guessing) that woosey has more then one igniter at fault on this one as he said the car conked out completely - also i think he has a new thread started with loads of new codes being generated as well as these original ones after having everything cleared - it would seem he has some kind of electrical gremlin working overtime unfortunately - i think hes talking to lexus tomorrow about it but obviously would love to avoid expenses etc and have it working properly - wheres ormi or stav when you need em ?
  14. good link rory - interesting read
  15. deckx whereabouts are you ?
  16. woosey did you get the codes reread then ? what happened to the original set ? are they still there plus this new lot ? if so you certainly have an odd problem - hope lexus sort you out ok,post up the outcome please for future members reference
  17. thanks for clearing that up parthibian- i wouldnt either but will be interesting to see what it makes as im going to let mine go soon which isnt on the register
  18. i get confused-whats the difference between cat c and cat d ?
  19. interesting links - i had brake fluid disappearing once and being burnt off in the engine on an old rover sd1 years ago ! all i can say is the smoke was very very white and very very noticable
  20. only advice i could offer would be to pick up a cheap set of wheels and have winter tyres put on them for when the snow comes as apparently they make progress possible - or buy a 4x4 like me in the winter - your main summer tyres im sure plenty of people will chip in with their various experiences of tyre choice - welcome to the club
  21. when in doubt go main dealer mate - try ringing them and ask if they will diagnose for free - you might be surprised how helpful they are
  22. obd2 reader HERE - check it out first to make sure it will work with your car but something similar to this would do the job - dont buy on my say so,do the research for yourself in case ive linked a product that wouldnt work
