  1. My 400h is a 58 reg and the auto lock works as soon as it is put in drive. It also auto locks above a certain mph(I think 20) if I put it in drive before doors are closed. It will also lock/unlock manually from a button on the drivers door. It's all there on pages 57 to 61 of the manual. I can't see there being any difference between 57 and 58 models.
  2. Thanks steve2006 I've done that now. Can not think how I could have turned it on.
  3. Why am I getting personal mail on this topic? I did not start it and the headlight problem is not mine. Although I have contributed to the thread and to many others on the forum I have not had PM's before. As far as I am aware I have not altered anything in my settings. The message at the bottom of the email tells me to go to the control panel to unsubscribe/change settings but I can not see where the control panel is. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
  4. If you do a search on this I seem to remember that there is an issue with water getting to the relay box.
  5. Never had much success with RainX seems to make wipers worse. Sorry not much help but it sounds as if it could be the arm.
  6. Small philips head screw driver to split key(1 screw) and open battery compartment(2 screws). 5 x CR1616 batteries on ebay for around £2 and job done.
  7. Thanks, did not notice that list and can't recall ticking anything before noticing the change.
  8. Has there been a change in the Latest post section? Currently when I press the Latest Posts button !89 pages appear.
  9. According to the owners manual, tank capacity is 65 litres. I've had mt 400h for nearly three years and I get beteen 28 and 32 mpg. The lower figure in winter and the higher in summer. I drive about 10,000 miles per annum on all types of roads and would not consider myself to be a slow driver.
  10. On checking the tyres today I noticed that the rear nearside tyre was showing more wear espacially on the outer rim. I check tyre pressures regularly and all the tyres were replaced at the same time. They are Bridgestone as fitted when new. Any ideas as to the likely cause please?
  11. I've had my RX400 for over 2 years and the annoying thing I find with the tailgate is that you have to wait for it to close which seems to be a long time( eg watching a kettle boil) before you can lock the car.
  12. Regardless of which side the switch is on (R or L) both mirrors dip. I find the nearside mirror dips more than the offside but they both dip.
  13. Is it possible to have the first press on the remote to open the driver's door only and the second press to open the other doors on a 58 registered RX 400h. At the moment one press opens all doors.
  14. I think the R means reserve of which there is about 10 litres after the light comes on.
  15. Not much help but if the heater is calling for heat the engine should know this and fire up. I would suspect some faulty sensors etc.
  16. Is'nt the buzzer dependent on the speed of the vehicle? You don't travel at speed in car parks do you?
  17. Has anyone been to the Lexus Bolton 21 years celebration. Are there any decent savings to be made. They claim up to 32% off.
  18. I believe that is correct until the next time the battery is disconnected when it will revert back to the original spec. So I've been informed.
  19. My computer read out is showing 28.4 mpg at the moment. That is mostly urban driving. During last summer it was showing around 32 mpg with mixed driving. Can't see me getting any better than these figures. I don't drive for good fuel consumption.
  20. I notice you are from the Wirral. Lexus Chester were doing this when I bought from them with no strings attached so the car was probably sold by them at some time in its life.
  21. I take it you have found the rectangular cover and removed it. Have a feel inside the opening towards the front of the car and you should find a small rectangular button. This needs sliding(can't remember right or left)only slightly and the disc should automatically be ejected.
  22. How do you jump start the engine? I was under the impression that you "jump started" the 12 volt system which is the computerised system. The engine is then started by the main battery and if that is flat no matter what is connected to the 12 volt battery you will not start the engine. Or have I got it wrong?
