hi there not posted for a long time as i changed my lexus for a beemer about 18 months ago then a jag and im looking again at a sportcross(3rd childs needs) the reason why i exchanged my is(with sat nav) was due to me sticking it in a lampost side on into the drivers door. john my damage was no where near as bad as yours as you have listed on the parts list,and mine went to direct line in saford where they tried to repair it except it kept jumping of the jig(aparantley the guy working on it refused to do so as it was dangerous(this i was told later)so d/l sent it to lexus who sent it straight back saying it needed a shell and extensive straitening.direct line then tried to strip it down to verify this and it took six weeks in all for them to settle on it wasnt repairable. i knew this the moment i come round from the daze my passenger had inflicted on me when he headbutted me when the lampost brought the car to an abrupt halt(not saying what speed i was doing)that the car was unrepairable so i would be asking for a second opinion as i did as i was not prepared to drive a potential deathtrap dont forget is's are lightweight shells and bend easiley all the best and i hope i havent put you on a downer and you will get another is no probs just ring round all the dealers in you area telling them your predicament and im sure the calls will come flooding in as mine did when i went looking for kmy original is all the best lapat

just for arguments sake on this post firstly i would be gratefull if oyu would stop slating my native manchester secondley your cars got a a tracker fitted it goes from outside your house in say birmingham at 1.00am in the morning yoiu get up go out to defrost it at 8.00am and sh*t its gone you notify tracker/police signal is not recieved at the car why cause it was sat in a container lined with silver foil at hull docks awaiting to go to the balkans and then onto to an arab nation and its been there for four hours and your tracker doesnt work why cause its a bloody mobile phone at the end of the day block its signal and your knackered believe me it works a pal of mine works for manchester stolen vehicle squad and they were losing more 4 x4 to an arab state this way for payment for illegal substances best thing to do put a expensive disk type steering lock on it to drive it they have to remove your steering wheel thus activating the air bag thats if they can get to the bolt in the first place if they really want it some scroat will drag you out of it anyway

its nothing to do with the filters cold air is denser and as the is are a petrol guzzler through there six cylinder the petrol mixed with the denser cold air burns a lot lot better so giving you more pokey pokey

hi there i recentley purchased my x plate 2001 aztec fire is200 its only the base model with 44k on the clock with sat nav i give £12k for it from lexus so have a good luck round they did have sports on the forecourt even a v plate for £11500 it had 60k on the clock and was platinum ice so they are about for the money you want to pay i went for the base as i had leather in my merc e class before i bought this and it was really cold and un comfy at times,theres really not a lot of difference apart from trim levels and wheel sizes(didnt matter to me as i always by non standard wheels eventually) good luck anyway john

i think i have got a problem as i tried it again today with and without the trc on and i lose all power when it slides and regrips thought i was being a little heavy and the rev limiter was kicking in but i didnt even hit redline back to lexus she goes but how do i explain that ive no power when coming out of a sideways slide at roundabouts hehehe

anybody out there help i floor my is200 especially into roundabouts and it will start to slide and then traction kicks in but i lose all power(like a flat spot)for just a second or so then it will pick back up is this a fault or is it something thats built into the computer to control the traction control aswell i know some off you are going to say turn trc off but i still like too have a little sideways fun with my lad in the car(be a little safe) john

hi mate regarding your reg plate it will not sell overnight it may take months they will advertise it for the quote they give you and when it does sell it would be quicker if its on retention,you should get the original plate back on the car that it was first registered with and the one thats for sale that you have seen have a look on dvlas own site as if its a dealer he will be adding his cut on top most regestrations on dvlas site start at £249 and thats even the transfer to the car included if you want anymore info drop me a line john

lets get ready to rumble AZTEC FIRE no other would have done for me maybe black if i pushed it chris shipley may be able to help us out here i am of the understanding regarding colours that lexus rotate the colours on an 18 month basis i.e the colour i have AZTEC FIRE is not available anymore as its now its the gold colour thats available,as for there base colours,blues etc they change the shade slightly approxiamatley every nine months this i have been told is to keep the residual value of the lexus up(i.e limit the colour)

i got my car a week ago and its 2 years old and it had a supagaurd treatment when first bought by the previous owner and the dealership still tried to sell me the treatment and handed over the leaflet which says its protected for three years,so i declined ,i have a berry tree next door to my house and the birds are always ****ting on the car and the washing and its no easier to get of than it was on the merc i previousley owned,so i went back to my previous cleaner AUTOGLYM wash and wax and super resin polish and there own polish cloths,takes a couple of hours but still comes up a treat

what of the baby as i have no chance of taking my digital camera to the car misses is hogging it emailing pics to everyone and there dog i was gonna doctor some and send a pic of the lexus on one of the emails instaed of the sprog with the title our new baby to the inlaws(but havent got a pic yet)

a pal of mine had a sunny gti-r one of the original uk ones only 2000 made on a k and l plate and spent major dough on it he then bought a rb22 and hated it he went back to nissan for a skyline and bought a new(then a v plate) skyline,he had it 9 months and it was in nissan for 7 of those with hundreds of faults including piston slap within 8k and had a new engine(he did drive like and idiot) but a car of supposodley of that spec should not be devloping faults like it did i have only had my is for 4 days and so far its the best most comfortable drivers type car i have driven(and i have had a few)i would go for the gs430 as if its anthing like an is you cant go wrong why did i drive german for so long john

hi again all picked the car up and well i have to say i am impressed drive a dream,mercedes who wants one NOT ME mods may have to go on hold for a little while misses dropped the little one yesterday never mind ive got to babys to play with now the lexus and the little one john

zee just been reading the posts about the manchester lexus dealership things look bleak thought merc where bad(£450 for my last service and spark plugs were not changed) apparantley the sales staff have all been changed i have had good polite service of them in the last couple of days but only time will tell john

loz i bought the e class last year of a pal of mine that worked for merc direct bit of a rush buy although it was a living room on wheels it wouldnt pull being an auto,wicked machine dont get me wrong but a a 2 ton lump,always liked the lexus and this one come at the right time,***** in lexus wouldnt let me give it some though on the test drive, john
