  1. When I were having engine hesitation issues, even after cleaning the MAF it didn't make a difference until I reset the ECU. Of course it then will relearn driving technique from the beginning
  2. I'd go with cleaning the MAF first. Don't forget to reset the ECU by removing the fuse/battery
  3. When mine went flat the once whilst I was installing a new headunit, it then went again shortly after. The best thing is to replace it
  4. A bit of topic, but I must get a go in a GS430 as I keep reading about the difference between the GS300
  5. I see - should sound sweet once done. Be careful as some places recognise the centre section as a 'cat' and not a silencer. So not replacing the y-piece can save a few pounds
  6. To be fair Rick, I'd say it looks pretty solid. I was thinking the same. It's just I want the back boxes to be replaced soon moreso as they look in a bad state. You mentioned you're going to get the V8 done at some point. You going for cat bac?
  7. I thought the centre pipe was some sort of cat. So there are 3 silencers in total. It does seem a high price, but I rather pay for quality at a local shop, rather than travel to an obscure place which is not well known. Need to make up my mind where I want to have the exhaust built from. Point A or B
  8. Thanks for your reply Rick. I've been through a few youtube clips, and searched the forum. The GS430 has more clips of course due to it's V8 which encourages exhaust upgrades. The thing I can't make my mind up on is, do I upgrade from cat back at the y-piece, or just before the centre box? Do you think there will be much difference from the two possible points. To explain better what I'm talking about I'll attach an image. Point A: If I am to go from this point onwards, it will mean I've got a fresh leg of pipe. Thefore this is more money too when installed. Point B: This leaves the current y-piece in place, but replaces the centre box (silencer/third cat). Thing is, what are the advantage/disadvantages? Cheers
  9. That's exactly what I was thinking, get a nice guarantee with it too, and there seem to be a few Longlife workshops plotted around in the UK. Does anyone know the standard exhaust bore of the GS300 MK2 system?
  10. The company I went to was Longlife franchise. I haven't had a quote anywhere else as there aren't that many places by me. I couldn't have it too sporty, think it would drive me mad
  11. Afternoon all I popped down to an exaust place called Style Dynamics in the morning. Got my car up in the air for a full comprehensive quote. The chap quoted £700 from front cat back (cat by the front wheels). If I go from the cat in the middle it would cost £499. Now I was thinking, if I'm going to change the exhaust, I may as well go from the front cat back which is of course, the more expensive option, but at least that way it's all new. The thing I'm stuck on is the exhaust sound. I like my car quiet as it isn't the sort of car which is meant to be loud. I have a choice between -standard- midsport- and sport (jap sound). I've said to the chap at the exaust place, if I were to go for the exhaust, i'd go for 'standard' sound. Now i'm thinking will that be too quiet? what are your reviews, and what do you have fitted? Thanks for reading
  12. I replaced mine just after summer 2012. It looked pretty much how yours did. They're cheap and easy to replace with replacements all over ebay
  13. I've had my Mk2 GS300 for just over a year now, and I've since put these features: 7" DVD pioneer headunit with bluetooth handsfree. 2x 9" Rear headrest monitors. Reverse camera. 10" Vibe subwoofer with built in amp.
  14. You're also not allowed to vent air con to the atmosphere. Follow what Rick has said in post 2
  15. I went for remanufactured ones in the end gents. It worked out easier and cheaper for me. For reference I used these guys based up north http://www.brakesint.co.uk/about.html
  16. Hi Steve, I've heard about the service kits, just don't have the time to do them. Rather buy a pair, and just replace them
  17. Morning all My front left caliper was sticking just over a month ago, I set it free, and now it's back to sticking. When I released it, I changed the slider pins and boots too. Now do I fork out £650 on 2x genuine calipers, or do I go remanufactured? Please any experience with remanufactured would be great. Also, links to suppliers if to hand. Thanks in advance. Regards, Addz
  18. Hi Malcolm, thanks for your input. It's a shame you don't enjoy the sound of your newly fitting exhaust - perhaps after a little while it will grow into you? A wasp in a jamjar, oh dear, I don't like the sound of that - reminds me of a Honda civic. If you want a change in sound, possibly you can get the back box changed for a different sound surely, I hope. It is quite a trek to be fair from Surrey, may search for someone more local
  19. That is a clean example for sure. You've kept her well so total credit to you ;)
  20. Evening guys Just noticed a new undiscovered feature on my GS300 MK2. If you hold the 'unlock' button on your key fob for several seconds all the windows and sunroof will open. Likewise, to close the windows hold the 'lock' button and they will close. I've had my car over a year and did not know this feature existed :) Thought I'd share for those who did not know ;)
  21. Thanks for your informative reply Jamie. It will help me decide the sound I'm looking for from my straight six. It won't sound nothing like a V8 of course ;) You definitely need to get more pics in when you get a moment
  22. Thank you for the video and PH link PJS :) Jamies when you went into MIJ, what did you say when you described your exhaust
