  1. Yes it does mentrion the website in the article I read. Regarding rim protection, the present Yokos have a decent rubber protector and there are a couple of chunks on them but I'll blame my partner for these.
  2. Thanks for all the replies. I will try and visit a tyre dealership this week depending what Boris comes out with tomorrow and will post later in the week. From checking on Google Honest John is in administration.
  3. I am currently looking at which tyres I should fit on my CT. It's a July 2015 Premier model and has only done 20k which lve had from new and although the original Yokos would probably last the summer I feel that 6year old rubber is ready for replacing. My main consideration is quietness and ride comfort and I am drawn to the Michelin cross climate. Do these tyres have rim protection? Ive googled this but can't find an answer. Would be grateful for any up to date reviews on these tyres.
  4. Noticed your car is 2019 model. What were fitted as original and why did you change. I'm thinking of changing to Michelin cross climate from the original Yokos although they've only done 20k but being led by the reports of how quiet the cross climates are.
  5. I use Trico wipers on the ct and also on a VW polo which was particulary noisy and judder. They cured the problem.
  6. As a matter of interest, how did the AA get into the car and where did they 'jump' start the car from?
  7. Just realised that what you mean by theft sensors are the lnternal movement sensors which are controlled by the switch by the front interior light.
  8. Excuse my ignorance but what is the Theft Sensor. I only have the remote to set the alarm on mine, unless I've missed something.
  9. Thanks Herbie. What you said makes perfect sense now that it's been pointed out. Not been going out much during lockdown and I have been lighter on the throttle. The battery did go flat about two weeks after lockdown so the system has obviously picked up on the gentler throttle. As for socks I generally wear navy or beige but it would be to much information regarding underwear.
  10. Hope someone can help. Normally when I fill up with fuel the Range usually shows around 400miles which on the average miles per gallon shown of 45 is reasonably near the mark. Filled up yesterday with the average mpg showing 46 the range shows 539 miles. Any ideas why and can anyone explain how the range is calculated. I realise that it's only an estimate on a hybrid but surely 539 is well out.
  11. Thanks again for some excellent and informative replies, also the pointer from Farqui to the Inactivity during lockdown diacussion in the GS300 section. Very interesting posts.
  12. Thanks for the replies. I have tried this and the engine does fire up when the accelerator is pressed albeit not like an ordinary car where you can rev up to high revs and down. There does seem to be some limit to how fast the engine will rev up to. I will probably take a decent run to charge the hybrid barreries despite the lockdown. My question was just out of interest though.
  13. During the lock down I am confined to home. I am aware that the auxiliary battery can be topped up with a battery charger but my question concerns the hybrid batteries. If I sit in the car on the drive in the ready mode and out of drive mode with pressure on the accelerator to keep the engine going at low revs, does this put any charge in the hybrid batteries?
  14. The Yuasa listed at GGF car parts for £390 is only 35 AH according to their fitmant list. Not the 45AH original fitment.
  15. I slso had a flat battery due to not using the car much during the present lock down. The auxiliary system can be started through the under bonnet fuse box connection and any unpainted bolt etc in the engine compartment and this will allow access to the barrery in the rear but I found that the battery cannot be charged using this method. I bought a Ctek 5.0 charger thinking that it would do the job from the underbonnet connection but after 12 hours it did not put any charge into the battery so I have connected the supplied comfort lesd and have left the connection to the battery charger on the boot floor where I can get at it when the back seats are down. I will need to change the battery as it is 5 years old but looking at online battery suppliers many of them don't seem to know what a ct200 is and what is advertised are a bit hit and miss. I will wait for the dealerships to open and sort it out then. In the meantime I will give it a weekly boost via the comfort connection.
  16. Thanks for your replies. Tyre pressures OK at 32 psi. The car has only done 14k from new and I've been the only owner but Wass may have hit on something when he mentions the car going for service. The consumption did drop a little following the service in July but not to this extent. I will go and have a word at the dealership in the New Year.
  17. It may well be that it's well known that consumption drops in the cold weather, but as stated in my post I've had this car for 3 years and last year's weather was colder than it has been up to now this year so why the sudden drop. I think the dealer is talking rubbish.
  18. As per heading, a month ago I decided to give the car a treat and put a tank full of premium fuel in. The consumption on that tank full fell to 38 mpg from the 47 I was getting previously. Filled again with normal unleaded a week ago and the consumption shows 39 mpg over the last 40 miles or so. I realise that the outside temperature has dropped but I've had this car over 3 years and has never dropped this low. The journeys I do are similar every year. Any ideas please? The car seems to have a definate flat spot when accelerating from cold but then is OK when warmed up so wondering if this could have anything to do with it. The average consumption over the last couple of thousand miles has been 47.7.
  19. My tyre pressures are 32 psi all. The ride is pretty hard at that tyre pressure so without going out to increase the pressure to 38 psi was wondering what the ride and roadhOddington is like at that pressure and surely tyre wear would increase especially on the crown.
  20. Since having its fist service last July at 5000 miles I have found the mpg has gone worse. I was averaging about 54 mpg per tankful but this has now reduced to 45 mpg per tankful. Driving style is similar, road types the same and the weather has not been to bad since July. I keep meaning to talk to the garage but not done so yet. Must get round to doing so.
  21. I changed all the numbers in my phone contact list to the +44 format but did not make any difference, so decided to change them back to the UK format. Hey presto when connected back to the car the names appear with the UK format number. No idea what I did different.
  22. Thank you for your replies and as you know the contacts list is automatically updated when the phone connects to the car. My contacts are stored in the phone memory not the sim as if they are stored in both you get a double entry on the car contacts list. I am going to go with colin 79666 suggestion which seems a very good one. Thanks for that. I will update the post when I've got round to doing this.
  23. Telephone is connected on hands free but when a call or a message comes in the car screen shows the number as unknown and has put a 44 in front of the number. Most calls that I receive are from people in my contact list and the names show up when the contact list is opened. Not a massive problem but it would be good to know whose on the other end without trying to remember who the last three or four numbers belong to. Any ideas if there is something in settings which will sort this out?
  24. Did not need an update. I did not realise that the car updates its contacts list every time the phone connects, unlike my previous cars where any alteration to the contacts list had to be done within the car's system. A sort of live system.
  25. Thanks for that. I've just phoned the dealership and was told to bring it in and see one of the sales people and they would sort it. Obviously a known issue.
