  1. I'm having a problem with the telephone system on the sar which I hope someone can give me some ideas of what could be wrong. The phone connects all right with bluetooth but then I have problems doing any editing on the contacts list. Activating the manage contacts button only gives the option to transfer contacts from the phone which are aready in the system..Also the message/email part only works sometimes. The car is still under 12 months old and therefore still under warranty but before taking it to the dealer maybe someone on the forum have had the same problem and know the solution.
  2. I'm on my fifth Lexus, Is200 Is300 Rx400 Rx450 and now Ct200 and not one of them more than four years old and none of them cleared the side windows on lowering so I don't think it has anything to do with hardening of the rubber. From what I can see the rubber/plastic seal is a lot harder and not touching the glass as in my other car which is a VW Polo and which is great at clearing the windows.
  3. Very interesting article. My CT 200 seems to follow this pattern and for the first quarter mile it feels like an awful flat spot on acceleration. I feel much happier about it after reading the article. Thank you.
  4. It's where they are positioned. There's only two of them. They protect the corners OK but because of their position they miss objects directly ahead. The sensitivity seems fine.
  5. The sensors are not very good at picking up objects diectly in front of the car and I only trust them to plck up objects on the front quarters eg turning into a parking space at an angle.
  6. Steve. Should have read post 7 again.
  7. Thanks for your reply Steve. I don't quite understand your middle paragraph, are you saying if there is a reasonable tread left on the tyre you would use the Lexus kit? From previous topics on this subject it would seem that the tyre is rendered useless after using the Lexus kit also. Good to know that the AA/RACare able to plug the tyre if feasable.
  8. What is the difference between using a Holts repair can and the Lexus one supplied with the car? How do the emergency service deal with the situation when called out?
  9. Yes it does give a couple of chimes before approaching a static not mobile speed camera but it does seem to miss some so I wouldn't rely on it entirely.
  10. If it the same as the 2015 model its to do with the dashboard dimming switch. This needs to be turned down from full on.
  11. Can't think why you would want the sound turned off. Surely in that case a lot of your attention must be on the satnav screen and not on the road ahead.
  12. Ì have now done the customisation on the car using the Carista app coupled with an adaptor off Amazon. I upgraded to the Pro version at a cost of £15.73 and completed the task in a few minutes. The only problemis that my car is fitted with a sunroof and although the app says open/close windows and sunroof with the remote key the sunroof does not respond. I have emailed the Carista people about this and await their response. What a great app though.
  13. For my last 3 Lexus I have dealt with Lexus Bolton another RRG garage and have always been treated very well whenever I visit. Previous to these 3 cars I bought 2 from Lexus Chester another great dealership.
  14. Thanks. I've sent for the bluetooth version.
  15. Thanks for your replies. I've not been near any traffic cameras today so can't test your theory about the beeps. As the car is only a week old I'm going to ask the dealer to sort out the reversing beeps, but have been looking at the Carista web site and will probably have a go at the other customisations. The problem I see is that they only sell their OBD2 adaptor in the USA and am wondering whether other adaptors would allow the customisation on the CT200h that they claim on their website.
  16. After some complaining from my OH about car parking and the car being too big for just the two of us I have changed my 2010 RX450h premier for a 2015 CT200h premier. The CT was registered by the garage on 30th June and with only 40 miles on the clock and a very good discount off the list price I took delivery on the 10th July. After only a few days I'm still getting used to the difference in size and performance but I am pleasantly surprised. The ride is a little firmer but not to much and the performance is more than adequate. There are a couple of things that are a bit annoying at the moment, one being the constant bleeping when in reverse which I think can be changed by the dealer, the other being that now and again as I'm driving a couple of beeps sound for what appears to be no reason. I hope someone from this forum can help me out with this.
  17. Had the car in yesterday for the oxygen sensor recall and the garage put some fuel in the tank persumably as compensation for the inconvenience but they did not mention it. But my polnt is that the fuel consumption shown on the read out after refuelling is 35.7 mpg. Over the 2.5 years that I've had the car the consumption has never been as high, around 31 usually. Could this be the result of the O2 sensor being changed or the effect of it being the hottest day of the year.
  18. As I mentioned in a previous post today, try Michelin Stealth from Costco at £6 each. Don't know where else they are available. They are brilliant.
  19. We were having problems on my partners VW Polo, tried different makes with no success until I bought some Michelin Stealth ones from Costco. They are approx £6 each and have cured smearing and juddering and are the best wipers I've used in 50 years of motoring.
  20. I had a 400h before this one and you are right that for me anyway it is no better on fuel consumption though I find everything else better.
  21. The best mpg figure I've achieved is 34 and that was a motorway run of 40miles and not exceeding 60 mph. The average is showing 29.5 at present with 30.4 from last fill up which was 50 miles ago and all town driving. Imo it would be very boring driving to achieve anything better than 34 mpg.
  22. Did you pull the centre pin out enough before putting the clip in place?
  23. If I remember rightly to put them in you lift the centre pin up put the clip in place and push the centre clip in until its flush. To remove use a small driver to push the centre pin in and the clip should lift out.
