  1. lookin good lex - i take it you are happy with em,aint they a nice bit of kit for the money - well done mate - i guess youll be after sideskirts next ???
  2. Could still be balancing or a tyre with a carbunkle or just gone misshaped - different places and machines do find different problems
  3. Oh well done - what wheels are goin on ? gonna be hard to beat aeros no ?
  4. Thats really nice of you mars - have you got your new one on already and the car resprayed yet ? post some pics if its all done
  5. i know member MARS just got a blue one and spoiler from there mate - might be worth asking him if there were any more blue ones there or buy his old one if its better then yours
  6. i think the op means the squeel you get on full lock sometimes from the hub flangey bit ??
  7. Its done on the head unit with the same buttons you use to change cd tracks - or the ipod if its to hand and not in the glovebox
  8. i used meguirs scratch remover on mine cos i had some already - was horrible and rusty but came up a treat with a bit of work - autosol should be good as well
  9. link to PARTS - not sure what this place would charge , maybe a similar price tbh as your £300 doesnt sound tooo expensive to me
  10. satnav sstandalone systems i have no info on as wasnt going to go that far - would nessecitate a touchscreen for obvious reasons and a satnav module tucked away somewhere - dvd player unit would ideally mount in glovebox for ease of changing dvds -grom behind stereo - i dont think youll be able to hook up ipod at same time without unplugging connecters - if you dont have satnav would be cheaper and easier - freeview tv module in boot and two aeriels in rear window - your gonna need a fair large selection of good quality rca leads etc to connect it all up - these can be made to length required pretty easy to keep costs down
  11. i dont think that warning light would fail an mot unless your actual headlamp beam was off kilter also
  12. grom plugs in the back of your existing stereo and acts as a source for sound so you just press cd twice to switch to tv/dvd audio input to get the sound through your car stereo - they do a few different types so dont buy in haste - ps they seem to have got cheaper as well - pound must be recovering GROM EXAMPLES
  13. no sweat but bear in mind i never did it just thouight about it - heres a place to get ideas of kit needed ie-monitors etc(screens) have a trawl thru and see what suits you then try and find the spec you need cheaper if possible SCREENS
  14. something like THIS as an example but you might want to get a touchscreen one which would be more up to date - this was one i found as an example only, just the kind of thing to look for - tbh you can get screens like this for £40 upwards brand new-ill try and dig out some of my old info and post up a few links to cheap bits when i get a chance - the stuff you want wont be specific to a lexus its all just plug and play with each other via inputs and outputs etc -
  15. I think you are right stav - when i looked into it it didnt really help much either but did give it dsome thought as couldnt find a screen at the time so was an option but in reality was one more bit of kit which made things more complicated tbh - best off with a screen designed for purpose i decided - ian put a wanted ad up for a grom as they do come round sometimes on here and i think youll need one eventually unless stav knows a better way to hook up the audio side
  16. oops forgot to say --- i was told those screens can be used with an RF converter or similar for tv/dvd playback
  17. well done mate good buy - start looking for one of these type affairs also if you are doing what i think - not suggesting this seller or make but stick to a well known brand ie kenwood/alpine - when i was looking i could of got a few 2nd hand ones for about £80 - go for twin aeriel diversity boxes for best results - the input and output connections on a unit like this will help you connect it all up in the end ..................... again double treble check any advice i give before spending money in case im wrong somewhere
  18. sent pm - re search my post spares galore to locate plenty of bits if you are willing to travel
  19. i paid £850 in lexus for all the above plus sparkplugs, coolant bypass hose, brake fluid, air filter pollen filter, coolant etc etc - independants in my area were quoting as much or more for the same job - one even tried to charge £200 for a pattern part waterpump in the price - might be as you say a bit too late to argue the toss now though - at least you should have piece of mind and a reliable car for the foreseeable
  20. d6ngr if you are serious about doing this i would get a quote on insurance to cover a car with such mods on it - you did say before you couldnt afford to insure an is300 and i think that would be much much cheaper to insure - you need to factor in insurance to any budget as if you and whichever garage you choose put time effort and money into a car you need it covered properly in case it goes walkies or similar
  21. transporter could be absolutely correct as it is his field of expertise - my opinion was that there was a slight difference on the lex very slightly with ac on - also my friend has a wr1 and that is a 2 litre and it noticeably affects acceleration on low load or normal driving conditions
  22. no problems - dont abandon the idea on my say so though i could be wrong
  23. lol, just declare it sorn and start it and let it idle for ten minutes once a week-should be ok
  24. i think it will be more complex then just the switch tbh fipsy as there must be a control unit on the drivers window as well as a pressure sensor if for example the window shuts on a hand etc to avoid accidents - pure guesswork tho
