  1. Would anyone know of any breakers breaking an LE model (2004) I am looking for a few panels and dont really fancy putting the car through the spray painters, its my last choice to do this but would prefer to find panels from breakers as i think the colour would match better and it would be less of a hassle in losing the car for a week or so. Paint code is 1D2 Any help appreciated thanks
  2. Prices for the coil packs seem excessive (unless that price was quoted by a Lexus dealership) - i replaced 3 of mine in March this year and got these from Ebay - new ones but not original and they have been fine. I paid £30 each for these and looking at Ebay now then there are a lot around the £30 to £40 mark. Plugs i done myself also and purchased NGK Iridium ones at £35 for the 6. Both plugs and coil packs are simple to change yourself Takes around half an hour to do all 6 - you would need to take the coil packs off to change the plugs anyway so its a worthwhile job to do yourself -
  3. I am interested in buying a fault code reader (OBD unit) - i havent used one before and there's nothing wrong with the car. I am just curious as to any faults it may have had and think it will come in usefull in the future. I have seen a lot on ebay but are there any particular ones that are recomended for these cars (is200) and are they universal ? (to fit most cars) Also - where is the plug slot located for these machines - is it below the steering wheel thanks
  4. I dont really know a lot about the conversion from the OEM intake to one like has been fitted in this thread but what is the actual benefit fo fitting one of these - i have seen K&N intakes etc and always sat on the fence not knowing should i go for a swap out of the OEM to a kit or like on this thread make my own . Does anyone know the benefit of doing so - thanks
  5. I have read previous posts back in 2010 regarding Pilkington windscreens and how they are (or were) a misfit and leaked - 2 years on is this still the case? I have just had one fitted, Pilkington glass, and i have already found flaws in the actual glass when driving it home first day it was fitted which leads me to believe that the quality is not up to much. Bubble in the glass and what i can only describe as a warp in the glass also - i would have put up with it if it was on the passenger side but it's directly in drivers line of sight. Has anyone had any recent issues with leaks on these?
  6. Only one !!! Which was why Lexus was my last option but i need one, hey ho ...... i need to find the petrol now to drive to collect this from the dealer !
  7. £4.52 from Lexus - one on order
  8. Thanks Beni Ideal for this weather but not winter !!
  9. I had this exact fault diagnosed on an Astra - it was the fuel sender unit - was replaced and it sorted the problem out. Only cost me £25 but that was a Vauxhall !
  10. I dont know if this is the correct forum to place this - as i am not selling then i dont think there will be a problem?? I have a set of rear seats in my garage that i want to get rid of - along with 2 out of the 3 headrests (3rd rest is available but the seam on the leather will need stitching (not a tear or rip - just the stitching will need re-doing) Seats are only the rear ones (no fronts) - full leather - color is tan Just looking for the space so am offerring them to a good home free of charge but you will need to collect from North Wales. First come first served .....
  11. Hi Royt Thats what i thought - only a bit of "springy wire" that cant be that expensive - i can only find these from the states - Lexus UK is now my last choice but depending on the price i might import one ! I will be emquiring tonight. Cheers
  12. VERY NICE !! Dont think the neighbours would be happy though - will test them out now with the sound on max on the computer
  13. I am thinking of buying a small boat - i have an auto box on my is200 (2004) Might sound like a bit of a daft question but with it being an auto will it be capable of towing something like this - will i be putting quite a bit of pressure on the box itself? thanks
  14. Can anyone help me out with this one - i am looking for a pad spring - a "V" shaped wire that keeps the pads away from the disc when not in use (spring slots into each disc) - i can only get these from a scrap dealer and they want me to buy the whole calliper even though they are not part of the caliper itself... I am only looking for one and wondering if anyone had one spare Cheers
  15. This is on ebay at the moment - do a search on the number below 170806736291
  16. Are the non OEM packs any good? Just had a price for a Lexus one, from Lexus at £160.68p + VAT - that makes 6 of them at a cost of over £1100 Jeeeeez - you can buy another car for that?! But anyway - are the ebay £35 non OEM ones any good?
  17. I have used Castrol LM grease - good up to 120 degree's from Halfords (about £6 per tub) - as the comments below - as long as your seals are intact then there wont be a problem. I happenned to check mine at the weekend after replacing the pins last year and there's no pitting / discoloration of the grease and pins are still moving.
  18. Just a thought but would the coils cause this - they can do when it's damp outside when one or a few are on their way out?
  19. Japarts sell these at £30 each (plus postage) have used them before with no issues
  20. Thanks Billyo How did you manage to find out which one was at fault? - I might get them all done but think i will replace them over the next few months due to the cost - at £30 each they are quite expensive for what they are but i suppose without them or with them not operating correctly the car is not running properly, its only a bit hard to start in the damp at the moment but i am expecting it may get worse. Have read that dicky ones can also cause the car to use more fuel than normal as well so it may well be worth replacing all in the long run?
  21. Would anyone know if the coil packs have a "shelf life" as such - do they need replacing after certain mileages. have had a few mornings where its been a bit damp where the car has struggled a bit to start and i am sure its the coils. Car is just under 100k and i am pretty sure they have not been replaced. Pretty expensive parts x 6 as well !
  22. Thanks guys - just lining up the jobs for when it's warmer outside. has anyone actually changed the oil in on of these box's - anyone know where the drain / filler and filters would be located?
  23. Can anyone advise me with this I have an auto box on a 2004 is200. There is nothing wrong with it so i would tend to leave it alone but is anyone aware if the oil does need to be changed after ?? miles. Its currently on 92k and i am not aware it has been changed. Would changing it make that much of a difference if there's no issues at the moment? thanks
