  1. Finally got round to fitting my set of mud flaps yesterday, job went well, backs seem to fit 100% ,fronts don't seem as tight to the bodywork ,and that was after lots of adjustment (or maybe i'm just a fussy bas*ard). Anyway... after fitting the rears, i decided to remove the plastic trim at the front lower edge of the rear arch, this is held in by 3 ,10mm bolts and found it full of road muck, could be a future water/rust trap :o . I had a can of waxoil in the shed ,so i cleaned the area and gave it a good spray ....job sorted :) .
  2. Good to see most of you guys share my views :D , as Martin W said ,brake dust would be a major problem ;) . The wheels could look ok on a yellow Altezza, followed by a full yellow leather seat retrim, job sorted :winky: .
  3. This has to be a joke....yes . I posted up a set of gold wheels the other week, with a mixed response from you guys ,so what do you think of yellow then :yack: :yack: . http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...&category=28648
  4. Hi Kristor, I was looking at buying a Soarer about 8 months ago, the 3.0lt although the unloved of the 3 models, was the one i was most interested in. Why you ask ..... if you love the shape of the Soarer and not that fussed with performance or gadgets, the 3.0 is the one for you. Performance i'm told is about 7.5 sec to 60 so not that bad,and the running costs ( fuel ) should be better than the 2.5tt or V8, the engine is from the supra family so you should be able to get service parts off the shelf. I got a few insurance quotes but there was no or little difference between the 3.0 or 4.0 models. What put me off in the end was the running costs of a car that now over ten yeas old, alot of items are expensive to source for the soarer , so weather you need the dash display repaired or new front suspension bushes, your going to have to dig deep into you pockets, if you've fallen in love with the shape of the car then maybe you can live with the costs ,the choice is yours :D .
  5. There does seem to be an endless supply of IS200 wheels on Ebay, either singles or sets, where do they all come from ;) , don't tell me all the owners went up to 18" or 19" rims :) .
  6. Out of interest, has any member ever done a carbon fibre inlay on their wheels? i seem to remember Momo doing a similar thing on one of it 5 spoke alloys.
  7. I must say, i thought a bit scoobyWRX in your face :D .
  8. Hmmm, spotted these the other day, i have gold badges on my car and thought, could look great or could look crap.....what do you say ?. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...&category=28648
  9. Welcome to the club, Enjoy you new motor :D it will be reliable just like your old Toyota's ,but better screwed together :winky: .
  10. No snow in Kent today, but this photo from a few weeks back was another story ;) .
  11. Paul, call me a "cunning old dog", but could you not keep quiet from Lexus GB and take out a Lexus used car warranty at a cost of ( i think ) £450.00, leave it a few weeks and get it fixed using a diffrerent dealer :D . Morally wrong maybe, but cheaper on you pocket :winky: .
  12. Welcome to the club :D , would make sence to get the belt changed ( one less thing to worry about ). As you have found out ,you can get some good deals from other brands of franchise dealers, i bought mine from an independent and saved about 1.5K :D . Enjoy you new motor B) .
  13. Hi all, A question for you guys that get your cars serviced by Lexus main dealers, can you please take a look at you invoices and let me know what grade of oil they use, it could be 10/30 or 15/30 or even 15/40. I only ask as now my car's out of warrenty, i'll be doing all of the service work , cheers :D .
  14. I've painted my brake hubs in light grey, and plan to do the calipers in gold ,as soon as the weather gets better :) , not sure about the colour of stickers , maybe black would look good on gold calipers :D .
  15. Young Chris, Can you put me down for a set of pre 2001 in Beige please, many thanks, Bob.
  16. Its the car, full stop, but a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin's could be of same help :) .
  17. As i'm sure alot of you guys have found out over the past couple of days, how poor ,a wide low profile tyre is in the snow and ice . There has been some minor discussion on the IS section ,about how poor the grip has been in this weather, that got me thinking ,so i had a look on www.mytyres.co.uk and www.tyretest.com and the only tyre that works well in the snow is a Michelin Pilot Alpin, but at £138.00, its not a cheap option.
  18. I'm running almost new Bridgestones Potenza RE 040 ;) .
  19. I had my first experience of driving my IS in the snow, i found the traction pretty poor, as Damer said ,even a slight incline is enough to get the car stuck. Even with the snow button and traction control on ,progress was slow. I feel this is just part of the cars characteristics as with a light back end, rear wheel drive and wide tyres all there factors don't help. Maybe i'll pop off to Homebase for a few bags of cement for the boot :D .
  20. In North Kent ,had about 25mm on the car this morning, all the major roads have been gritted ,so no problem getting out and about :) .
  21. OK, can i please order a set of mud flaps to fit my IS200, Bob :) .
  22. Chris i'm intrested in a set of mud flaps , i see the price includes vat, whats the postage and do you take cheques :D .
  23. Sounds like the same type of parking kit i have ,two stage beeping followed by continious noise . Is this a Lexus kit or aftermarket ne ( I only have two sensors).
  24. A boot liner is a plastic/rubber tray that fits in the boot to keep it clean, very handy if you put muddy boots or diy stuff in there :D .
