  1. Ian, i have told model reports to get ( or i would supply ) a HKS Super AFR i think this could help!... Here is the write up on the item.. The HKS Super AFR is the very first airflow meter correctional device in the industry with a built in CPU. The advantage of having a built in CPU is that instead of making corrections to the airflow meter voltage, the characteristics of each airflow meter is inputted in the CPU so it can calculate the accurate amount of air flowing in. Since the correction will be made to this specific intake volume, the correction ratio of fuel will be precise and proportionally correct. The Super AFR is compatible with most Import and Domestic 12V, 2~12cylinder vehicles that utilize a hot wire, Karmen Vortex, or pressure sensor. The internal CPU allows it to be versatile and be utilized on many of the newer type airflow meters. Also incorporated in the Super AFR is the ability of idle air/fuel ratio corrections as modification progress and require further specific tuning levels. The response function, similar to the one in the VPC, allows for adjustments to the fuel settings upon throttle inputs to improve driveability and performance. The EIDS function is automatically programmed with the data from the initial self-learning calibration and automatically activated to correct sudden imbalances is air/ratios from discharge valves upon deceleration. Air/Fuel Ratio Correction Function Controls air/fuel ratios through airflow meter or pressure sensor Range - 50% rich to 50% lean from the factory baseline settings Output can be adjusted in 1% increments Eleven points of adjustment between 650 and 8000 rpm, these points can be arbitrarily moved in 50 rpm increments Response Correction Function Engine response can be adjusted through airflow meter/pressure sensor Range - 1m/sec to 100m/sec Six points of adjustment between 650 and 5000 rpm, these points can be arbitrarily moved in 50 rpm increments. First in the industry to offer this function in a simple airflow correction device Idle Correction Function Idle mixture can be adjusted 50% rich to 50% lean in 1% increments within the idle range (650 to 1500 rpm) from factory baseline setting This adjustment is made independent of the other eleven points of mixture adjustments in the air/fuel correction function Electronic Idle Stabilizer Function (EIDS) This automatic function prevents engine stalling or stumbling in some airflow meter vehicles which use blow-off valves discharged to the atmosphere when throttle is released Base of Adjustability and set-up This device is very simple to set-up and adjust The head unit is adjusted through three control knobs HKS recommends tuning for this device be done on a chassis dynamometer with use of an accurate air/fuel ratio measuring device
  2. how much of an issue is it though? over the lifetime of the car, has there ever been any cases of say engine failure, worn bores due to inefficent filtration? i've ordered a cheapy 40 quid one from ebay, mainly to see what it sounds like, if it's good i'll look at getting a proper blitz one, but they aren't cheap! ← Wouldn`t be a problem Nick, just saying they don`t filter as good... :)
  3. Where`ve you been hinding mate?? :P :D nice to see your still amongst us
  4. The metal mesh filters are much louder than the other foam/cotton ones... BUT they are NOT TOO GOOD when it comes to filtration...
  5. Zee i would almost swear its 1 or more of the coil packs... what year is the Tez? up to 2000 these were a bit of a problem they then switched to different coil packs ( part number 90919-02236 ) which seems to have sorted it out... bet you could get them couldn`t you Chris..? Not cheap though Zee about £65 each and there are 4!
  6. That is weird as the altezza is only a 4 cylinder and takes 5 litres or 5.1 when filter is changed... :duh: I know nobody asked about the Tezz... just mentioning it.. :D
  7. From the looks of it... Legana front bumper ( showing an APEXi intercooler for the APEXi Turbo kit. SARD rear bumper and side skirts... This car is an Altezza... and very nice it is too!! ALOT of money went into this car... i can get you the parts though if you have deep pockets...lol
  8. no mate... it will go straight on..
  9. Just as well mine are from Japan then hey?? :winky:
  10. Yes, i Sold a set of SARD skirts to Mark Tsang a while back..
  11. i like that phrase i must remember that one!!
  12. Standard cars 0-60.... think you`ll find the altezza is still quicker... :D
  13. if your after 250 BHP the only option is the altezza. Otherwise you will spend about £5k (minimum!!!) on the is200.... with the altezza, 250 could be gained by spending about £2k you can email me on scott@altezzasportsandprestige.com and we can discuss this in more detail mate..
  14. Hi Robin, welcome to the club... Some people might say i am a little biased, but as more of the people that were once "anti- altezza" are now buying ( or considering buying) an altezza, i can assure you that i am not... ( well alright... maybe a little bit.. ) Anyway... there are 2 types of altezza... the AS200 which is the 6 cylinder format which is exactly the same as the UK cars. Then there is the more sought after RS200 which has a 4 cylinder engine which has 200BHP in auto/tiptronic guise and 210BHP and 6 speed manual form. If you decide that it IS the 4 cylinder version you want... please beware as alot of people sell the AS200 stating that it is the RS200 as they both say BEAMS on the engine cover... Easiest way to tell is the RS200`s airscoop goes off to the left and the 6 cylinder goes right up the middle! Bodywise these cars are identical ( altezza is 15mm lower than standard is200 S and SE... same as the is20 Sport). So they are use the same suspension, brakes and rear section of the exhaust system... but thats where it stops! The is200 is quite restricted tuning wise... 1 or 2 types of induction kit,, loads of mufflers ( as they are the same as the RS200 ) etc etc... whereas the only thing putting a stop on tuning the altezza is your wallet. The is200 is for cruising... wheras the altezza is alot more sporty.. As for parts and styling etc... look no further... here is my website.. My Webpage anything else you want or want to know... even if you want me to import a car for you... email me on scott@altezzasportsandprestige.com Scott
  15. hmm, thats a point. how much heavier isw an is300 over an is200? ← 120KG
  16. is300 suspension work the same on is200/altezza ( especially the altezza) as the altezza is 170KG lighter??
